  1. iPhone/iTouch gaming

zomboid ectoplasm wrangler * * Join Date: Apr 2009 Location: tejas Posts: 60 iPhone 3.0 system update is live. Have fun copying and pasting shit. EDIT: That was actually my first iPhone copy&paste. yeah.. I bought Peggle as well and am now addicted to it a bit.
  2. Yeah... that didn't really happen. Played through the demo, though, a couple of days ago. It sucked horribly until I realized I should probably adjust the brightness to be able to see in the darker areas. Then it sucked some more until I finally realized that higher value actually means lower brightness. Then I started to suck, but I hope that's mostly because it just takes time to get used to the controls. Does the game become horribly difficult further on? I am thinking of finally buying this thing since it's so cheap now.
  3. Oh Fuck ! (©Yufster)

Agh.. I think that show is aired here as well. Also, the muscle men in that game reminded me of the incredibly stupid I think I posted in the youtube thread already.
  4. Tales of Monkey Island

I actually have similar feelings towards Sam and Max: Season One (I have only played one and a half episodes of the second) with its hypnotism theme and annoying characters that just kept reappearing. This probably sounds incredibly stupid, but to me Sam and Max has always been about Sam and Max and American popular culture. Season One just didn't feel right because other things stole the show too much. That said, I'm pretty confident that I will enjoy Tales of Monkey Island more. At least the zombie virus theme is quite piratey (by some logic). It has been a while since I have played Monkey Island 4, but I remember enjoying it quite a bit as well, although not as much as the other Monkey Island games. I felt that they went a bit too far with the tourist stuff as well, though.
  5. For fans of typography/design/illustration

It's great to have something filling my Google Reader with things that inspire me to create other things that I will most likely never actually start working on or at least never find the motivation to finish. There are all kinds of things from kinetic typography pong to light bulb event reminder (perhaps not that abandoned yet) I have just left when I have come across something else that seems cool at the time. It really bugs me, too. Amazing things in that blog, though. Thanks you for the tip! It's awesome how little you need to do to create something awesome when you know what you are doing.
  6. Beatles: Rock Band

I have watched that thing five times now and the ending is still just mind-bogglingly fantastic. Hell, I would pre-order that game this instant if I knew the visuals would be like that. And I'm not at all into Beatles (and not a huge fan of rhythm games either for that matter).
  7. Obligatory comical YouTube thread

That video was such an eye opener for me. I'm speechless.
  8. Me too. I was even hoping to see old pixelated characters against the new backgrounds. Not because of my dislike for the new Guybrush but because I think it could have been awesome. Even before the confirmation, I was almost certain that would never happen, though.
  9. Didn't he have some sort of beard in Monkey Island 2? Or was that his chin?
  10. Hah.. There were at least five questions about Guybrush's hair. I would be interested to know how many people think it really suits him. It's a shame that you can't play the game with original graphics and still have voice acting.
  11. FPS/simulation sickness

Low post count people just don't get it. I think No One Lives Forever is the only game I have experienced FPS sickness with. It may be, but probably is not, that I just played it for too long because I enjoyed it so much, but at some point I had to quit because I was afraid that I was going to puke if I kept on playing. It also hurt my brain.
  12. Boycott Left 4 Dead 2!

    What is game?
  13. Can I just share something with you...

Looks pretty nice. Certainly better than the default skin. I hadn't even paid attention that I could use custom skins on Steam. I guess I was aware of it at some point but didn't bother with it back then and just forgot about it. Here's a preview for those who actually want to see it before downloading and installing: http://rthaut.deviantart.com/art/Slate-Colored-v1-0-77575772
  14. Are boycott groups the new online petitions? I read somewhere just a while ago that people are boycotting Left 4 Dead 2 as well.

  16. Scribblenauts

That's completely awesome idea! The library really seems quite large as well. I wish this thing was released on Wii as well.
  17. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

    So it was. My apologies.
  18. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

I guess Activision-Blizzard noticed that huge Brütal Legend E3 banner as well.
  19. Ass Ass In Creed Too

Indeed. The beginning of the gameplay demonstration seemed pretty nice and I was almost ready to stop nagging about the incredible laziness of character/clothing design when they dropped da Vinci bomb. It was really quite stupid and I was decently disappointed. I felt like kicking someone in the teeth. EDIT: God I hope they don't actually go Da Vinci Code with this one.
  20. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

hmm.. Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid*. I hope my Wii still works after all the dust it has been gathering. *for Wii I suppose?
  21. Tales of Monkey Island

This could be awesome. Pre-ordered. Love these Telltale deals.
  22. Holy Shit! Awesome E3 News!!

 Now that is DLC I'm really looking forward to! ..for some reason.
  23. It's quite amazing how much that god-awful Guybrush design affects my perception of the entire Special Edition. I just can't get the image of that douche out of my head and I'm constantly trying to figure who it vaguely reminds me of. Certainly not Guybrush, that's for sure, and I fucking hope not me either. Pretty much everything else sounds absolutely fantastic though.
  24. I was thinking more like the players just yelling at each other until one of them disconnects. That would be totally awesome.
  25. With so many companies publishing (mostly decent ? ) remakes and ports of their classic titles, it's extremely sad that I have almost zero faith in the company that once made so many of my all-time favourite games doing the right thing. Of course I hope that I'm completely wrong and that they come up with something amazing although I don't even have an Xbox. Also, voice-chat enabled online insult sword fighting DLC. "En Garde! Douché!"
