Yeah, I saw them live when they were in Finland a couple of years ago. You are right about their stage presence too. The gig ended by one of Al Cisneros' effect pedals or whatever breaking down. Matt Pike and Jason Roeder kept playing the same part of the song over and over for 5 minutes or so until it became apparent that they cannot fix the thing and then they just quit. It was sort of amazing and very fitting. Earth released a new album as well earlier this month. Not my favorite of theirs but it has its moments.

The new Death From Above 1979 album is pretty neat: (not the best song on the album) Also, new Electric Wizard and Sleep albums coming soon and not that soon, respectively. Happy stoner doom times ahead!

Great episode! Awesome thing to have Anita on the cast! -
I ended up ordering a cheap OMTP to CTIA adapter, because I couldn't be arsed to hunt for an OMTP headset or solder an adapter myself.

Has anyone found a good replacement for the horribly uncomfortable mono headset that comes with the console? I am not interested in playing the game audio through the earbuds so an open mono earpiece would do. I tried the headset that come with my iPhone 4S but the mic did not work because - I suspect (and just now found out confirmation in Wikipedia) - the connector layout is different. Love the fact that Sony chose the standard they don't even use in their phones any anymore..

I'm really enjoying this game, but it probably has less to do with Destiny itself than the co-op experience in general, since this is the first time I'm playing this sort of game co-cooperatively. The gameplay is simply super fun when playing with a friend(s). As for the story, I have absolutely no idea what is going and that is fine by me. I totally understand why they want to keep the story moments as short as possible, and I am grateful for that. I am not here for dialogue trees and 15 minute cutscenes; I want to shoot aliens in the face. What I don't entirely understand is why the complexity of the world and the story are so greatly at odds with the time allocated to explaining stuff. But that is okay too, because the world doesn't feel very compelling to me. Other things that are not that great: repetitiveness of the missions, loading times, being forced to visit the tower so often, the earpiece of the PS4 microphone. Is anyone playing this single player only? How is it? I'm asking because, some of the darkness zones seem like they would be a pain in the ass when played alone. Edit: The first encounter with the bouncy Mars marines and their theme song was hilarious.

Great Goldblum noises at around 0:10.

Some of the Finnish movie translations are pretty interesting. For example: "Huuliharppukostaja" (Harmonica Avenger) is "Robert Altmanin huonot vitsit" (Robert Altman's Bad Jokes)

I couldn't get into Annihilation at all for some reason. Weird science fiction novel I really enjoyed: Ubik by Philip K. Dick.

I quit just before going through the stargate and haven't picked the game up since. It seems like there would have been only a couple of boss fights between me and the credits, but since I didn't care for the story anymore, disliked the swordplay, and absolutely detested the emo boss they make you fight three fucking time, I simply gave up. Other aspects of the game were nice, though, and I definitely felt like I got my money's worth even if I didn't finish the game.

Quick, someone draw Sean, Jake and Chris as treasure goblins with huge Nature Boxes on their backs. Danielle can be the wizard. Agreed, this thread is awesome and you are all handsome/gorgeous.
-
I think they are only called wizards so that the customers wouldn't become too inquisitive about the actual wizards residing there.

Indeed. Burnout Paradise is awesome but the playlist is very poorly constructed.

Nice, epic vindication! What? Sarcasm doesn't transmit well over the internet?

Because of Christmas, probably. It is always like that and annoying.

That's the third Monkey Island game. And I agree, it is awesome.
