  1. THE MEDIC IS REAL.

Questions about old Lucasarts adventure games or other classics that many of us held dear gets my vote. We could loose the Pokemon friend code sharers, though..
  2. Annoying flash game...

Why did the chicken cross the road? Because of a painful period. Blood drinking baby might be the answer to your problems. Wow gold. How very lame of me.. Apologies.
  3. Zero Punctuation

Yahtzee is like totally selling out. I did hate the music though. Oh and Hamer's polaroids are indeed awesome.
  4. No More Heroes

Thank you for the rose! I love it. I doubt it would result in anything nearly as interesting as in this article (which was posted here some time ago).
  5. So, this "GTA 4" thing then...

OK, I just had an incredible chase with someone I had to Before jumping into my car I managed to shoot one of his front wheels which slowed him down a bit. Then I chased him for quite a while shooting and pushing him until his car finally caught on fire. He jumped out of it and I tried to run over him but hit his car instead. I jumped out of the car as well and executed to poor burning man. Then the car exploded behind me and I woke up in the hospital.
  6. So, this "GTA 4" thing then...

I know I'm late, but I didn't buy this game for nothing, so here it goes. There are a couple of irritating things in this game like having to drive through the whole city again after failing a mission and the fact that I'm always late for the chases thus having to follow the one escaping using the minimap and only reaching him when he leaves the car. Missions so far (and I'm not very far at all) have been a little dull too. I'm mostly very impressed about this game however so here are a couple of things I love about GTA IV: Little details like the aforementioned radio interference before the phone rings. The opening credits. Trying to answer the phone without any luck only to hear the nearby pedestrian start talking in an annoying manner. The fat people. Being able to hit someone in the face then run around the corner where the police arrests the ones chasing me, except that the other one manages to escape. The cranky citizens of Liberty City. The mobile phone. The fact that I had a nostalgic Mafia moment when driving through the old part of the city in the dawn with the jazz station on. The radio stations and their commercials. The guide to Liberty City and all other forms of USA bashing. The taxi. Realizing that there are characters that speak actual Jamaican English (?) and that I can't understand a word they are saying. The fat cops. The choice not to make all the missions harder than the ones before. Getting drunk with my cousin, trying to drive him home and as it proves to be too hard, deciding to take a taxi, getting hit by a couple of cars while doing it and finally getting my ass kicked by the angry drivers as I was too drunk to defend myself..
  7. Buying a PS3

    Surprise!
  8. Buying a PS3

Would you trust a stranger on the internet? I certainly would. Makes me feel happy for a while and I know I will forget it really soon so I won't even get that disappointed..
  9. Quote of the Moment

This one is broken. It doesn't tell jokes, just lies.
  10. Birthday? More like...

Sounds like an excellent way to spend the birthday! Congrats!
  11. Diablo III

I own Diablo II but I only played it for a couple of hours back then. Not quite sure why I was so disappointed. Based on the gameplay trailer this new one looks much more intriguing though and I actually like the direction they have taken with the art style. Does anyone else think Blizzard's gameplay demonstrations are outstanding? I think they are the only ones I have seen I could watch purely for the entertainment value, whereas most of the other companies demonstrations can be unbearable to watch. They are also the only reason I'm now excited about both Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. BigJKO, couldn't get it (the mac version) to work either.
  12. Buying a PS3

I just bought a PS3 a couple of days ago. It was kind of an easy choice for me as I don't own an Xbox 360 (so it's not like I was buying it for just the exclusives) and I want to be able to watch Blu-Ray movies. The interface is neat and the options are plentiful. The PS3 Blu-Ray remote (not included of course) seems very good too and should probably be bought if you are going to use PS3 for DVD/Blu-Ray playback. At least I found the normal controller a bit awkward for that purpose. Does PS3 do some nice tricks with DVD playback or am I just imagining it looks better than with a normal DVD player? I also wish the PS2-software emulation rumours where true, as I missed out on the entire previous generation of consoles and would like to be able to play games like Shadow of the Colossus and.. erm.. there were some others too. Is it possible that Sony will eventually start releasing the PS2 classics through Playstation Store? I think it was rumoured at some point as well.
  13. Yeah. I will most likely buy a bundle with PS3, GTA4, Uncharted, Fifa 08 and erm.. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Blu-Ray tomorrow. I'm buying it because it costs a little less than or equal to the console, GTA4 and Uncharted combined, and while my hopes aren't too high for Fifa 08, I think it could be at least somewhat entertaining. Will probably buy MGS4 a bit later, most likely after finishing Uncharted and playing through a good chunk of GTA4. I promise to post my thoughts on it here, provided that I still remember to.
  14. Thanks for the response! I guess I might still pick it up though. There aren't too many great games for Playstation 3 yet. And it might be interesting to investigate it as an outsider to the series. Maybe I'll even start a blog*. *I won't though.
  15. This was partially discussed earlier on this topic but since some of you have finished the game now, I'd like to know whether you can enjoy MGS4 even if you haven't played any of the previous Metal Gear games? Well, I played the MGS1 demo (and somewhat liked the gameplay) as well as watched a friend of mine play the ending of MGS2 (which I thought was absolutely hilarious), but that's about it. I mean, is there a strong enough plot limited to just the fourth game that you can play it even if you don't know the overall story? I'm asking this since I'm finally thinking of buying a PS3 and I hoped I would be able to enjoy this game like I enjoyed HL2, that is to say without touching the previous game(s). I understand that it might be more difficult with this series though. I don't own a PS2 and, to be honest, I'm not very keen on playing the first game simply because of the outdated technology.
  16. When you reach 30...

I liked the rambling loan officer part the best.

  18. Limbo Of The Lost: EPIC FAIL

This is just too awesome! It's like one of those pictures where you have to find as many band names as possible. Only in this you have to find the games and movies they have been ripping off. I think the green anorectic guy from the intro is a poor attempt to recreate G-Man.
  19. Spore demo leaked

He'll just have to accept the fact he wasn't created by a loving god.
  20. Medieal 2:TW - Worth playing?

IRL it's just the priests. Gaming is a form of escapism for me. I enjoy the campaign much more now. I had forgotten about the missions the Pope and Council of Nobles gives the player (if I recall correctly there were similar ones in Rome but not in original Medieval). I feel like they are really trying to give me a push to a right direction. I'd advice you to pay some attention to finance and diplomacy though. I have no allies and I'm currently fighting with 3-4 for factions. I'm not actually bathing in money either. Capturing cities helps though. Can't wait to be able to try my luck conquering the New World.
  21. Medieal 2:TW - Worth playing?

Heh.. I actually bought Medieval 2: Total War over a year ago, played it a bit and gave up on it. Yesterday I started a new English campaign. This time around I feel much more compelled to keep on playing. I think the main reason I stopped playing the first time around was that I got a horrible start. Now I'm doing much better although the Pope keeps harassing me for attacking Scotland and France is besieging one of my cities with a huge army. As far I can remember I truly started enjoying Rome: Total War (and original Medieval) only after I got past the initial difficulties. So I'd say you probably should give it another chance. If you loved Rome: Total War then I see no reason why you couldn't like this as well, unless you dislike the medieval setting or something. However, I have only played it a little so far so I can't really make any extensive comparisons with Rome: Total War yet.
