After clearing the towers and outposts in the first island I haven't had anything fun to do. All the story stuff is just rubbish. Then there's a Why does this game feel the need to force me into corridors and other rubbish that's miles away from where the game actually shines?

I was a dude by a stream. "Hmm, I wonder what she's cooking for dinner..." CHOMP! Crocodile pulls him under. Okay, that was totally a spoiler This island sure has a peculiar mix of wildlife. I think Noah crashed his boat here. Oh, regarding the criticism about the torture subtext... I wasn't really buying it at first (I heard it more as people threatening with torture but not actually doing it), but the goddamn Buck missions turned my head on that issue. Stupid fucking thing to put in this game. The whole body looting business is boring as hell and should have been cut from the game.

Goddamn tomb raiding story missions.

Well, I wouldn't say it's easier when doing a stealthy run. You get more XP and more skills, but if you choose to use the big guns and just rain hell on guys, you'll make short work of any camp.

It feels a bit easy. I've cleared out all of the camps in the first island, which wasn't a huge challenge. It's just so easy to be in control of the situation, especially if you tag everybody before attacking. It was challenging at first, but as soon as you do some hunting and get a few weapons to choose from, most of what you encounter is pretty easy. Unless you decide to turn it into a performance, but I'd much rather feel like I only barely made it than some huge badass killing a hundred dudes without breaking a sweat. I think it would be fine without all the things that give you an unfair edge, like the tagging superpower. I'm still having a lot of fun, though. I guess I should try the hardest difficulty.

Somebody's game just got Greenlighted on Steam. I say somebody, because right now I can't actually remember who worked on it. The game is No Time To Explain.

This game sure is a time sink. It's good.

This really does seem like it's aiming at giving the ailing company some cash flow to help it through a rough spot. They aren't calling it 'indie', so I don't see a problem with it. I wish all publishers sold their games as pay-what-you-want...

When it's pay what you want and they are clearly labeled prototypes, I don't think DoubleFine owes a whole lot to the customers. Some or all of the prototypes may not be fun. It's why you make prototypes.

I just hate that every time you finish one stage of the boss for the first time, you are instantly killed and have to do it again.

Ah, I guess I just haven't been paying attention. Anyway, I wouldn't say they are very similar to the rest of the game. AI behaves in a preprogrammed way, not in a reactive way like in the rest of the game. There is only one solution. It's more like those awful QTE fights in Fahrenheit, except you have to remember the sequence instead of reacting to instructions. In any case, doing the same three seconds a hundred times over is just annoying.

I circumvented the bug through magic, now I got to the final stage of the final boss, but I doubt I'll try to finish it again. Odd that the game got no critique at all regarding the bosses, even though the situation is no different from Deus Ex.

I wouldn't worry about Hack'n'Slash. They are going to be prototypes, and if they don't find a way to make them fun, it's only two weeks and now they know.

Technically, yes, but in practice all languages intensely contextual. Fingerpori is funny because it uncovers the double meanings that generally never occur to us in day to day life. I wonder if everybody at DoubleFine is happy about taking this to the internet. Now instead of Tim Schafer, you have to think about what internet dudes will like. And not everyone will like pitching unfinished ideas to the entire world. I would definitely play it safer, but then again I'm not double fine.

I tend to just forget it's Chris's score. It fits the game so well, I don't have the chance to even think "Hey, Chris did a great job with the music!" Instead I'm just in the zone.

So this is a game about being dropped from a plane, hitting ground and getting shot immediately?
