I think it was mostly the same stuff that you already got when you first bought the game (papercraft, soundtrack, etc.), but still.

You can enter your the Witcher 2 CD key on GOG.com to get a "digital backup" plus all the goodies.

The beta was great fun! Definitely going to buy this game now. Were the enemies in Diablo II significantly tougher than in Diablo III? Or did I just accidentally wander into an area filled with higher level baddies at the very beginning of Diablo II? I remember that there was some ass handing in a burning village and that I never played the game again after that.

They both seem quite shocked. Then again, so would I.

Holy holy! I didn't notice that the bundle included the soundtracks as well! There is always room for more Tomáš Dvořák in my iTunes library.

I want to learn C++, anyone got a good book, book, book recomendation?
Nappi replied to dibs's topic in Idle Banter
I have had courses in Java, C and C++ but I have read any books on programming. The lecture material and code examples on the internet have always been enough for me. Interestingly, I still ended up programming the analysis software for my Master's thesis in Python. The actual Monte Carlo analysis is in Cython (and therefore fast) but the GUI, multiprocessing, array handling and plotting are in hassle free Python, NumPy, Matplotlib. -
The Idle Book Club 1: The Sense of an Ending
Nappi replied to Chris's topic in Idle Book Club Episodes
I certainly hope not! It would sound really weird and confusing AND double the filesize. Plus, I often listen to stuff with one earbud only so I would miss like half the podcasts. -
Hahaha! Not what I was expecting.

Corrected. Shaky cam running, for example, is quite unlike how I observe my surroundings while running. Also, if I tilt my head 90 degrees, this text doesn't become vertical.

Nice. Thanks for sharing! I'm not sure if they are in studio, but I certainly hope so.

I like the idea. As long as it is in mono.

Just finished the game. Great fun. I thought the ending was okay. Because of all the bashing it had already received, I was fully prepared for Assassin's Creed II or Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy level of idiocy and was almost positively surprised by how average the ending actually was.

There is also magnetic paint. It's a must have if you one day decide to become a detective and/or insane. Hanging old photographs and newspaper clippings on your walls has never been easier. (I have no experience with that paint, though.)

I'm looking forward to the forum upgrade so eagerly for exactly this reason.

I'm no Civilization expert, but I would personally start with Civ V. Some of the mechanics have been (positively) streamlined and I think the game would be a more gentle introduction to the series than, say, Civ IV. The combat no being completely stupid is a huge plus, in my opinion.

I haven't played Mass Effect 3 on a console, but the idea of playing this game on PS3 (when you, presumably, have a PC capable of running it) just because of Origin is weird to me. That's just my opinion, though, and you are of course free to play (or not to play) the game on any platform you want.

What a dick. EDIT: Oops.. wrong thread.

I have successfully avoided the multiplayer by downloading ME3 Datapad (on iOS) and sending my ships on a mission every now and then. It is slow but requires practically no active effort, although the program can be quite infuriating at times. I downloaded the thing about a week ago and the multiplier is now at 84%.

Fact: There are more aliens in video games than there are women. But yeah, I agree. The decision is justified in a way, although it feels hilarious to justify anything Assassin's Creed related with believability.

I'm not sure. I try my best not to observe it.
