  1. Ubi Takes Charge of 'Lost' videogame

I hope it's going to be a flight simulator.
  2. I wish they had done the casting a bit better. The lead actor doesn't look at all like Pac-Man.
  3. I Love You, Idle Forumers

Fact: Last year a website was introduced for all those who are alone for Christmas. It was called "Spend the Christmas with Danny".
  4. Yoshi's Island 2

Yoshi's Island for SNES was excellent. Couldn't help loving those weird graphics, and if I remember correctly, the boss fight was totally awesome too. Yet another reason to buy a Wii. Also, Yoshi is annoying? After trying to catch that wailing baby Mario for a thousand time, I was ready to commit acts of extreme violence and blame it all on video games.
  5. Nintendo's E3 Conference Thread

It can't be very hard. You just do a punch of über-fast moves you think would look cool with a sword and the enemy should be in tiny pieces. Right?
  6. Nintendo's E3 Conference Thread

That's it! I'm bying a Wii. Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3 and Zelda looked freaking awesome! I think Nintendo is right when they say that Wii will seriously attract those who haven't played before or have lost interest in gaming ages ago. My sister (five years older than me) used to play Super Nintendo a lot. However, she didn't really care for any of the Playstation games I had (except for Tekken and Driver) and just the other day she described the computer games I was playing as confusing. Then a while ago, she asked if we could play some of the SNES games again. We tried, but the controllers didn't work too well anymore for some reason. She told me that she had tried EyeToy somewhere and really liked it, and asked me whether the game was available on Playstation. I explained that it only worked on PS2 and that I had broken my PS anyway. So she lost her interest in gaming again. I think Wii is a great answer for this problem. First, we can dowload all those Super Nintendo classics and start playing them again. (I imagine that the price can't be too high. Any estimate?) Second, Wii will probably feature lots of simple (and possibly EyeToy-like) games. I'm sure that my sister would soon find a bit more complicated games interesting too, (being a huge Zelda and Mario fan and all). To sum it all up: I may not have to pay for this console alone.
  7. Dreamfall gone gold

I was afraid that adding more action wouldn't be such a good idea after all. It's not that I think there shouldn't be action in adventure games (I was actually looking forward to roundhouse kicking the bad guys out of Stark). I was afraid that the combat system would be too undeveloped for fighting to be enjoyable. What really scared me in IGN review, however, is that they mentioned that puzzles "have been greatly simplified". I don't know how simplified they actually are, but it doesn't sound good. Well, I should really wait for other reviews before making any judgements. This wouldn't be the first game I have liked and IGN hasn't. Quite funny, btw: Ragnar: "And the ending ... just wait until you play it." IGN: "However, one criticism does unfortunately have to be made, and it involves the ending. I'll keep it as brief and vague as possible, but Dreamfall's conclusion was extremely frustrating."
  8. Anyone Remember Desperados?

A friend of mine has the game and he already agreed to borrow it. But thanks anyway!
  9. Anyone Remember Desperados?

Thanks. I guess I have to try Commandos 2 then.
  10. Anyone Remember Desperados?

I tested Robin Hood, but for some reason I didn't like it at all. It just didn't feel Desperados. I also tried some Commandos demo, but it was insanely hard, so I thought it would be a waste of time to for me to buy the full version. Is Commandos 2, for example, much harder than Desperados?
  11. Anyone Remember Desperados?

I pretty much played the demo the way I played the original Desperados: hiding, throwing bottles of gas, tieing, hiding, punching. Too bad you couldn't play with Cooper in the demo. Man, I loved distracting guards with the clock, throwing them with a knife and carrying the bodies away. One of the best things in Desperados was that after you had murdered an enemy and hid the body (without being seen), you could stay at your hiding place for as long as you want and plan your next move. That way you could set the pace of the game yourself. I mostly played it really slow and planned my strikes very carefully so that I wouldn't have to use the guns at all. Judging by the demo, it is still possible in Desperados 2.
  12. Anyone Remember Desperados?

No, I'm not that stupid. They were Rice Krispies. I was almost certain that they wouldn't give the full version of the game with their cereal, but, as I said, they didn't mention anything about it being a demo. And Desperados wasn't particularly new and shiny back then either. Anyway, I quite liked that Desperados 2 demo. It feels pretty much the same as the original game, and I only used the aim mode a couple of times to test it. It was nice to notice that at least some of the places are from the first game. Camera takes a while to get used to, though. And I couldn't get the line of sight thing to work. I probably missed something or it's a bug in the demo.
  13. Anyone Remember Desperados?

I played the demo and actually liked it a lot. The point is that I paid for something that I could have downloaded for free. I swear that they didn't mention anything about Desperados game actually being Desperados demo in the cereal box.
  14. Anyone Remember Desperados?

I'm still planning to sue Kellogg's because of this game. I bought a box of their cereal (I don't even eat cereal) in order to get Desperados... The full game, not some crappy one level demo! Anyway.. Desperados is one of the best games I have ever played. It is so much fun to try to kill people in creative ways. Yea, I get excited setting up a scarecrow in the balcony, placing a poisonous snake in front of the door, shooting in the air deep south style and watching more than 20 people die as they rush to see what's happening. Big whoop! Wanna fight about it? I have cleared out a room with just one playing card, a punch in the face and a well-placed kick to the groin, you know. I read somewhere that although the sequel is in 3D and you can aim and so on, the game won't be that different from the first one. But we'll see. Thanks for pointing out that the demo is available!
  15. Rockstar Table Tennis: Website, trailer

Most interesting Rockstars game in a long time, if you ask me. Don't know if the game is going to be any good, though. Pretty much all depends on the gameplay.
  16. Alcohol found in space.

True. But you wouldn't have to lie when someone asks you if that's really alcohol.
  17. RTS as you've always wanted to play it

I am really amazed by how well that touch screen works in the first video! I don't understand why 3D RTS games couldn't work with that device. At least that 3D map seems to be pretty easy to use.
  18. Alcohol found in space.

You can always bottle it and sell it to someone who doesn't know.
  19. Google Mars

Wasn't Stanley Kubrick the first man in the moon?
  20. I Love You, Idle Forumers

I learned something today.. Thank you.
  21. I Love You, Idle Forumers

I'm pretty sure no one can dance better than Danny and Armi and their... posse.
  22. I Love You, Idle Forumers

These kind of things make me glad that I'm not Finnish. .... Wait... oh cr*p.
  23. Oh my god! I mean, there are... snakes... on a plane! This can be deep! I had actually missed all this hype and I must admit that I was a bit surprised when I found out what the basic idea of movie "Snakes on a Plane" was. This was some kind of anti-"Lord of War" experience for me. But I must agree, that snake/oxygen mask bit was amazing! I can't even imagine how shocked I would be in that situation...
  24. Who are you and what have you become?

Busy. Three years' worth of Finnish, Swedish, English, math, physics and chemistry to study. I think I'm losing my eyesight and joy of life. Otherwise everything is pretty fine.
  25. Karimi's Guide to Joining Idle Forums

This is good, but Monkey Island was better. ... eh. I spoiled it already.
