  4. What a show off. Seriously though, awesome video! It can't get much better than that! Except if he was singing Space Asshole. Does he take requests?
  5. Candy Box

Rodi, you should probably clean that URL. Or maybe not. I don't know how the saves work.
  6. The Bureau: Xcom declassified

I'm interested to see how this game will turn out. I liked the strange-things-happening-in-the-suburbs setting of the 2010 version more than the military focus of the 2011 version. On the other hand, the gameplay of the first version seemed pretty dull. I'm glad that they found some middle-ground between the two approaches. Erm.. Where did you hear this? Source.
  7. Nextbox 1080: The Reckoning

Good! Because that x∞ thing in the logo would have driven me nuts. I mean, what if x=-1 ?!
  8. Idle Thumbs Shirts

Any chance of making the shitty wizard posters available as well? I would any sum for them provided that they are not too expensive.
  9. Kylie Minogue - Come Into My World: http://vimeo.com/48948064 It is indeed pretty fantastic.
  10. Sean obsession to beat Obama at everything, I guess. It's a sickness really, but still pretty hilarious.
  11. SimCity: The City Simulator

Is anyone still playing the game? Does it work yet? I got completely fed up with the broken traffic and trading and so on after my 4th attempt at a functioning city and haven't touched the game since. I have have understood that update 2.0 fixed some of the issues while introducing some completely new bugs. What is the word on update 3.0? Do you think that after that the game will be playable/enjoyable/predictable?
  12. Double Fine is closing :(

Oh man.. Hilarious! Sweet deal though. I like that they listed the system requirements for the shirt as well.
  13. Life

I'm not going to give you any advice, simply because I don't know what to say. Just want to say, good luck! You are clearly a talented guy, and I'm sure you will do just fine whatever avenue you decide to pursue! I will definitely back your Kickstarter. (Ask Sean for advice on the pitch.) About a month ago, a colleague of mine told me that he will quit as soon as he gets his licentiate thesis done. I was able to offer him a "huh?" and and one of my best confused looks. The more I thought of it, however, the more his decision made sense to me. He is an awesome guy and the work is just fine (although, unfortunately, he was stuck with a very annoying project at the time); the combination just didn't work out that well. When I asked him if he had his plans sorted out already, he shook his head and told me that he will start looking for a new job soon. His daughter is 1-2 years old, so I know that the decision must have been extremely hard for him. I wish him all the best, and still wonder why I didn't tell him that there and then. Anyway, the point of that unstructured babble was that I respect his decision, and can totally see why someone may feel that he/she needs to get out, even if that puts him/her on a financially shaky ground. Again, good luck!
  14. Kerbal Space Program

First try. Lots more work required..
  15. I Had A Random Thought...

The discussion was about a fourth type of cone cells, actually. Unfortunately, their experiment only proved that interior designers and painters can perceive smaller color differences than ordinary humans (which is, of course, well known already). Then there was something vague about seeing some red in the blue sky. Interesting mutation, though.
  16. I Had A Random Thought...

I can't listen to the episode right now, but did they mean that these people can see in a wider wavelength range (i.e. in UV and near-IR), or that they actually have more than three types of cone cells in their retina, in which case their color vision could indeed be quite fascinating? The episode description seems completely nonsensical to me: "...and we track down a woman who we're pretty sure can see thousands (maybe even millions) more colors than the rest of us."

  18. I Had A Random Thought...

If over 5 % of the people who have ever lived on this planet are still alive, can we really so be sure that everybody dies some day? Well, yes we can, but I'm sure there is a profit to be made here if one formulates the thought more carefully. Edit:
  19. Great Kickstarter pitch, Sean! I hope you get funded. I was initially put off by the kerbals as well, but fell in love with them the moment I started playing the game. When after many fatal disasters (and much help from the Internet) I was finally able to land a single kerbal, with his stupid grin and useless limbs, safely on the moon, I felt like bursting into laughter and tears at the same time. I zoomed out to see what a tiny fraction of that lifeless rock he and his spacecraft were occupying, and further out still to see the extent of his journey. What drives these insignificant, inept, ridiculous little guys to such majestic undertakings? Why all the effort to send a man in a can into space, when their own world must be riddled with problems and they know nothing about anything? Then I was struck by the obvious. That is us! That is exactly like us! Game of the year. Any year.
  20. COH2

Apart from a couple of chaotic defense missions and the missions where you were fighting ridiculously powerful tanks, I really liked the campaign(s) of the first game. I only played a couple of missions of Tales of Valor, though. And never touched the multiplayer. The main reason why I found the game so enjoyable was the heavy focus on unit placement, specialized units, and artillery. Being able to completely obliterate the enemy with clever tactics feels so much better than simply storming the enemy base with an overwhelming force.
  21. Backendy server changes

You know it's perfectly okay to admit that you just tripped over the power cord. No need to come up with these bullshit excuses.
  22. Recommend me some good two-player co-ops! (Please!)

You have probably considered these already but Monaco, Renegade Ops, Diablo 3, Portal 2, etc. should fit the bill.
