Year Walk... I have no idea what I played. The puzzles are quite obsucre, and weird.
  4. It looks like I finished this game. I did not expect the game to end at that point, especially not in that way. I have no idea what to make of the ending. So much stuff left unexplored. A real shame. The puzzle mini games were tedious as fuck. Luckily you can skip them if you want.

only the tetromino puzzles were repetitive for me
  7. Grand ThVmb Auto PC

well, you started without me this week...
  8. Btw, RockPaperShotgun also has an interesting piece of hacking in GTA Online: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2015/08/13/gta-online-hacks/
  9. GTA5 MP hackers are there a lot. Some are fun, quite a bunch of plain annoying. I think it was Patters and me who at some point joined a biker gang created by a hacker. He insisted on everybody to wear the same/similar biker clothes and he spawned bikes for us all. I think we were with like 10 people riding around the city.

  12. Town of Salem

Submerged This was actually a bit of a let down. Exploring the submerged city was less fun as I hoped for. It's pretty much nothing but climbing a building to collect 12 crates which will progress the main story. And some "secret" collecting to get the story about the city. The stories are told via nothing but single frame pictures, or rather icons. Which is fine. There's some sea animals which you encounter. The dolphins are quite nice and they swim with you. But besides that, there really isn't anything else going on. The climbing become tedious at some point, especially when you have to backtrack a bit in order to collect a "secret" which you missed. Remember Me I did not expect this game to be mostly about fighting. I thought it was more about collecting and messing around with people's memories. The fighting wasn't that bad most of the time. The combo's are quite accessible because fighting it done pretty much with just 3 buttons (punch, kick, dodge). There are some really annoying fights, especially when you have multiple enemies which hurt when you hit them. And then there are the dumb QTEs in all but the last boss fight. The world is really beautiful. It's a shame that you traverse a linear path through it, and that it's mostly scaling buildings and corridors to reach the next fight "arena".
  15. Video Game Pricing - Fair or Not Fair

I quite often buy games at "full" price. I prefer to get physical copies when available, and of course I will buy from the cheapest trustworthy (online) retailer close to me. I also buy those overpriced collectors edition when they contain interesting physical parts. But that's only for games I'm instantly going to install and play. Games I might want to play some time will be bought when I really want to play it at that point, or when it's discounted. The latter usually happens earlier because of the huge backlog. I also buy pretty much every humble bundle and pay at least the tier to get everything even though I might have most of the games already (this really isn't helping my backlog). Do I think games are worth $60. Yes, a lot of them are. But the thing is, people will more easily buy 2 games at $30 than 1 game at $60. Especially considering how some studios have been putting out games. You cannot bank on people like me. You also needs to reach out to people who will probably give your game a try at $40. There's a lot of price psychology going on here. At $60 you will get less sales, dropping quickly to $40 might give the indication it's not that good and they want to rake in as much sales while the title is still actively discussed. Drop to $40 too late and you will disappear in obscurity. DLC has similar effects. You basically want to release your first DLC about a month after release when active players start to drop. The DLC will give you a spotlight again. But making it too expensive will scare people away. A second DLC can be release about half a year later for a short revival. If you release the second DLC too soon people will get the feeling they are being nickel and dime-d. Having a season pass construction often pushes people into the direction of "I'll wait till the goty version". Conclusion... you're fucked either way with selling games.
  16. Breckon's Moonshot: http://www.twitch.tv/idlethumbs/c/2218121 But twitch is being annoying and won't let me skip to the good part. :/

That's the because the demo is a whole new game. I don't recall many games where the demo is not part of the game. The original Rise of the Triads demo had it's own set of levels which did not return in the original game. But other than that I cannot recall a single game.
  18. Movie/TV recommendations

Mr Robot started out interesting being more realistic hacker stuff going on. But that pretty much went out of the window in favor of drug abuse, corporate power plays, etc.

Dream The game has potential, but it's rather poorly executed. Quite a few bugs, a couple really block your progress in a puzzle. The first part is quite good, but I get the idea that the developers got bored with the game and rushed the rest to completion. Chaos on Deponia Just way too many obscure puzzles. The story couldn't really interest me, it did not feel very coherent. A lot of humor and jokes were forced and thereby removing the fun of it. It's like a modern day Simon the Sorcerer, but not as good.
  20. Games w/ Level Editors

The new Unreal Tournament game has a level editor. Well, basically the whole engine is free to use for anyone to play around with.
  21. The inaccessible rooms are bad indeed. I've seen single cell rooms with no possible way in. But not being able to 100% a level because you are not fully geared is ok with me. I've encountered parts in levels where I could not return. It thought me no look before I drop.
  22. General Video Game Deals Thread

Really? Yes, it's true that PC games have become more expensive in the past 20 years if you ignore inflation. AAA PC games were between 40 and 50 euros 20 years ago, right now there are on par with console games (for RRP) at 50 to 60 euros. But in that case you're ignoring inflation. But besides the big studio games, there's a shit load of awesome games between 10 and 20 euros.
  23. Favorite Level in a video game

ugh... Facing Worlds. Really overrated. Bluff Eversmoking, now that was a level.

Just finished Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Like other have said, this game has none of that interesting "between missions" stuff from the New Order going on, or interesting story progression. Basically it's a classic FPS game from the later 90s early 2000 in it's set up, but with some modern things like the cover mechanic. It was ok, except for one big thing. The final boss battle is absolutely pure unfiltered shit. I died 18 times throughout the whole game, I think 10 times (or more) were during the boss fight. The boss fight in the New Order sucked, but this one is much more annoying. It took me 3 days to finally get through it.
