Mein Thumbcraft—IdleT Dedicated Minecraft Server
elmuerte replied to MrHoatzin's topic in Multiplayer Networking
I'm thinking a gigantic castle in the shape of a thumb. -
I gave up at the first boss fight. I clearly have the wrong stuff in my inventory to beat that boss. And I'm not going to play from start again. Worst AGR evar.

so 1.8.1 on Tuesday, and 1.8.2 on Wednesday. So Thursday will be the reroll of idlemc?
-

aerther would be awesome, but the moon was boring. That other mod with the windmils was great

Because I was quite happy with the quality and service Dell offered with my previous machine. If it wasn't for the shitty seagate disk it would have been just plug and play rather than assembling and installing the lot. Last time I assembled a system (not counting the NAS, which is a synology system that just needed disks) it took me quite some time to figure out all the parts I wanted. And that system was only a simple HTPC. A high(er) end workstation would simply take a lot of more time, I think. Come to think of it, this Dell is the 3rd system I bought this year. But now I'm really done for a while. Got my HTPC, NAS, workstation and netbook. I could use a new monitor though. And a new keyboard... keyboards are really annoying to buy, most keyboards have the wrong key layouts, too many dumb function keys, laptop style buttons, etc. yes, I'm very picky

I'm not sure yet. I'd like mobs, but not when I have to fence half the world and light up the place to secure areas. It would be great if you could be able to clear areas from respawning mobs.

The last Futurama episode is absolutetively awesome.:tup: I especially enjoyed the 8bit segment.

So my new workstation was delivered today. A Dell XPS 8300. So far, I'm not really happy with my purchase. It's a bit of a let down. My old workstation was also an XPS, a XPS 420 to be precise. But because it's starting to die I decided to get a new one. But the XPS 8300 clearly isn't of the same quality as the XPS 420 was. The case construction is no where near the quality that of the 420. It feels more like one of those shitty HP machines than the performance beast that the XPS used to be. The XPS 420 had proper cooling and airflow design. None of that is present in the 8300. I guess Dell wants the XPS people to move to Alienware or something. But that stuff is ridiculously expensive. Worst part of my 8300 is that they used a Seagate disk (next to the WesternDigital). I've never had a positive experience with seagate, and this is no exception. The disk makes a very annoying sound (like a truck which is about 1km away backing up). So I trashed the RAID0 setup and disconnected the seagate drive. A tedious reinstall later I'm back in Windows and the machine doesn't make the crappy noise. Interesting side note, the WD alone performs better than the RAID0 config with the seagate. Anyway... I think I'm also going to get a new disk, probably a WD Black. I was already going to get a 8GB more ram, the Dell option for 16GB (vs 8GB) was +200 euros, which is just insane. I think next time I will simply build my own system again.

You might like part of the first season, but warehouse 13 is quite different from Eureka. Warehouse 13 is often a bit like "The librarian". They just don't put much effort in the story of artifacts. Currently it's more about the relations between the characters and the weak story arch.

My current workstation doesn't load fast enough for that. Maybe with my new workstation that arrives Friday I can resort to that way of cheating (death).
-
Nope, same old stuff. Actually, it's even worse than before.

Challenging?! No, it's not, just frustrating. The first boss fight it pretty much concluded after 30 seconds or so. And most-likely, you died. A challenging boss fight is something that puts you on the edge of your seat for a minute or two and just make it the 2nd (or maybe 3rd time). It's not retrying it 20 times to figure out what to do and then eventually win using quite some luck. Also, boss fights should fit in the rest of the game. The first boss fight didn't feel like part of deus ex for me.

So far I was able to use it twice. A button will show up during conversations, and then you simply select the proper option based on whether somebody is alpha, beta or gamma. Anyway... I just beat the first boss, it was a barrel of fun (get it ). Seriously, it sucked big time. Sneaking through the whole plant, and I just barge into that room like like a 16 year old rich girl on her birthday party.

won't valve flag you some time when using that mod?

It's rather unqualified realistic representation of a virtual world. The games I mentioned have a world that contains more than just the stuff relevant to the game. (I disqualified the Bethesda games because there I'm pretty much always the center of attention). But in the games I mention I had the feeling that I was passing by, and other things were going on. And in contrast to some games, in these games the "other stuff" also progressed while I was doing other stuff.

the excessive bloom hurts my eyes... also... wth!? boob physics... ok, but ass physics!? come on, a fighter like that should have a firm, non-jiggly ass.

I thought it was scheduled for 2011-11-11 11:11:11.111 UTC+11

Or flesh eating whatchamacallits? Spider charts from Australia go from "dangerous" to "deadly".

You know, I've started to appreciate DX1 more and more. Graphics have improved a lot since DX1, but other than that... gameplay, game logic? not that much. If I look back for pinnacles of game worlds I think of DX1, System Shock 2, and Anachronox. Ion Storm was on to something. I'm not sure about it. It makes things easier, but it is a bit uncanny valley. Even with highlighting, there is searching involved. I think they did a good job in doing the highlighting and still make you search for things. Also, I think, I'm not sure, that I encountered a thing that was not highlighted.

Nothing wrong with boob physics... well... I mean... bodies being subjective to forces and stuff. But seriously: ?!?! NovwODTcLtY

Not sure about the DLC comments, but the rest is quite true. The worst part is probably that all quests have 2 end results, either you do what they want, or you fail the quest. Also, I think the world is less interactive. But, nonetheless, it's still a great game.
