I downloaded Fuel demo (mistaking it for Blur, Grid, Switch, Edge or whatever) and had one of the most boring experiences I have had with a video game for a long time. After I realized that there wasn't a specific track to follow all I had to do after reaching a checkpoint was to steer the vehicle towards the next one and throttle. I would have won easily if I hadn't hit a solitary object and gotten stuck. I still would have won pretty easily but at that point I decided that I didn't want to play anymore. Excellent episode, again. Jake should be deprived of his sleep and Nick scared by voices more.

I often come up with a concept that feels amazing, develop it in my mind to a point that I'm convinced it's actually worth doing, promise myself that I will start working on it tomorrow, go to bed, wake up, remember what I have promised myself, notice that the idea doesn't feel that awesome anymore, realize that I don't have to keep promises the tired me had made to himself, and abandon the project before I have even started it. Anyway, I sometimes take photographs, sometimes play with Inkscape and do some programming every now and then. Right now I'm thinking of doing some actual carpentry and make a neat box for my current electronics project (the programming side of which is in a halt because I broke my laptop). There is a fairly good chance that I will actually finish this one eventually as I have paid actual money for the components.

I don't know. Wiimote style waggling works. Also, it seems that I can undo typing by shaking as well.

I broke my computer, so I guess I'll be playing with my iPhone for a while. I'm thinking of buying SimCity or Civilization Revolution. Which would you recommend? Are there any other "longer" games that are good for the iPhone? I already have PuzzleQuest. Have you turned the feature on in the settings?

Yeah, I wouldn't have minded Meat Circus being hard if the increase in difficulty hadn't been a result of poor design. Still, it wasn't that hard and that bad for me. Whatever that means. About the soundtrack. Apart from Mastodon and, to some extend, Black Sabbath the bands are not that interesting to me. As a metal soundtrack it might be a bit unsurprising, but as a game soundtrack it could be pretty refreshing I guess. Sure would have hoped for Electric Wizard though..

I decided to play through Grim Fandango again about a year or so ago. The controls felt really awful (even worse than I had remembered them to be) at first, but to my surprise I got used to them after a while and by the end of the game I barely even noticed that they were in fact shit. So.. that may happen. (I used a gamepad, though. I expect the keyboard controls to be much worse.)

Just bought Space Invaders: Infinity Gene. I have to say that Taito did a really good job in turning one of their classic games I never enjoyed at all into one of the most interesting shumps I have ever played. Some of the levels are simply amazing.

"Youth depression", "gun control" and "violent music" result in similar patterns. "Benevolent god" might also, but there is only data from two cycles.

Idle Thumbs 37: You Gotta Have Spice
Nappi replied to Chris's topic in Idle Thumbs Episodes & Streams
Nick's strategy game moments are awesome. They should be made into a documentary (sort of like that Rome: Total War History Channel series) where experts would speculate what he did wrong and what actual historical events the scenario might resemble. -
Good news for once..

I guess I have to buy that Space Invaders thing then. Tap on that big empty area to get additional controls, including a song slider that can be used for rewind or fast-forward.

I remember being quite baffled when, many years ago, I found out that people were willing to pay for furniture in Habbo Hotel. Seems to be working still. On the other hand, this is my favourite kind of DLC - completely useless.

That almost happened to me as well. ?

Mine only has the Creative EAX Advanced HD logo. I think your box might be full of shit.

Metal Gear Solid 4 - Guns of the Saucer Men From Mars
Nappi replied to Cigol's topic in Video Gaming
I think I promised to post my thoughts on this game so I will even though I might be a bit late. In somewhat chronological order: The tv shows at the beginning The egg cooking scene Hideo Kojima's name revealed when Solid snake picks up the gun. Pressing X for a worthless flashback. "Their numbers exceed the war price for that region" Ridiculously complex controls. Finding out that you actually got Drebin points for watching those worthless flashbacks. Finding out what that egg cooking scene was all about. The dracula. Most of the jungle. Listening to the cries of people getting killed, then the sounds of love making and finally a detailed description of a little girl being forced to play with her parents' and friends' intestines while your mother is laying on the sofa behind you. The Final Fantasy dude. :tup continued :tdown The awkward scene being awkward for all the wrong reasons. :tdown :tdown Trailing a guy in an Eastern European setting. :tup :tup Eastern European filter. :tdown Boss, Big Boss, Ocelot, Liquid :tmeh :tmeh The Thriumph. :tup "It's so easy for them to get absorbed by these war games.." And that's how I far I have managed to get so far. Also, could someone finally fix those thumb smilies? The forum only allows 15 pictures per post. -
I enjoy The Dead Weather (Spotify, Luisterpaal, Youtube). You might enjoy it as well.

Excellent video. Looks like the game could be a lot of fun. I do hope they still have time to improve the animation though. It looks pretty bad from time to time. Some of the scenery is pretty awesome however.

What a douche. Periodic Table of the Elemon sounds rad, though.

I was under the impression it was used in every Lucasarts adventure game from Monkey Island 2 to.. I don't know. There is an iMuse logo at the back of the Curse of Monkey Island and Grim Fandango boxes as well. Most people here know Lucasarts better than I do though, so I'll let them clear this up.

Like ThunderPeel2001 pointed out, that's all because of Eddie Riggs' cursed belt buckle.

But now I can say 'what did I say?'
