  1. Direct2Drive is selling The Best of Indie bundle (with Crayon Physics Deluxe, Aquaria, AaaaaAAaaaAAAaa, I-Fluid, And Yet It Moves, Project Aftermath and Acceleration of Suguri) for £15/$25. Sweet deal for me at least, since I don't own any of those games and would like to own four of them. The other three I have not paid any attention to until now.
  2. Moon

Watched Moon yesterday and was very impressed. One of the best science fiction movies I have ever seen and I don't even watch those things. One scene disappointed me in an interesting way though: For some reason I liked the thought a lot. It would have been nicely symbolic as well. However, I quickly found out that
  3. Creepy statues in games

There were statues in The Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past whose eyes appeared to be moving. And shooting lasers at you. I was freaked out by how something that has never been alive can kill me and there is no way for me to stop it from trying to do that. If I remember correctly, that game was full of creepy non-lethal statues as well.
  4. Epic Disney on GameInformer

    That's not epic at all..
  5. Torchlight?

I just downloaded the demo because of that amazing lynx. I guess I will buy the full version too if I feel the wizards are accurately represented in the game.
  6. Google Wave

I can actually see how Google Wave could make some aspects of the project(s) I'm currently working on quite a lot simpler. I would probably still use it mostly for stupid things though.
  7. Easily my favourite song from the podcast. Also, congratulations Nick. Now I won't be able to send you a seemingly interesting question and end it with "PS. I think you have something that belongs to me. -Nappi"
  8. Have people seen Machinarium?

Obviously that was not how the puzzle actually worked, but that was how I initially put the pieces together. They seemed to fit quite well too, except that I couldn't hop in that endless loop actions and reactions in any way.
  9. Have people seen Machinarium?

Haven't finished it yet but this sad little game makes me so happy. I absolutely love how it looks and sounds. It also blew my mind when I realized that so that I can in order to which that I can finally use . The walkthrough system is also very nice. Had to use it six times when I got stuck, though, because I couldn't figure out what was the right place to use it. I had to
  10. Starter Shooters

No One Lives Forever games. The first two. Preferably the sequel. Both were great fun and should be quite cheap now. I don't remember how hard they were, though, but I assume that, at easier difficulties at least, not very.
  11. Google Wave

If someone is still having troubles getting rid of the invitations, I'm willing to help you out.
  12. Another backlog thread

Most of them probably ain't, but all that I listed in the previous post, for instance, should be available in Spain as well. Red Alert 3 even specifically lists it as a country where the game is available.
  13. Another backlog thread

Something like 70% of the events displayed on my Steam profile start with "tanukitsune now owns...". This is probably not helpful to you but some of the Direct2Drive games are actually available worldwide. For example, Red Alert 3, RA3 Uprising, Mirror's Edge and Bioshock are available (for most of the Europeans, at least) for 5 pounds in the UK store at the moment. I only recently discovered that 5-10 euros really isn't that much. That and the joy of digitally distributed discount games. I bought Everyday Shooter, Red Alert 3 and Hitman Blood Money on D2D and Steam for five euros, and I'm thinking about getting Assassin's Creed for 10 euros on GamersGate. I know I don't really have time to play all of these games right now, but at least I have something to do if I eventually find the time to get bored.
  14. (IGN.com)

Oh wow! I guess I'll have to check out those Metroid Prime games them. Nintendo should totally re-release the trilogy on Wii or something. ha
  15. Happy Birthday!

    Have a happy one!
  16. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves

It was the Nepal gameplay video that got me. The city looks ridiculously awesome.
  17. PS3 owners: question

Also, Blu-ray support on 360 is said to be pretty horrible.
  18. PS3 owners: question

I have all my media on a network drive (Lacie Ethernet Mini) that is UPnP compatible and it shows as a media drive in my PS3. I can use it to stream or copy photos, music and videos. I'm not sure what video formats PS3 supports but it should be pretty easy to find out. It does support MP3 Surround though so you can test your speakers with some neat songs you can find on the internet (all three of them). There are many applications that can be used to stream stuff from PC to PS3. I haven't tried any of those, though, so I don't know which to recommend. PS3 Media Server could work.
  19. Brütal Legend overload...!

The main menu really is the best main menu of all time. The demo itself was short, limited and something I had already seen before, so it didn't shift my expectations on the full game one way or another. They managed to show a lot of cool stuff on the video that played when you beat the demo though. By the way. Some of the sounds effects and even parts of the dialog somehow sounded flat or compressed in the PS3 demo. Did anyone else notice this or is it just me and/or (the settings on) my amplifier?
  20. Tales of Monkey Island

Just finished the episode. Puzzles were awesome. Murray was awesome. The writing was mostly awesome. The setting and some of the characters (the crew to be exact) were not that awesome to me, however, and I'm kinda hoping the next episode will bring Guybrush back to civilization. Something like that anyway. Still, I have enjoyed the entire season a lot so far. And congratulations to Jake "I'M Jake Rodkin" Rodkin for co-directing!
  21. Google Wave

This is what Google Wave is to me at the moment: rDu2A3WzQpo That is because I haven't bothered to read any of the lengthy articles describing it or watch that long video.
  22. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

I can see that Arkham Asylum is a quality video game. I still quite simply am not that interested in playing the full game, be it the dark insane asylum theme, batman himself or whatever. I'm not quite sure. Same goes for Bioshock, for instance. Of course, I still managed to enjoy the demo for its quality.
  23. Me neither. To me Nick and Jake sound completely different. I occasionally confuse Chris with that nerdy guy who is summoned to read some of the the comments and emails, however.
  24. So.. Batman: Arkham Asylum

Actually, having X-ray vision makes you the world's greatest detective*. Anyway, just played the demo. Somewhat enjoyed it. Wouldn't buy it. Not my cup of game.
  25. Company of Heroes: Anthology (with CoH, Opposing Fronts and Tales of Valor) for 13€ is a pretty sweet deal for everyone who is into RTS and doesn't already have any of those games (if there is one). Too bad there aren't that many good PC or PS3 games on that list. I thought about buying Assassin's Creed for 20€ for a moment but I couldn't because the thought of actually getting it for 5$ through Direct2Drive* had I been American irritated me too much. That and the fact that Assassin's Creed 2 will be released soon anyway. *How does gifting work on D2D, btw?
