Just saw House of the Dead... and omfg this movie is really aweful. I never even played the game, but the movie itself is simply terrible

I really liked the demo. I'm buying this game for sure. I think Prey is a lot better than Doom 3 and Half Life. Being restricted to only small areas might be a bit of a downside. But at least the presented world is great. I enjoyed every minute I played in the game. Prey isn't half as dark as Doom 3. Even Half Life 2 was darker (I'm talking about lighting ofcourse). As for only 3 enemies max.. well.. it's not Serious Sam I really enjoyed the creativity they put in the level design. Half Life 2 simply had a very boring level design. Doom 3 was about 90% the same. The Hell part was cool, but only 1 level Ofcourse it's a bit difficult to judge how the rest of the game is. But so far I really enjoyed liked the levels. The "orb with the giant" part rocked.

most of the movies aren't that bad, it's just that you have to completely forget everything you know about the game the movie was based on. If you do that the movie will be simply one of those crappy hollywood movies. I only saw Alone in the Dark, haven't seen House of the Dead and BloodRayne yet. I'm not very interested in another "half-human, half-vampire" movie. As for HotD... haven't had the chance to see it.

I think you'll have to wait until Postal hits the theatres. This is just a trick to get people to see his movie (just because of the fighting scene).

What was your most embarrassing moments/embarrassing monets you caused others?

players ran into the referees because of black-and-white televisions!? -
Besides that, who needs painting on a wall anyway. A house with no straight walls... I could live in that.

not to forget that crappy sales are often blamed on the creators and not the people that mostlikely fucked up (often the publishers specially the PR dept.).

yeah.. TJL is worth p(l)aying (for)

Did you think that was funny? Or did you get Al Lowe to think it for you?

then it obviouly doesn't work

not really... serif city and settlers 2 were very equal, settlers 2 only had a few extra buildings iirc, but it features better controls and svga. Something they shouldn't forget with the s2 remake is a windowed mode. So many games of the genre forget a windowed mode or they force autopause when the window loses focus. The should make a proper multi tasked game that better blend in with MS Windows. Or something.

I'm all for subtitles. Specially in the case of a language I don't comprehend (like Cantonese or French). But I have mixed feelings about that because I often see stuff on TV that has really screwed up the translation. So if I watch a French movie with subtitles, how do I know that translator correctly translated it. This is specially the case for slang and humor. Ah well, at least subs beat the hell out of dubs. A dubbed version of consolevania with "proper" english would be... terrible.

yeah.. the NES and SNES d-pad was also quite horrible. Controllers simply shouldn't have any sharp corners on the buttons. "Bleedin' Thumbs"

Oh that's what they were talking about.

maybe, but Chuck Norris can kick his ass

the commentators are the worst part of watching sports.. they always crap out bullshit just to make sure there is no radio silence.

hear hear... I don't like football either (or like some people would like to call it: soccer) and all this orange crap is plain annoying (orange (and pink) are the worst colors ever).

It saves me time. Anyway, Twinsen) I don't think he's a blank slate, it was his destiny and the power was within him. He doesn't need training, just some push to unleash the powers within him. He has a past, he has a family, he was (until the first adventure) just another guy. He's more of a "chosen one" character. Is the chosen one the same as the "zero to hero" type? Kurt Hectic) he's actually quite the anti-hero in the story part of both games. When you take over you are ofcourse the hero. In MDK his character didn't have a major role. In MDK his character got more form. So, he might be a blank slate for the action part of. I really got the feeling we're push characters into a single character profile. I don't think it's as simple as that.
