Minerva's Scoops (a.k.a Minerva's Den), the Bioshock 2 DLC, is half off on Microsoft XBox Live Games for Windows Market Live (XBLA and PC versions): http://marketplace.xbox.com/en-US/Product/Minervas-Den/00000000-0000-400e-80cf-00065454085c (also, I didn't need Microsoft points stuff, I could simply use PayPal)

You can assume Steam will take about 30%. The exact details are not known (due to NDA) and they can change per game/publisher. But the usual cut by various retailers is 30%. I don't know if buying directly from them for a Steam key gives them more money. (empfhasis mine) I just bought it direct from them (it's handled by Humble Bundle) and you get the steam key right away (so you just have to wait untill the 11th). Also as pre-order bonus you get the same stuff and you get on gog.com. So, it's best to buy it via "them" directly or via gog.com.

Three Moves Ahead joins Idle Thumbs
elmuerte replied to Roderick's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
I think it's quite ironic. Three moves ahead, but beaten to the punch by idle thumbs I guess that sounded better in my head. -
actually.. I think the best part of ME1 was exploring the strange and unknown worlds in search of what was going to destroy the world.

Why is that?

Jaws 3

Why not? The JVM is a proper and rather stable and performant environment to develop for. It's runs on a shit load of systems (although J2ME is a P.O.S.). Java is an "ok" language, but you can use a lot of other languages with the same target (i.e. JVM): JPython, JRuby, Scala, Groovy, etc. Java is used a lot in business systems.

Now I need to watch The Chronicles of Riddick again this weekend. I really liked that movie, the best thing is the rather over-the-top evilness of the badguys. There aren't enough movies with true evil badguys. Even the James bond movies suck these days. Although Die Another Day had a proper badguy with an evil lair and stuff.

Yeah, it's quite ok. The SP campaign that is. I didn't really like the challenges, which is mostly what the DLC is about.

Watched the videos ... excellent stuff. I loved Sean's homebarrel story. It actually never came to me to stash stuff in barrels. I always to assumed them to be shitty barrels and lose my stuff.

FFS... so I accepted the 20 euros discount and requested ME3, in the beginning of the week. So I told them the delivery address and they were going to come back to me with a link to pay the remaining 17 euros. Today I received a response that they are out of stock of the regular ME3 version and it'll take a while before they get new stock. Seriously, wtf... Am I not allowed to play ME3 or something?

Yes, yes. But I still buy physical copies.

No, I just think the slow motion kill cam gets quite annoying after a while. It's fine for when it's the finishing move in a large battle. But when I'm just passing through some foes it's annoying.
-
I hope it includes an option to turn it off

I'll probably get my copy of ME3 and the end of this week, and I'm already outraged about the possibility of an ending.
-
That's because there was also a PC release, which was "HD" back in the day.
-
Jep, that's pretty much the thing you do. Everybody I played with so far used the same method. Anyway... I'm a level 3 white journey man now.
-
Yep. Absolutely ridiculous to base a bonus on something as arbitrary as review scores.

I rather enjoy people exercising the freedom to end their life in a controlled (and unmessy manor). I see it as one of the ultimate forms of freedom in life and I really do not understand why this should be prohibited in any way. So this documentary is probably to convince people that freedom includes freedom in life and death. Even though I don't need convincing, I'll put it on my queue of "shit to watch before death".
