can't wait to play it, already downloaded and installed it, but can't play it yet. have to wait at least 8 damn hours.... I hope it's not as disappointing as Prey full game was compared to the demo.

Yes we will, but it's going to take a while. In fact voice recognition works very well on a limited set of keywords. It starts to get difficult for wildcard matching (required to dictate a letter or something). Something like "Computer, main screen turn on" works well enough This would require effort from both sides, you would need to learn the key set of commands. This has been working quite well for quite some years.

Now I'm convinced, going for the Wii

Classic Videogame characters: Should they keep their trap shut?
elmuerte replied to Tanukitsune's topic in Video Gaming
I think Megaman's voice in Captain N was very suitable. Don't know the other voice you're talking about. Though Simon Belmont was aweful. Yes No, not in general. -
And if 10.000 others have the same idea you'll have 60.000 games within 6 months. A whole new problem.

No. The game didn't have "The" in front of it.

"Rated R for Retarded"

Dreamfall, the PC version, was wasting space. The content was coocked for seekfree loading. anyway... this reminds me of a game that shipped on 50 CDs.

I figured that much. Wouldn't that be a bit annoying to play with?

I don't know. Doesn't look really interesting. Then again, I've never been (a) bull(y)(ied)

-
5 DVD's!? that up to 45GB of content in that case it would be either be ludicrous large or a complete waste of space
-
no I won't

You mean Stalone will play the Master Chief too?

looks your right.. they only removed any sex related part and changed the name still think Indigo Prophecy is a better name than Fahrenheit
-
they changed more than just a couple of the sex scenes iirc ok, media covered heros, but still I don't think there are a lot of "heros". btw, did everybody forget about this: http://www.gamasutra.com/features/20060315/boissiere_01.shtml if that isn't a good step toward then I don't know what

me and my friends last weekend, playing out a scene from Doom 3

That's not a cop. That's Jack Bauer. Only Chuck Norris can kick Bauer's ass.
-
depends, the USA version of Fahrenheit or the original?

Consumers are not high rolers. If the stakes are high enough they back out. Well... we used to have demos of pretty much every game. That's why we bought printed game magazines that came with a CD-Rom. So we could try out the demos. Don't know what happened, but ever since I cancelled my subscription on PC Gameplay I haven't played a lot of demos. So yeah. I mis out on some interesting games. Then again, a lot of games I want to try don't have demos. I don't really see a new age. The possibility of online distribution has been there for over 10 years. As for the Live! Arcade... I somehow get the feeling people have been waiting for somebody to take this step. The whole idea has been coined a shit load of times before and they all failed for various reasons (mostly because of the intrusive nature of the systems (crappy Real shit)). For consoles this has never been the case, and for console there's less of an issue of an intrusive and annoying system that delivers the goods.

well I finally bothered enough to read the text, and I don't agree on his vision of his "Merchant Ivory" game. Never even heard of "Merchant Ivory". I don't think the problem has anything to do with how games are currently made. To gain public respect you simply have to wait. It's a matter of time. Elvis Presly wasn't respected by the general public back then, but he is now because the people that liked him back then belong to the ruling general public right now. In about twenty years those dinosaurs that give games a hard time will be gone. But he has a point about the game industry lacking heros. But do we need heros? Creating a game is a team effort, why should one person take the credit.

Star Trek XI with Matt Damon as Kirk ... ... Some things simply must end. Sequels shouldn't have to be a bad thing, but with movies you have a little problem called aging of the actors. You can't simply substitute an actor. I would have loved a 4th Indiana Jones movie if it fit the original style. But Harrison Ford is simply too old, it wouldn't be as energetic as the first three. It would be an old guy being pushed around in a wheel chair. They guy is 67, when he played Indy is was around 40 (push 50 for the last movie). As for Die Hard 4... how much shit can a simple cop get into.
