Most of the books I have given up on seem to be ones that I have picked up as audiobooks to listen while I'm doing things that do not require my full attention. I only remember these because I listed them on Goodreads: - Joseph Conrad's Lord Jim (audiobook): Just couldn't get into it. Loved Heart of Darkness, though. - Fyodor Dostoyevsky's The Idiot (audiobook): Gave up after I realized that only half of the book was narrated at the time. I quite liked, but not enough to keep going after the sudden stop. - William S. Burroughs' Naked Lunch (audiobook): Literally no idea what was going on. I suspect audiobook is not the optimal format for this. - Carlos Ruiz Zafón's The Shadow of the Wind (audiobook): The beginning (roughly 100 pages or so) way too cheesy for my taste. - Jules Verne's Around the World in Eighty Days (audiobook): I was near the end, but somehow lost my interest completely and just didn't finish it. - Franz Kafka's The Castle (book): The book simply beat me. It was so slow, depressing and oppressive that I had to give up. The only book I think I should have given up on was Günter Grass' The Tin Drum. I struggled with the book for 4 months or so, and even though the ending was OK, I felt like it was not worth the effort.

The next Eurovision Song Contest hosted by Russia is going to be awkward. Seriously though, that law is so fucking gross.

I don't care about the Bioshock universe or continuity in the slightest, so I'm really looking forward to this!

Lords of Waterdeep looks and sounds really nice. I think I will get that as well.

Crusader Kings II: The Triumph of Ragnar

Just watched the rest of parts 7-9. The way Nick approaches strategy games is the best! Can't wait for the next episode in the saga of Ireland. -

Same here. Amazing how accurate that vision turned out to be. -

Crusader Kings II: The Triumph of Ragnar

They quit the stream immediately after that awesome thing happened? Did they get land? I only got to see the last 15 minutes or so, and I still have no idea what is going on. Watching the beginning of the cast is going to be weird now. -
Well this suck... I admit that my very first reaction when I saw that Fez 2 was cancelled due to a grumpy old man rant (as some of the sites more or less put it) was that Fish was overreacting in a big way. Then I started to think how I would react if random people were giving me shit for my work (and public appearances) all the time, and quickly decided that I would most likely end up doing the exact same thing eventually. Oh well, at least Marcus Beer got exposure.

The end of part 6 was amazing! Please keep making these. -

Crusader Kings II: The Triumph of Ragnar

Watching part 5 right now. I find the lengths at which Nick and Chris are willing to go to get rid of Ragnar's degenerate son to keep Ragnar's lineage pure equal parts hilarious and horrible. Good stuff! -
I already did!!

I can't use wizards in software anymore. Also, I met a fellow Idle Thumbs listener at PAX, but couldn't reveal my forum identity to him because I had called his project a baby ball game (I edited the post afterwards, as the game is actually quite cool). I was also afraid that he would find all the sexist and anti-semitic stuff I posted back in 2005.

About a week ago I had a dream where I was told to drive a bunch of white deer away from the backyard of my parents' house. They weren't really doing anything - just standing on top of things - but I casually chased them to a nearby forest anyway. Suddenly we reached a huge black pot that was suspended in air by thick cables and whose lid was replaced by some sort of lens. The deer ceased running and wouldn't budge no matter what I did. I was getting very uncomfortable. Finally, I decided to cut the cables supporting the pot. The pot shattered and out crept some sort of horrible spherical pot-sized sun monster. As I turned around to run away, I noticed that the forest was full of identical pots with white deer around each one of them. I woke up dreading what would happen if the deer were allowed to cook up sun monsters uninterrupted.

Great stuff guys! The videos made me finally buy the game. Now I just have to figure out what I want to do with my relatives' lives. -

Oh yeah, I watched that as well. It was good, but not one of my favorites.

I've only been to Krakow so I don't know the must-see places in Warsaw. Just wander around the old town, visit museums and churches, and climb the Stalin's Syringe I guess. It's unfortunate that Wieliczka Salt Mine is so far away from Warsaw. It was pretty stunning.

I watched The Girl in the Fireplace, Blink, and Silence in the library / Forest of the Dead before jumping to Matt Smith episodes. I have watched a couple more of David Tennant episodes since then but I didn't enjoy them that much. Series 5-7 are really good in my opinion.
