hmm... not the kind of exploration I had in mind. Also "pre-alpha"? So, prototype? Because pre-alpha doesn't make much sense.

that's only a little bit creepy

Funded! Update #10 (for backers) has some new gameplay footage. True diablo 1 like graphics and non of that neon diablo 3 stuff.

ah... the era when software development was still easy

I'm giving up on Twin Peaks, it doesn't click for me. It's way too much soap and not enough detective stuff. I do like how most characters are set up, and the occasional weirdness.

I watched the other 2 endings of Mass Effect 3. And I understand why people were bitching. You received more or less the same ending cinematic, there are only a few differences in the stuff you see. However, there are massive differences implied by your choice. So I still think they were bitching.

Mass Effect 3 Yes, a . The game was nothing but chores and dumb fetch side side quests. And when I mean dumb fetch side quests I mean even dumber than actually searching for something in a dungeon. You sort of find things by planet scanning. As for the chores, there's no space exploration. Just going to various factions and do their chores so that they will join you in the fight. There's barely any mystery in this game. The main reason I liked ME1 was because of the mystery, and the space exploration. ME2 had much less, and ME3 pretty much none. The planet resource scanning in ME2 was dumb compared to the more or less repetitive Mako-drops from ME1. But in ME3 they made it even dumber. You have to scan galaxies, and then maybe you could scan a planet to find something. Scanning the galaxies eventually call in the reapers that will chase you for a short while (until you leave that galaxy). Quite dumb. In short, this is the worst game in the trilogy. As for the ending of ME3, I like it. I chose the middle ending (have yet to see the other 2). I think it was a satisfying ending to the story. Sure, there are a bunch of unanswered questions (like wtf was happening to the illusive man). I really don't understand the whole fuss around the ending. There are numerous games with much shittier endings.

Weird Worlds: Return to Infinite Space is an interesting game. It's a fun game to play for 30 minutes or something.

In BethSoft RPGs you are always the guy that the whole world depends on, and you save the shit out of the world. Now there will be 1000s of others who are the same savior?

How long will you give a game to "convince" you?
elmuerte replied to JonCole's topic in Video Gaming
I do the same as Thompson; sometimes I return to a game months later. But usually I put in hours and hours(*) before I consider to stop playing it. It really depends on the game, some games I can play a long time; others I can only play for like 30 minutes in a row. *) it feels like hours and hours, but sometimes it's barely an hour in total. -
A shame that the idle thumbs pod cast wasn't up yet. Because this would have been awesome hot scoops to announce on the pod cast.

Use the instant kill bug where you use the take down move after he jumps over a wall. In some cases that's the only way to get past that guy without loading a very early savegame.

I've been watching Twin Peaks this weekend, it's a bit too soapy for me. But I do like the often bizarre elements. My favorite so far was the dream sequence with the dancing midget.

This weekend I found like 5 villages, but I'm not sure where they are. -
Legend of Grimrock - Tile based Dungeon Crawler!
elmuerte replied to Scrobbs's topic in Video Gaming
For me Stonekeep is still better than Grimrock. Grimrock pretty much lacks a compelling story. -
