The Business Side of Video (Space) Games EXCLUSIVELY ON IDLE THUMBS
brkl replied to Henroid's topic in Video Gaming
I was thinking more about the horrid PS3 ads they used to show in theaters. -
I wonder how you make the original ASCII symbols that are used for the eyes, though.
-
I'd put shifty eyes here, but I don't know how to make the symbol.
-
Yeah, that interview is golden. I backed Godus (5£, not enough for a copy) just to reward that spirit.
-
... Are you appropriating my thesis? You already have one of your own.
-
Ahah, oh man.
-
I didn't know those existed.

Isn't that Sony's shtick? -
It's kind of weird. To me it seems like Peter Molyneux just is open enough about his games that the process and change they go through during development is apparent. Of course he shouldn't talk about features he wants in the game in terms of promises, but even games like Syndicate that are dearly loved are nothing like the original plans discussed when they were announced. Black and White wasn't quite what was promised, but it was a pretty unique kind of game that captured my imagination for a while. A ton of safer, more technically successful and probably higher scored games from the same era have failed to imprint themselves in my memory.

Wait, no, put that in the list

Clint Mansell - Death is the Road to Awe

Well, I bought Hotline Miami. It seems that if I don't have a game, I either don't want it or it hasn't been released.

Congratulations, Nappi! My thesis (foreign language board/card gaming as triadic/dynamic interaction that affords rich language use and thus learning) is progressing pretty slowly. I've only got background work done. I'll finish it during my compulsory civilian service next year. I've got 313 ECTS out of the 300 needed for a Master's Once the thesis is done I'll have officially done a year's worth of courses for nothing. Finnish education is weird.

Awwwww This goddamn thread. I'm not reading a hundred posts of "I finished X, it was fine" just in case I might miss something interesting, but it bothers me that I'm missing discussions.
-
That explains so many things.

I felt your posts finality was premature. Otherwise it was satisfactory, even excellent, but the finality of it did not add anything to the experience of reading it.

They just couldn't pull off that level of sexualization with the previous tech ;D -

I dunno, I just googled Cortana and I don't see a huge difference between the different games. -
I sounded more dickish than I meant there. Or maybe that's just how I am.
-
No, let's really drag this out.
-
I wish I was you. Wait 'til you meet Heisenberg (the ghost of the actual Heisenberg, who appears to Walt in his dreams).
-
He'a just a dude who stops your game for no reason and listening to him is so aggravating that the time it takes to skip him feels forever. He even looks less interesting than anyone else in the game.
-
Huh, I preordered this on impulse a while ago, but didn't really expect such a good game.

That's the clothing option Master Chief chose for his pocket woman.
