"There is no uncanny valley any more," declares French developer
Nappi replied to Wrestlevania's topic in Video Gaming
Passage in its simplicity is very impressive. My only complaint is that it should have been even more simple. In my opinion, the ability to move up and down should have been left out as it only* breaks the immersion of.. mm.. passage. Using it accidentally kind of ruined the experience for me and I had to start over. * -
I have mostly been listening to Tool, A Perfect Circle, Porcupine Tree and Led Zeppelin of late. New Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds and The Gutter Twins albums are available at that Luisterpaal thing. Both sound excellent in my opinion. The New Nine Inch Nails material (Ghosts, which is partly available for free) is worth checking out too.

Maybe Leonard Cohen just isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you are trying to pick a good song for a rythm game. or something..

Most of my wisdom teeth have been nice, but one was growing under my other tooth and had to be removed through the gum. I didn't feel a thing because of the strong local anesthesia and only noticed my head moving back and forth as the dentist ripped the tooth out. Started hurting a bit after a while though.

Hopefully they will let you really make use of that system, not just in a couple of puzzles, but in actual gameplay. In other words, hopefully the enemies won't become too aggressive or the only thing you can achieve with the items is to light the shit in your pants on fire. Also, why didn't those creatures follow the trail of blood to the player?

Well.. some of the download services let you re-download the songs you have previously purchased if, for instance, your hard drive happens to crash. Something that won't happen if you lose or break your cds for some reason.

I love the helmet.

You can increase the size of the text area with the arrows on the upper right corner. edit: if height is what you need..

I basically just drove over 4 or 5 raptors near a transported, dragged them into it and drove off. Then tried to repeat it near another transporter..

I would never have guessed that she'd admit being completely wrong. I respect that. Of course, she wouldn't have had to apologize at all, if she hadn't been ignorant to begin with..

New maps and weapons are always nice. It is also good that you can gain something from the achievements you have collected. On the other hand, I almost solely play the maps where the other team defends and the other team attacks and the captured points get locked (don't know what they are called), and as I rarely have time to play nowadays I'm not sure if I will be able to test the new weapons any time soon. Furthermore, if the unlockable weapons are more powerful than the old ones I might get even more alienated from the game. I also like to change the class quite often during the match, while upgrade, in a way, seems to encourage focusing on few classes only (unless you have time to collect every achievement). Still eagerly waiting for the update, though.

The movement of the flesh on the edge of the eye on the nose side looks weird somehow. Yes, I'm picky, but they were the ones who claimed they have passed the valley. I would think it's little details like that make all the difference. I wonder why they didn't show the whole face.... -

"Full-length tracks are now available in the US, UK, and Germany, and we’re hard at work broadening our coverage into other countries."

He seems so genuinely insane that it is almost impressive. Nevertheless, I wish I could create an alternative reality like that as well. Not in a way that L. Ron Hubbard did, but in a way that Tom Cruise has apparently done. Sure, he is a fucking maniac, but he does seem to be enjoying every moment of his insanity. He apparently also honestly thinks that he is helping people (although I didn't quite understand whether he would actually stop if he happened to see an accident or just drive past knowing that he was the only one who could have helped). Plus, he is obviously hilarious in his own reality. I wouldn't even mind the lack of vacations if I could live every day like that. I mean, the high point of my day was reading the Wikipedia article on Xenu, whereas Tom Cruise's day must have been.. you know.. mindblowing. Btw. If you want that hitler bomb to be resized or altered in some other way, it should be easily done as I have a vector copy of it.

That first comment you quoted was pure genius.

And Miguel Caballero Rojo A Spaniard with a passion for fighting, yet capable of love. Anyway I have only played Soul Blade on Playstation. I didn't give a crap about the story (if there was one) or think the universe was somehow special, but it felt consistent in that all of the characters were from the good old times and you didn't have to fight with some jerks from the future (yea yea.. long time ago..). The addition of Vader and Yoda doesn't bother me much (in fact, I find it quite hilarious) as I wasn't planning on buying the game in the first place, and as they are probably just unlockable characters not tied to the story, like already mentioned. But it does feel strange and a bit sad..

Very good stuff indeed! I actually didn't read most of the old articles when they were posted. Maybe I should check those out as well now.

I agree. I would actually like to see him talk about older games from now on, at least for a while. For instance, those that he has some sort of love-hate relationship with or those that he likes (or hates) for peculiar reasons alone. That way it would be pretty much guaranteed that he would actually have something interesting to say; for example, have an interesting angle to view the game from that others perhaps haven't realized. The previous review (about Super Mario Galaxy) felt especially dull, even Yahtzee himself sounded tired, as Dan already mentioned. The only good point, in my opinion, was that about the relationship between Mario and Bowser, but he didn't go very far with that one. I'm not sure if he can even decide what to review or talk about, but in any case, I hope it won't be the latest games all the time. Especially because of the dry season that is imminent.

I enjoyed this episode a lot more than most of his latest videos. The fact that he is so passionate about Silent Hill made it more meaningful, in my opinion.

Or where you force Tim Schafer to marry you?

I agree that CGI which still clearly looks CGI hasn't passed the uncanny valley yet even if it doesn't creep you out at all. I'm not even sure if the Heavy Rain (The Origami Killer ?) casting video really reached the bottom of uncanny valley. It might have been terrifying for other reasons.
