So, this weird thing happened today. I was in the city center today and a guy approached me with the usual meta question I hate ("can I ask you a question?"). He told me that is hobby was making pictures of men with beards and mustaches, and asked if he could take a picture of me.

It's not like the ADHD series/movies of these days. I think the progression and pacing is really good. It doesn't start out very strong, but it gets strong with every episode.

Holy crap that grand canyon photo is awesome. It almost looks rendered.

I played Tron 2.0 twice, I think. I really liked how they continued the Tron world. Moving between various systems with different (memory) limitations was quite nice. Tron 2.0 was a much better fit as a continuation of the movie than the second movie (or the TV series).

Safecracker This is an old "adventure" game, it's actually more like Gone Home, but with very mechanical puzzles and pretty much no rummaging through drawers. There is some insignificant story, and a rather abrupt and odd ending. But if you like solving puzzles, it's quite ok.

I applied science and determined that those pictures where taken about 0.5Liter of beer apart.

I have my doubts about a Tremors remake. Then again, the world needs more Tremors movies.

Great programmers are great with or without a college education. A college education is just a foot in the door. College doesn't make great programmers, they might enable it in people who did not start on their own yet. A doctorate is very rare in any field which is not pure R&D, or just R. People associated with video games who have a PhD are most likely employed by a technology company (Intel, nVidia, middleware vendors), and rarely considered game devs. -
We do that a lot at the office. Translating Dutch sayings as literally as possible to English, preferably using the wrong words. It's very helpful to our non-Dutch colleagues.

Idle Criterion Film Club Week 3: Tokyo Story (1953)

Damn this movie is racist... all those stereotypical things about the Japanese. Just kidding. I did not pay much attention to the story. I was just looking at Japanese life in motion (so to say), that was quite interesting to witness.
