Yeah. I think that Foucault's Pendulum would have benefited from (gasp) some editing, but it was still a very impressive novel. The long connect-the-historical-dots sections towards the end, in particular, were very hard for me to follow and eventually reduced to a long list of names and places in my head. I would have preferred to hear more about less. Still, the amount of work that must have gone into that novel is staggering. The Name of the Rose, on the other hand, is nearly flawless in my opinion. Which one of Eco's novels should I check out the third?

Don't worry, They will change it eventually based on fan feedback.

A Scandy? I would probably try to bring him up in a conversation to see how see will react.

I bet it will be so disappointing that they are forced to change it later. Oh.. wait..

For fighting crime, obviously.

Some of those alternative covers are gorgeous! I hope the Bioshock Infinite is just a placeholder, though.

Molyneux' Curiosity Botnet will make you cry.

Stealth still works in a way, but instead of slowly inching your way towards the enemy, you have to close the distance fast and cut him down as soon as you have the chance. Or throw something at him first. As for the controls. Definitely mouse+keyboard for me. Can't really imagine getting the same level of precision with the controller.

By creating jokes, you mean repeating the same Monty Python lines over and over again, right?

Holy shit! Congrats Jake and Sean! I'm ashamed to admit that I have only completed the first episode so far. I guess I'll have to finish the game now that it is officially good.

Be careful now or you may end up in one of his cartoons.

Seeing his face in every movie poster and trailer is a bit of a give-away really.

Yeah, it's not available on UK Steam for whatever reason.

Yes. The ending of The Return of the King felt rushed and abrupt as it was.

I actually have no idea what aspects of the story other people take issue with. That was just something that I immediately found off-putting when I first saw the trailer for this game. It's a shame because Far Cry 3 sounds like an excellent game in many respects. I will probably pick it up eventually and somehow try to distance myself from the story or something. Incidentally, it never bothered me that the reapers were killing millions upon millions of people while I was hunting for bargains and solving petty crimes.

"The average dude becoming a hero" part does not bother me at all. I'm just personally sick and tired of the standard "we are going to do horrible stuff to your friends" motivation at this point. The little I have seen of the game so far suggests that this might actually be handled in a somewhat nauseous manner too. My fear is that I'll find it very hard to enjoy the open-world wackiness (i.e. actually playing the game) with the thought of my friends being tortured/raped/whatever constantly in my head. As a plot device this sort of thing is of course very powerful. Unfortunately, it kinda makes me not want to play this game.

It's a shame that the plot seems so off-putting to me. For me, your friends being imprisoned, tortured and/or threatened to be sold into slavery (I don't know how accurate this actually is, but this is what I gathered from the trailers etc.) is just about the worst premise for open-world fooling around that I can think of.

He will be playing drums on the next Queens of the Stone album. Sweet! (I think Joey Castillo was excellent as well, though.) Also, Nick Oliveri is apparently a guest vocalist on one of the tracks. Meh.
