  1. Jerks in high places in the game industry

I've heard about those clauses before, it's really terrible. A better clause would be non-competing activities outside of work. claiming ownership of something that was created in somebody's personal time seems like theft to me, specially when there's no compensation. Luckily in the Netherlands those clauses are illegal. Even non-compete clauses are borderline acceptable.
  2. Leisure Suit Larry in "gimme your money"

I thought The Da Vince Code was based on Broken Sword 1
  3. Leisure Suit Larry in "gimme your money"

I think I will hold on to my money to see what projects are announced next week.
  4. Leisure Suit Larry in "gimme your money"

Oh come on... I'm not made out of moneys.
  5. What would Molydeux

Oh, that could very well be it. Anyway... molydeux. There are seriously way too many games to try out.
  6. What would Molydeux

The internet didn't teach me anything about gender presence. Since I joined in 1997 I never really thought about what gender the others were, there were just names, often rather gender neutral and certainly race neutral.
  7. Mass Effect 3

When I arrived at the office today a copy of Mass Effect 3 was delivered for me. The customer support guy didn't even tell me the posted it... the also didn't notify me in any way on how to pay the outstanding 16 euros. The package did contain an invoice when the total was reduced to zero. So.... did I now get Mass Effect 3 for free?! Anyway... installed it after some messing around. I had to restart the installer after install that origin crap. What a broken installer. So, with the "normal" version I'm missing out on the day-1 DLC that was included with the collector's edition? And they was 10 euro for that DLC?! Sad thing is, I probably won't be able to enjoy this game this week because I'm on standby :/
  8. Uncharted 3: the Uncharteningest

I liked UC2 more than UC3; but that's mainly because of the background story and environments.
  9. Leisure Suit Larry in "gimme your money"

Leisure Suit Larry is the Porky's/Revenge of the Nerds/American Pie of games. I enjoyed playing the latter few releases, I tried the first one once, but found it rather brutal on the difficulty curve. I didn't even know there was a VGA version of LSL1.
  10. What would Molydeux

am I the only one that finds that remark a bit weird?
  11. Uncharted 3: the Uncharteningest

I thought those supernatural fights were very unbalanced. 90% of my deaths of the whole game were in those 3 fights.
  12. What would Molydeux

I like You Are The Road: http://whatwouldmolydeux.com/display.php?GameID=235
  13. Plug your shit

    and yet, it moves
  14. Jerks in high places in the game industry

To me it sounded more like damage control, specially the last part of his apology. Yeah, he was doing stuff for kids, years and years ago. If you check his linkedin profile you see some different things: http://www.linkedin.com/in/danporter
  15. Trine 2

But you do have to use the knight to fight most enemies. And the thief for most of the climbing. But the thief does have the least prominent role, I just use her for the final part after stacking some boxes with the wizard. Anyway... so far I'm loving it. It's also great that you can quit at any time and don't lose level progress. This was really annoying in Trine 1.
  16. Your first gaming device...

My first video games were played on this machine (an IBM XT "clone" made by Philips): It was also the machine I started programming on
  17. Wasteland 2

To be fair, that excuse is bullshit. They probably didn't scope the game very well and had too much stuff going on which took too long to develop all. So at a certain point they were already way over development time and the publisher wanted them to wrap it up into a game. But I don't know Obidian as a developer of buggy games. At least, not like I know Bethesda.
  18. Trine 2

Trine 2 is now 50% off on steam
  19. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

yes it has been posted before
  20. Mass Effect 3

    COD BLOPS?
  21. Life

No, it's more a paradox than a Schrodinger
  22. Sonic 4

ugh... bought it today because it was rather cheap on steam... instant regret! This game is quite a piece of shit, specially if you compare it to the classic part of Sonic Generations. First of all, it doesn't work with DirectInput gamepads, just with XInput gamepads (i.e. XBox controller). You could fix this by installing some of the XInput emulators for DirectInput gamepads. But besides that... the sound is terrible. The graphics are quite shit. And the controls are terrible (although it could be a bit because of the XInput emulator I use).
  23. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

They should give him a present which is an outfit that makes him look like Cartman. And when he puts it on he figures it out and gets angry and starts to sound like Cartman himself. It would be comedy gold.
  24. Rovio buys Futuremark Game Studio

Rovio, because they make actual games.
  25. Life

I usually drink Nespresso®©(z), or at work coffee from one of those automatic "espresso" machine (the consumer version). Moka-pot coffee is also great, but it's quite a lot of work. I used to drink regular filter coffee when I was a student and way back when I lived at my parents. But now I prefer high-pressure brewed coffee. And I drink my coffee with just coffee, none of that weird stuff like milk and sugar. Drinking coffee black makes you really appreciate good coffee much more when you put stuff in it.
