As for diffuse vs. specular reflection, I'd say that glossy paint is not a way to go. The paint should probably be in the flat—eggshell region in the gloss classification system I just now came across for the first time. Disclaimer: I have never build a projector screen.

Sleeping Dogs is definitely worth the 5 dollars, and more importantly, I'd say, your time due to its nice compact city, impressive graphics, enjoyable gameplay, and a plot, while often ridiculous and sometimes plain bad, that does not drag out too long. Just to give you some idea of the length, I clocked 22 hours. That includes all of the side-missions and lots of idle cruising around Hong Kong (most of the time on the wrong side of the road). There is a demo available on Steam if you are unsure whether you like the gameplay or whether your PC can run the game or something. I haven't tried any of the DLC. Nor have I played any of the other games you listed.

This game feels like a less polished version of Arkham City. So far I have had to Google my way to the next mission because the waypoint marker refused to show up, and encountered a bug where I can't shut down one of the Comms tower jammers because batman refuses to climb into a vent.

The Stanley Parable "Raphael Trailer" that was discussed in the cast: Basically the best thing ever.

I haven't listened to the cast yet, but having played The Stanley Parable, I'd say that it is hard to discuss the game at length without spoiling it to a large extent. Edit: ahh ok.

Other warning signs include the lack of Rocksteady involvement and the word "Origin" in the title. I was aware of only one of these things when I (digitally) pre-ordered the game a short while ago.

First & Second EPs are my favourites, but I don't know what is their current availability. The EPs are somewhat different from the color albums (much heavier than the later releases, at least), so if you have liked the singles, you might prefer Red, Blue or Yellow & Green. Of those, my favourite is the Red Album - I think.

Yeah, I'm baffled how well his weird approach tends to work in different games. I miss the Crusader Kings II Streams.
