I ended up buying Cosmic Encounter and Quarriors. We only played one game of Cosmic Encounter so far but it was incredibly fun. The game-breaking alien powers and flares are great. We ended up in a situation where we had to let each attacker win and each negotiation fail (so that one player wouldn't win by tokens), where the second player would win an encounter by smallest attack total, and where the third player could mirror attacks ("15" to "51"). By the end of the game we were all like "What the fuck just happened?" Quarriors! has one of the most confusingly laid out rulebooks I have ever seen (and I have not seen many). Fortunately, the actual rules seem simple enough. Thanks again for the suggestions!

It was on Community's Choice sale earlier today. I don't think it has been on Daily Deals yet.

Thank you guys for recommendations! I really appreciate it. None of us are overly competitive and we play these games just for laughs. Cosmic Encounter seems like a perfect match for us and I will definitely check it out. Thanks again! Also, has anyone played Space Alert? It sound quite interesting and something that we might get into.

Goddamn. That is awful...

I'm currently reading Infinite Jest on my Kindle Paperwhite. Touching the number takes you to the corresponding footnote at the end of the book. At the end of each footnote (and sub-footnote) there is a link that takes you back to the main text. It has worked very well for me so far, but I can imagine it being quite tedious without a touch screen.

Wow! So that Obsidian Entertainment Half-Life 3 rumor was true after all!

Apparently 32 % of your appearance is mustache.

What if you just used spoiler tags? In all seriousness, though, it's sad to see you go. But you have obviously thought this one through, so good luck with whatever you decide to spend your extra time on from now on!

I took the Aquaria code, played the game for 5 minutes and uninstalled it. What a lame ass mermaid game.. kidding..
-
So what you are saying is that you are simply too lazy to use spoiler tags?

The Tibetan village in Uncharted 2 is the best example of this that I can think of. Waking up disoriented in a peaceful mountain village after an epic scene was one of the best moments in the game. Unfortunately, the experience was immediately ruined by the fact that the only purpose for the layout of the village was to serve as one huge battle arena. I knew that the place would be filled with enemies when I come back, not because I was sure they wouldn't rest until I was dead and therefore had inadvertently sealed the fate of this poor little village (which would have been pretty amazing), but simply because the level design was so transparent.

I, for one, am intrigued by the LGBT / ghost story fusion. Just ouf of curiosity, which games were you actually forced to do this?

You are a lousy thief, yes.

Can you still find the source? If true, I have missed the news completely. In any case, it would be a weird move this soon after Monkey Island 1 and 2 Special Edition releases.

Whaa?

Despite all its flaws, and there are many, I'm going to go with Mafia. I loved the slow start, the restrained story, the soundtrack, the police that ticketed you for speeding, and the 1930s cars that made it hard to get ticketed for speeding, let alone reaching the top of a hill.

Haha.. I was just about to edit my post. I actually own that pack! I guess I just quickly scanned through my favorites (Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, The Curse of Monkey Island, Full Throttle, Grim Fandango...) and concluded that none of the games are available.

Apart from the two MI Special Editions, none Many of the old Lucasarts adventure games are not available on GOG, Steam, etc. so you would have to find a boxed copy somewhere. At least I think this is still the case. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Unfortunately.
