you can easily beat that record by starting from the back of the store
  5. well.. that's what happens when you get old, it becomes more difficult to think and process new information
  6. Couriers are fucking shit

Argh... I hope the couriers that are going to deliver my new hardware next week are not shit.
  7. Couriers are fucking shit

Well, I could have told you to never ever let somebody else transport an assembled case. Casings are not designed to handle the stress of standard package transportation. Harddrives aren't secured as tight as you'd think, a bunch of hard blows will loosen the screws or even rip the screw thread to pieces. But yes, parcel services are often complete shit. It's actually amazing that we accept that we can't hold them accountable for damaging the goods.
  8. Why would I want to see Ebert's Fool? Or is he the fool?
  9. This game was build with the same technology as Mass Effect and Gears of War. I tried the game once, but found it absolutely unplayable.
  10. Journey (thatgamecompany's next thing)

What's love got to do, got to do with it? I don't really get it. What's the goal/quest?

You must see Leslie Nielson in Forbidden Planet, that movie is nice.
  14. wtf? seriously, that can only be a bad disguise in some kind of humorous game
  15. Mass Effect 2

What was the previous DLC? there some some free DLC recently right? I downloaded and installed it, but haven't come around to actually play it.
  16. Recently completed video games

Just finished Borderlands. I have somewhat mixed feelings about this game so it's a (but a good , almost a ). I competed all quests as far as I know. Most of them are quite tedious, although some of the side quests are interesting. Overall the world is quite boring, not a lot of interesting sights. It's more or less the same stuff all over. At the end there is some change, or at least, there was an opportunity to do interesting things. But the whole vault thingy is just as boring as the rest of the world, just different kind of rocks. One of the things that annoyed the shit out of me was the respawning. I usually clean out a complete area and then continue to the next. You often have to backtrack, and when you return to the area you cleaned out 10 minutes ago, new enemies are there. That's quite annoying. Luckily I was a soldier and quickly chose for the support gunner class where ammo regenerates. The only thing left was to find good guns, and boy are there a lot of guns out there. And sometimes it's quite difficult to choose which of the guns to use. Anyway, most of the quest are quite similar. Go to X and kill Y. Or go to X and pick up N times Y. Go to X and pull lever Y and Z. Go to X and talk to Y. Although the difficulty of the quests vary from a walk in the park, to a serious pain in the ass. And it has nothing to do with the associated level. When I was level 30 I did a level 27 mission that was seriously difficult, and right after that I did a level 31 mission that barely took some effort. But the absolute worst thing of the game would be the ending. It took me a little over 26 hours to complete the game. And a lot of that time was spend on traveling, either by car, or backtracking by foot. Once in a while you get a notice that person X has new missions.... great, wtf was X again? Usually it's in a completely different section of the world. I haven't played the game in multiplayer. But afaik the concept is quite cool as you can jump into multiplayer right from the singleplayer game. I also tried Mad Moxxi's something something DLC for Borderlands. But.. ugh.. it's a series of arena matches. If there is something I really dislike in normal singleplayer games, then it's arena matches. The normal Borderlands game already had 2x3 arena quests. And this DLC is nothing but that? Seriously, cut that out people. If I wanted to play single player arena matches I would play any of the Unreal Tournament games. Maybe this DLC is fun in multiplayer. Anyway... I also have the Dr Ned DLC which at least has normal quests.
  17. Math FPS shooter

    lol .... "Concerned Parent"
  18. a new episode, one with Nick? ah crap... guess the universe is going to end
  19. Injuries That Prevented Gaming.

I still think it's weird that some left handed people use the mouse with their left hand. That much be quite annoying when you want to buy a mouse.
  20. Life

Damn... a few hours ago a real death scream came from a good friend of mine. He doesn't have long to live. Sure, I saw it coming, but I was planning to replace him next month. But I guess I have to speed up some things. I'm talking of course about a computer. It has served me as router/gateway for the past 9+ years. Sure, I could replace the disk that's about to die, but it's one of those old PATA disks and it'll take a time to 'dd'. Besides, I want one of those silent, more energy efficient HTPC I can also hook up to my AVR and TV thingy. But now the big problem... trying to figure out what to put into that thing. It should be as fanless as possible, if I want fans I'd join facebook. Ha! I'm quite content with how well this old system worked out. I replaced most of its internals in time, except for the 2 network cards. And all that time I didn't reinstall the OS. GNU/Linux is quite nice that way. Replace the motherboard and cpu? just make sure you have a prepared kernel. Anyway.... new HTPC ... computers have become so difficult these days... I hope this old thing stays alive until all the parts come in.
  21. XCOM returns

I don't know, but something really looks off. They world is really clean, it looks fake. But the gun and the alien stuff looks realistic. I'm really getting a weird vibe from this. If that was the goal, then it's nicely done.
  22. iPhone 4

That's exactly what Steve Jobs wants.
  23. Back to the Future

I assume it would only involve voice acting which is less intensive. But then again, Marty would now sound like a 50 year old. And with Marty at that age Doc would be really really old.
  24. Telltale Jurassic Park

I think I would prefer a more realistic style. But maybe that's because I really want to explore a beautifully looking island.
