  1. Books, books, books...

If you're looking for something good to read in the vein of cyberpunk but not actually cyberpunk, just a very well imagined sci-fi novel, I suggest The Quantum Thief by Hannu Rajaniemi. The author is Finnish, but wrote the book in English. Surprisingly the writing doesn't suffer at all (I'm sure he got excellent editorial assistance). I'm not saying that if you like Gibson, you'll like this, because I never liked Gibson much.

Fucking Renny Harlin. Sweden gets Ingmar Bergman and we get Renny Harlin.
  3. Hitman: Absolution

Well, the plot doesn't matter and never has. It's all about the missions.
  4. BRINK

Looking at the GB Quick Look, it does look like a Splash Damage game, but not what I was hoping for. I remember liking the first ET way back (though I sucked), but what seemed interesting about this game was the freedom of movement and such. I don't see that at all. Flat maps, slow moving gameplay.
  5. Tribes: Ascend

I don't like the way the gun looks, but I also don't care. It's not important.
  6. L.A. Noire

I don't think I'd pay 40e extra for every game I buy just for the media.
  7. Mass Effect 3

That was a speech for investors, though.
  8. Movie/TV recommendations

Those are my least favourite! I also tend to dislike episodes with several parts, though that's probably because of the previous writer. Many of the seasons ended with really cumbersome wannabe epic episodes.

RPS The Idle Thumbs Podcast :x
  10. Sony Shitshow

Don't knock it until you've tried it.

    Thank you. mr moderator.
  12. Sony Shitshow

You guys all have Playstation insurance?
  13. Ah, he was on the server today. Don't know what he was up to though. Also, I first read that as "my friend Bob Minecraft". I have made a long underwater tunnel with a glass ceiling that glitters in a lovely manner from the ramparts of Hexans' and Imp's castle. It leads to my island that doesn't really have anything yet but looks like a christmas tree.
  14. Sony Shitshow

I'm mostly worried that I've probably used the same password elsewhere and couldn't really be bothered to change it everywhere.
  15. Sony Shitshow

Does that mean my password is safe as long as I didn't use a dictionary word or the like (I use complex gibberish passwords)?
  16. Do you guys use the same names in Minecraft?
  17. I don't have a use for the pumps and stuff, but being able to flood cave systems would be cool.
  18. Dangit, I dug a canal and tried to drown a cavern with seawater, but I guess the water physics are not quite what I expected
  19. I'm such a noob. I keep getting killed and my plans get foiled by creepy crawlies. It took me forever (hours) to learn how to navigate to my site from the spawn!
  20. Sony Shitshow

And that database apparently had passwords and credit card information in unencrypted form. Sony failed to make their system safe enough.
  21. Sony Shitshow

It's completely reasonable to expect huge powerful companies that ask for my information to be able to protect it. I had that expectation and had to have my card cancelled this morning. Then I have to change all of my passwords anywhere, since I can't remember which password I had for PSN and where else I used it. And maybe then move or something because they know my address :X It's fucking atrocious and shouldn't have happened.
  22. Movie/TV recommendations

Spartacus has been a guilty pleasure. It's exploitation (totally ridiculous amounts of sex and violence), but the plots are really good. Very Shakespearian, brutal and manages to keep you on your toes. Well, me in any case, which may not be such an accomplishment.
  23. Yo. I'm brkl and I'd like to make a mine.

  24. I bought this game today. Can I play with you guys?
  25. Good Old GOG

I suspect there's a good chance you'll just die of disappointment instead.
