I actually thought this was a joke up until I was going to paste the url somewhere. Having said that, I still think Tom Cruise is the greatest actor in the history of moving and still pictures alike. And while Scientology might take a couple of inches off your wallet, one should remember that at the same time it makes ones penis grow the equal length.

Happy birthday! Have been a bit random and ignoring when it comes to all these congratulations of late, so I'd like to say: Happy birthday to all of you who have had or will have birthday this year! Good luck with the new job! Hope everything still works out well in the old job! Stay in school! And if you graduate, that's ok too.

I watched it when it was first shown in Finnish TV and I agree with you all - it was absolutely stunning. And they actually seem to start rebroadcasting it this week! I think the series will be one of my first purchases when I finally manage to buy a Blu Ray player. Hell, they should be using Planet Earth to promote Blu Ray and HDTV in every electronics store everywhere.

Started working a couple of weeks ago which means I have a lot more spare time compared to when I am studying. Began playing Audiosurf, Commandos 2, Medieval 2: Total War, and Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - Episode One and now I'm not sure how I should handle it all. I guess I'll finish Penny Arcade Adventures: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness - Episode One first because it won't take ages to complete and then proceed to switching between Medieval 2 and Commandos 2. GTA4 has started to intrigue me but I'm still hoping to win PS3 and the game or something like that, since I'm not ready to invest in it just yet. For that to happen I would probably have to take part in something however...

Congratulations ass!

Of course! The one place the alchemists didn't look. Also, this one confused me for a while: "Become a fortunate fellow: Hear your lassie cry out with happiness, as you penetrate her harder and more deeply!"

Indeed. I don't mind if they simply make the game a bit easier, but I see absolutely no reason to make it "more casual". I also loved photographing.

That looks awesome! And it's an Ubisoft game too. Hopefully BG&E2 will be something like that... ..hmm.
-
Desert has always fascinated me as an environment and I really hope that it will serve as a setting for (at least part of) BG&E2 like the teaser suggests. I'd love too see a proper game road trip as well. I can't recall any since Full Throttle, although there must have been a whole lot.

Indeed. That was so disturbing that I forgot to post it the first time I saw it although I was supposed to.

Google Bookmark Sync sounds nice but doesn't seem to support Firefox 3. I'll try Foxmarks then. Hopefully it will have keyword support (love that feature in Firefox 3). Thanks for the tips. Only a while ago, I started syncing my local calendar with Google Calendar and store some of the files I need often online using Dropbox. The primary reason for that is so that I can access them easier however, not for backup. Edit: Immediately after replying this appeared in my feed reader. I think I'll give it a try.

Would a spammer mention his name in the mail? I think not. My favourite is still the one that promised to increase the volume of your sperm by 500% or something.
-
In all fairness he has commented on other topics as well, in case you didn't notice. I don't mean to be rude, but I'm not sure if your first comment on the subject was any better than his. And mine is just awful. Also, I had no idea about that Youtube synthesizer guy thing before he mentioned it.

Do monitors (not televisions) even have scart inputs? It seems that many of the new monitors have hdmi, so I guess it would be the easiest to go with one of those then. Is there anything else I should take into consideration if I want to connect my console to the monitor?
-
That seems to be about iMacs though and not their monitor lineup. But they are a bit too pricey for me anyway. The new Samsung monitors, from what I have understood, should be pretty good and they certainly look nice. However, my friend did some extensive investigation on monitors some time ago and found out that some of them suffer from an input lag. I don't know if that is really noticeable in normal use (and when playing) or if it's just something people came up with so that they could rant about something. Certainly sounds more annoying than e.g. long response time, though. Does anyone have experience with this? Btw. What connections should I be looking for if I wanted to plug a console (probably PS3) on my display?
-
Similar situation here. Currently browsing and playing with my 15 inch laptop monitor. Have been thinking about buying a good 20 to 24 inch widescreen monitor for a while now, but with all the response times, input lags, contrast ratios and whatnots it seems that there is going be a painful investigation ahead. I'll be lurking this topic.

Bit cranky, eh? BTW. My previous post wasn't meant as a Kotaku bash (even considered leaving the last part out to avoid these kind of things). I have always considered the site as a collection of links and not as some kind of cradle of game journalism anyway. Works just fine for that purpose.

http://www.steampowered.com/v/index.php The scrolling ad for Painkiller. Hilarious. Or so I have been told by Kotaku.

That gun barrel to cigar transition alone reeks quality.

I really hope that will happen some day. But I'm not getting my hopes too high. I guess I'll have to play the original again now. Maybe this time I'll finish it.

In case you are wondering, Okanagan Lake Provincial Park is an indie band and doesn't care if people can't read their name properly on the album cover. Too bad I don't know how to make decent looking chalk text. It works a bit better if you watch it really far away.

Next up you know what.

I occasionally open the three links when I check the new posts on this thread to see if it will result in anything even mildly interesting. (Did so just a while ago and got some high school, lame ending of a quote and a picture of a flower.) I have passed the "challenge" probably 5 times. If that makes me a cheater, then so be it, cause I won't be spending 15 minutes on something that doesn't interest, let alone inspire, me one bit if I don't have to. I don't want to bore you with the result either. I don't consider this game as a lesson in designing, but as a fun activity. I don't want to make it a chore, I have to commit to the moment I open those links. I'll try again some other day.
