Idle Thumbs 46: First Annual Year
elmuerte replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
There is a reason why most of those domains end in .info , it only costs $1 to register a .info through godaddy, which is roughly 67 euro cent. So... the domain costs less that the beer I consume during listening to the podcast. -
I was going to suggest that, but it's difficult to get a hold on Serious Sam Gold. Of course you could opt for the Serious Sam 2 ... but that one is that great.

It's a bit late, but better late than never: http://celebratingthefirstyearofidlethumbspodcasts.info/ -
Portal isn't a shooter, it's a first person puzzle game. I can't really recommend any game to start with for FPS. What part of FPS is she most interested in? You could start with a simple arena shooter and practice against bots. But this isn't really the same as a single player FPS. Is she looking for some stealthy FPS gaming? Or more pure action oriented? You could go in the direction of Serious Sam, or in the direction of Rainbow Six.

http://www.gameslol.com/2009/10/01/im-head-of-content-at-sega/ So, when SEGA doesn't publish a Japanese game in the West it is Marek's fault

Marek is now working for Sega?

There are a lot of idle animations, sometimes he day dreams. Very nice.

Not true, there was 1 scene that didn't have a single puzzle
-
I had something like ...._.. ..XXX _XX_ _XXX _..... Anyway, it was more trial and error. It looks like the hint book offers a pattern (which might work) The last puzzle isn't that difficult if you have pen and paper and write down the 7 tones. And you can probably also get it from the hint book. Anyway, you shouldn't stop because there are various nice puzzles after the annoying connect 5.
-
Oh yes, that's probably the most annoying mini game in the whole game. The trick is to create a lot of interconnected rows of 3 with still one side open. But it took me a long while to beat that game. I don't have a save for you though. Finished the game. The last puzzle was a bit annoying (remembering a tune and replay it). The ending is quite disappointing though. I only had to use the hint book twice, and it was usually a "oh, I can click on that too (when I stand right next to it)." I think it took me 4 or 5 hours in total to complete it.

I had the same issue this morning.

Have played it for quite a while now. The difficulty of the puzzles increases and are not anymore confined to a single scene.

yes, because I don't follow the webcomic or anything penny arcade related for that matter (except for these games). -

Something weird happened to me today when I was listening to the podcast. I was waiting for a train at the train station. The moment that video games song started a guy about 10 meters away from me began to dance a bit on the beat of the song. I'm almost sure he was listening in on the podcast through the bluetooth signal. They guy that was dancing was old enough to be young and into the arcade scene when this song came out (although the Netherlands didn't have an arcade scene). -
Please, don't give me one!

I don't think it was a frustrating cliffhanger, it had quite some closure, but it wasn't a final closure. -
I burned my invite, and then put it through the shredder
