  3. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

Red Dwarf is still one of my favorite series. But why listen to me, listen to Patrick Stewart about Red Dwarf: HKw6Z0CCNtY
  4. Life

It's just like most other airports. So the most interesting you can do is look out of the window.
  5. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

Lol, same here Although, I believe "milliways" should have been there.
  6. Plug your shit

Neat. I'm going to try to see if there's a way I can use that somewhere in the business software I work on It feels a bit hacky/ad-hoc to me though. Have you ever thought about making it more generic? Maybe a bit more like a jquery plugin?
  7. Life

Yeah, so, 1st word issues. Some asshole delivery guy/woman is claiming that I, and 10 colleagues, where not at the office today between 12:00 and 18:00. They were supposed to deliver my DXHR today. But they didn't, because according to them, nobody was at the office. So they will probably try again tomorrow, and of course fail because there really isn't anybody at the office. This of course would result in my order being send back because of "2" failed deliveries. The delivery person is probably a lazy fuck that wanted to go to home at 17:00 and simply decided to screw me and claim I wasn't at home. Lets see how this one will play out.
  8. Why So Serious Sam 3?

    R to RELOAD?
  9. Blocks That Matter: An Ode To All "Blocky" Game?

I really don't like Big Mamma. Does anyone know what game this music track is based on? It sounds very familiar. Actually, it's not just that track. Most track contain that same melody.
  10. Recently completed video games

That huge bomber moth thingy you had to kill in a side quest was way more difficult than the endboss
  11. Deus Ex 3

ffs.. just received an updated delivery date for my special edition, it's now over 3 weeks (i.e. never). So I cancelled that order, and placed it some where else, a bit more expensive, but ah.. well. I hope this works out.
  12. Eric Chahi's Project Dust

I'm not buying it. I have no trust in Ubisoft.
  13. Deus Ex 3

Yes, it's absolutely great. I specially enjoy how everybody from NA is tweeting about it.
  14. Fallout: New Vegas

That's actually quite a nice part of New Vegas, you really have to make a few tough decisions. From the start I quickly knew I didn't want to side with the Legion. But for the other factions I eventually had to make the tough decision and pick one. I liked how they did that. It's only a shame that the outcome doesn't matter a lot for the non-legion endgames.
  15. Blocks That Matter: An Ode To All "Blocky" Game?

Almost half way. The puzzles are starting to get to the level were you will need to start planning ahead. One screw-up and you can redo it all. The first 15 levels or so were a walk in the park, now I often have to redo a level.
  16. One's tediousness isn't the other's tediousness. I spend 36 steam hours in Just Cause. A lot of that time was spend on tedious things, but I had fun doing so. I enjoyed messing around with the game mechanics. I've done similar things in Vice City, San Andreas, Assassin's Creed. But I didn't enjoy the similar messing around in inFamous because the game mechanics for messing around where not as good. Of course these are things you can do beside the main game, well most of the part. Ok, maybe a different example. Quite a lot of games include an arena section. This is nothing but filler or "padding" to make the game longer. Arena segments are easy to create and can add a lot of time to a game's length. But they suck. Darksiders, R&C Crack in Time, Fable, etc. contain pure arena segments. A lot of other games try to cover them up with some window dressing, but in their core it remains fighting against a few waves of enemies (or up to X minutes) in a closed environment and then do it another few times. It's a very lazy and tedious game mechanic (for me).

If you understand the following picture, then you're old
  18. Hmpf, what does Tim know. Brutal Legend wasn't too long, it was just wrong with the RTS stuff. They created a really awesome world, but I think they didn't put it to good use. There should have been more variety in the "missions". Seriously... this is by the people that brought us Psychonauts, and they pull a 480 and dumb down variety (but still create a really awesome gameworld).
  19. I don't know about games getting too long, for me it's more getting too tedious. I don't know if it's a recent development (i.e. artificial lengthening by adding tedious crap) or just me. But if I look at the time I've spend on New Vegas, it's clearly not games being long.
  20. Movie/TV recommendations

I saw Fast Five, or The F5st and The F5rious 5. What a dumb movie. I think I actually got even dumber than I already was by watching that movie. But it does have some enjoyable action. Vin Diesel vs Dwane Johnsen was but should have been a different movie.
  21. General Video Game Deals Thread

but you can pay with actual moneys, and even through paypal, that's a major plus
  22. damn it... so I need to play it? Weird thing though. I have a lot of unfinished telltale games. I did finish the Wallace & Gromit and BTTF seasons. But on the level of S&M and Monkey Island I'm quite under performing. Uh... what? Actually... I can't remember how it ended. Are you talking about the rather mediocre stroll through the quite awesome looking environment? Or the rather dumb boss battle? Or what happened after that (which I cannot remember).
  23. General Video Game Deals Thread

oh right, it's out for PC too... I should buy it and play it
  24. I Am Alive

    Ah yes, Uncharted without color
