And where is average sized uncle, and fat neighborhood boy

That's an intrinsic side effect of doing a sequel. Changing something will risk the working formula to fail. But not changing something can result in a dull copy of the original. Bioshock 2 could be a Terminator 2. The big sister might be a T-1000. But Bioshock 2 could also become Terminator 3 with the big sister being the T-X.

Just went through the list of things he did, but not really much worth mentioning. Well, besides Heatvision and Jack.

about to collapse? sure... it was a bit leaky. You know, it would be awesome if there was a flashback section/level. Also, considering your a big daddy, maybe some outside segments.

Idle Thumbs 22: Put On the Top Ghost
elmuerte replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Well, in my defense "quite a bit" != "a lot", and I'm not going to argue that Anachronox doesn't contain any padding (Rictus' ship comes to mind). But if you're going to qualify every sense of traveling from one place to the other, then there's a lot of padding in pretty much all games. -
There was a short Big Daddy segment in Bioshock. That was ok, probably because it was only short. It's difficult to say if it'll suck or not. Playing Bioshock 1 completely as a Big Daddy would suck.

erm.. dogs bollocks are the good bollocks right?

It's a real shame its not the same voice actor, but I guess I have to get used to it. At least Gromit is still voiced by the same person.

lol, I want to see that episode

They're not speaking their mind. And I'm sorry, there are such things as wrong "opinions." It's my opinion that the sun isn't hot......mm-hm.

The 1992 one? or the one from 2008?

THAT'S A LOT OF NUTS... erm... pictures

Nope, it has also been adopted in webdesign: http://www.alistapart.com/articles/sprites/

Sprites are not equals to pixel art, not since alphachannels became usable. Pixel art can be a sprite, but not the other way around. Also, sprites can be reused, but they don't have to be. A sprite is nothing more than a 2D pre-rendered image.

Well... it's not like it's a Bethesda game.

lol.. you can not properly isolate a computer case of noise, it pretty much always results in heating issues. The best solution is to by proper fans (i.e. with ball bearings), and use rubber padded attachments for the harddrives (rather than metal on metal).

Early Indiana Jones transcript... leaked!
elmuerte replied to ThunderPeel2001's topic in Movies & Television
Maybe lucas kept people who kept everything. Somebody who's crazy enough to recut a movie at least 3 times in 20 years is crazy enough to keep people (in jars or something). -
Hey everybody, the games industry is recession-proof!

lol... and while he was cuting out part of the back plate he never figured that he might be going something wrong?

Ha.. I've got some of those stories too. Actually, a friend of mine has the same "loose screw" problem once. But he also once broke is mother board in two during a memory upgrade. The new DIMMs he bought were slightly thicker than the previous DIMMs, and didn't fit "well" into the DIMM slot. With a little bit of pressure his DIMM slot and mother board gave up. An other friend once had a CD-Rom explode in his DVD drive. There were pieces everywhere.

Last time I really played RTS was around the time of KKND (also played earlier games like C&C, WarCraft, Z, ...). The "simple" times of RTS. After that I did try to play Total Annihilation (somewhere in 2000-2001) with some friends who are very good. So, I got totally annihilated. And at that time it did seem too out of control. But recently I haven't played any RTS, don't really like the genre that much (or it's simply too complicated for me). I don't know if those two friends were "pausers", I actually think they're not because they mostly play online. They used to be in the top something of Supreme Commander players.

I would think using pause all the time makes you less good. Because without pause you need to "think fast", where with pause you can plan your next move. In multiplayer you would only be able to plan your strategy before you start the game.

Idle Thumbs 22: Put On the Top Ghost
elmuerte replied to Jake's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Just because you have less time to spend on games doesn't mean you don't enjoy playing long games. Though, long games often do make it more difficult to be played with long pauses between sessions (unless you keep your own notes during playing).
