I guess the sarcasm tags don't work

I prefer the more future and outer space stuff from Dr Who. For example the The Impossible Planet and The Satan Pit are amongst by favorites.

That's because the sequel isn't worth it

so... what's the railwayplan? -
I knew it. I just received my credit card bill, and what'd you expect? Right... a 5 euro charge from Sony on the 17th of April. So, yeah.... my credit card has been used on PSN around the time of the hack. of course this has nothing to do with the Stacking DLC I bought at the time

Geohotz and a lot of other PS3 hackers where not out to break (something which is broken by design) the DRM to run illegitimate copies. That Sony and Microsoft decided to sell their hardware at a loss to get a return on the games sold, then it's their decision and possible problem if it doesn't work out. You don't see people that contributed to, for example, BSD licensed software complaining that Microsoft and Sony took their effort and never gave back. People try to get Linux running on even more restrictive devices, like mobile phones. Besides, 256 RAM isn't that low as you think it is. Also, Sony received a huge tax exemption by adding the OtherOS functionality to their console. Because with that they sold it as a specialized Personal Computer rather than an entertainment device.

I don't get the point you are making. so, it is ok for product manufacturer to apply arbitrary limits on the product you bought after you bought it? It's ok for the manufacturer to remove features of a product you bought after you bought it? I believe in the right to tinker. No, I wouldn't pay $1000 for a PS3. It's simply not worth that much money. But when I buy a product I do expect that I can do anything with that product I want to. Sure. I'd lose things like warranty when I break the seal.

I don't. Having two tabaccos was just too confusing, so I use the same name as here. -
Here in India quite some people at the office didn't even knew about it.

I'm not pro piracy. But I am on geohotz' side concerning that conflict.

The most prominent malware case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony_BMG_copy_protection_rootkit_scandal And then there was been the issues with certain versions of their copy protection system used by games which disrupted CD recorders or some advanced CD players, this happened with both SecuROM and some of the audio CD copy protections. The latter violated the CD standard and Philips demanded Sony not to label those discs as CompactDisc (because they were not). And the faulty battery issue: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sony#Laptop_batteries_dysfunction It was quite big news that a lot of laptop manufacturers had a battery recall. All those batteries were made by Sony.

I am aware that there are rules you should follow, but that doesn't mean that Sony did it. To me Sony isn't a trust worthy company, and it's not just the sleazy EULAs they try to hide behind, or the way they try to get away with violating customer rights. Or the fact that they have been removing functinality from already bought products. It is also the fact that they have been spreading malware, and disrupting non-sony hardware people owned. And there is of course their shady business practices like fake film critics that give low ratings for films of competing studios, the plan to break the lives of people (/activists) critical of their company, or their failed attempt to hide the faulty battery issue.

(color mine) that's a straight out lie, they request the CVC code when you make a purchase. ok, for joining PSN they don't request it, but they don't request a creditcard number either.
