no pliskin -
no it's not, either way it would be below 100 and 100 is the nation's average so.. larger than a number below 100 doesn't really qualify as "intelligent". It's more an indication that those senators are retards..

omg... now I feel sorry for somewhat intelligent people in the USA (read: with an IQ above room temperature)

screw this... the demo crashes every couple of minutes
-
ugh... great... the demo crashes when I press escape. Guess I may not escape it. But for the rest it's just another one of those games.

interesting... another remake of a classic... the game industry is starting to become like the movie industry (wrt remakes) -
tagging along on steam-like applications Triton ( http://www.playtriton.com/ ) is a piece of shit. Their EULA and other handling is much better than Steam, e.g. the legal side of it. But their client software is a real piece of shit. Why must everything have a crappy non standard skinned GUI.

I think not. Since I am responsible for my computer and my steam account you can not require me to allow automatic download and installation. Because I don't have control it and therefor can not be held responsible for what happens with my steam account when I allow this. You will need confirmation from me before I allow any of the listed actions. Then we can talk about being responsible for my account. Bullshit, I'm allowed to do almost all of those things. But still, this bull shit is included with most EULAs and they simply include it for fun. It violates rights granted to me by local laws, an EULA can not deny me these rights unless this EULA is transformed in a legal document (and therefor has to be signed by both parties, and what not). In short, I'm not allowed to use steam through a VPN or even a gateway unless I have written consent of Valve. Well so far for using this for multiplayer games. Talking about big brother. So... they can charge you when you want to cancel your account?! That doesn't sound right. Ahh.. no harm done. Not a single point will hold up in court since this is not a legally binding contract. But this is a normal clause. Further more they reserve the right to cancel your account at any time for any reason taking with them all licenses you aquired. Sorry, but licenses are not stackable. A license can only cover whatever came with it at the time the license was acknowledged. Anyway.. that may not be all, didn't read the EULA again that carefully this time (also skipped everything that wasn't valid in the european union). So you might say I don't use a lot of software since a lot of EULA's are crap like that. Well, no. I simply click "I agree" because I know the EULA is premium crap. The thing is that the company who's EULA I might have violated can't simply take away my license when we don't agree. With Steam license revokation is quite easy, therefor I'm more cautious

and now this thread is about steam too?

Wasn't that in the movie "Toys"? nice piece of spyware results
-
It doesn't even work. I'm still waiting for an activation email.

I don't like their EULA and how they think it's legally sound (concerning privacy, ownership and customer/seller relationship), I don't like their account handling policy. I don't like their intrusive software and their policy on how I may use my own computer. I don't like how much control I give to a single vendor. Steam has a lot of similarities with spyware vendors and scammers. It would be much less if it wasn't a single company responsible for all of it.

"Anime" in a whole is overrated. That being said. I did enjoy some anime movies. Howls Moving Castle was cool and Spirited Away was nice too.

Just played a bit of multiprey. Weapon balance is aweful and the speed is way to low. Didn't expect much of mutliprey anyway. It's like the MP feature of Tron 2.0. Don't forget the 3rd objective of steam: screw customers
-
don't know about triton... but I know I will never use steam in it's current form. I have doubts on the working of triton too (the webdesign is aweful).

It took me two shots before I figured out that was me.. I ran a couple of laps at that place with two boxes where you could go in circles with the portals. That was fun

ran pretty good on my amd64 3200 with geforce 6800gt @ high detail, 1024x768 didn't play around much with the settings. In the beginning it runs pretty aweful (the bathroom scene, weird vsync rendering artifacts) Tried the MP mode.. it's just normal DM or TDM with a interesting level design (because of the gravity) but it's quite slow, you don't really run fast or something.
