  1. Lego

I'm not really fond of the licensed LEGO sets. But I understand that they need to do it commercially because they have a shit load of competition by Video games. I also don't like the weird special bricks which are pretty much a whole constructions. It's a bit lazy and also limits its use. I played a lot with LEGO as a kid, and I didn't stop at making just the thing in the instructions.
  2. General Video Game Deals Thread

First 2 episodes of On a rain slick precipice of darkness are also cheap on steam right now, 3 euros.
  3. General Video Game Deals Thread

No "sale" but a special temporary promotion. I just played about an hour of Rainslick episode #3 and it's to far. Plays like one of those old JRPGs from the SNES era.
  4. General Video Game Deals Thread

Penny Arcade's On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness 3 about 4 euros. Includes Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII until 2nd of July.

  6. There will at least be a 24th and 25th season of The Simpsons.
  7. Movie/TV recommendations

I just watched Jurassic Park 3. I don't get this movie, where is Goldblum? What sense is there making a Jurassic Park movie without Goldblum.

Then Chrome has a bug, because the forum's HTML clearly says: <link rel="shortcut icon" href='http://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/favicon.ico' />
  9. I guess Simpsons is simply too old to be axed because it didn't meet the expected viewer amount. On the plus side, they did mention a great Simpsons game: Hit & Run. I should replay that some time.

Renegade Ops Finally decided to finish this game (and the coldstrike DLC). The only real negative point I can think of is that every primary mission is timed. So in quite some cases you cannot finish the secondary missions. But for the rest it was an absolute blast. When the game came out I also played some coop with other thumbs, it's just as fun.

  15. Receiver

I'll have to retry this game tonight. You really need a dark room because the game is very dark and there's no gamma adjust. Anyway, I played a few rounds and the game is quite brutal. Damn those hovering tasers. So far I made it up to 2 out of 11 tapes. The controls are a bit shit.
  16. Movie/TV recommendations

I'm disliking it more and more when I keep in mind that this is supposed to be inside the computer world and has things to do with Tron. (The helicopters are the worst offenders so far). If I just disregard this all and see it as something happening in a futuristic alternate reality it's a bit better. But so far the whole story/plot is quite tedious. It doesn't contain much interesting stuff and most characters are without any depth. I guess I will have to wait and see where they're going to take this.
  17. Receiver

Haven't played it, but it looks quite nice. I'll give it a try.
  18. They do. But Windows doesn't get it, so the mice will battle for control of the cursor.
  19. Mass Effect 3

unless they also made those battles more fun I will probably pass

Whatever you do, don't stop developing stuff. Best approach is: simple but impressive, don't go for the big projects. btw, programming tests for interviews also tell a lot about the company you're applying to. The shittier the test, the worse idea the company with regards to software developers.
  23. That looks hardcore. It's not perma death, you are only banned for 1 month after you die.
  24. Don't like the 3D of the characters. Other than that

Q.U.B.E. I think you can best describe it as a portal like first person puzzle game. Overal it's not that difficult and can be finished within 3 hours. There are 2 annoyingly difficult puzzles right after eachother. That was a bad call. The game more or less lacks a background story, although at the end of the game there's something going on. It would have been nice if they had dressed up the game a bit more. Anyway, it was a fun couple of hours.
