If you only consider the main story missions (and the side missions assosiated with them) I'd say you have played more than a third of the game. Or something like that.

Holy shit! I just finished a game! It was Mass Effect. I am very surprised that I actually completed the game, as I only began playing it so that I wouldn't have to play Civilization IV. I thought space RPG wouldn't be my thing, but I was able to follow the story all the way to the end and actually enjoyed it quite a bit as well. Hated the combat, though, up until where I finally had a decent assault rifle and the enemies began dying when I shot at them. The little gameplay there was left felt a lot more enjoyable. The equipment management sucked quite a bit as well. I heard the combat feels different in Mass Effect II. Will I enjoy it more? If so, I might have to buy it on today's Steam sale, which went up the minute the credits started rolling on the first one. Edit: Just played the demo. Sold! Playing "old" games is great. The total price of Mass Effect and Mass Effect II: 26,47€.

I have no idea what the actual reason behind Apple's decision to ban Flash is, but Flash is still quite a resource hog and the article you linked to doesn't seem to deny (nor confirm) that.

They voice felt "wrong" to me at first but that was only because I had, for some reason, assumed that all the equipment in Aperture Science lab would have female voices.

  8. Summer Steam Sale

I think there is something like that. It tells what you should do for a while and then lets you continue from there on your own.
  9. Scott Pilgrim [video game]

More people have formed their opinion on popular things so they will of course have more haters than relatively unpopular things. If you are implying that some people hate certain stuff just (or partly) because they are popular you might still be right, strong reactions then to have counter reactions, but I don't think that is really the case here. I had barely heard the name of the comic before I saw the movie trailer and like Chris have no idea how popular or respected the comic is. The art style and the entire setting just instantly puts me off. Even if I was the only person Bryan Lee O'Malley had sent his work to, I still couldn't imagine liking it very much.
  10. Portal 2

6-7 hours sounds just right considering all the new mechanics they have added: the funnels, the bouncers, the paints and so on. Not sure if I could handle a 20 hour puzzle game. I'm really pleased that there is a separate co-op campaign as well.

Just completed Red Dead Redemption. The ending was somewhat satisfactory; reminded me of . I was a bit surprised about the lack of before the final mission, though. There is something about Rockstar's storytelling that doesn't really do it for me, but I don't quite know what. Nevertheless, I still enjoyed the game a lot. I will probably complete Mass Effect next. I was ready to quit after the exhaustive mission in Noveria, as I thought I had only completed about 10 % of the game, but then I found out there weren't that many story missions left.
  12. Driver: San Francisco

The first one was excellent back in the day. As I remember you couldn't even get out of the car during the missions so it was basically like GTA with nothing but driving. It was released before GTA III so I was blown away by the 3D open world. I hope the new game will be good cause I'd love to do some more driving. Was there armed combat in Driv3r by the way? Edit: Just watched the video. What? So it is all a dream?

Oh yeah, the codex pages. I had already picked up most of them so that wasn't a big deal for me. I was talking about the capture the flag thing during the carneval. Of course that is not a real fetch quest, but I was still sleepy when I wrote the first reply.
  14. Recently completed video games

The fetch a flag quest? It was the most annoying mission in the game, in my opinion, although I beat it on my first try.
  15. Portal 2

The gameplay looks pretty insane with all the new mechanics and more aggressive environment. I really like the visuals as well now that there is something organic in the mix. Can't wait to play this!
  16. E3: The Keynotes

How can Skyward Sword look worse than Twilight Princess? Does this mean that Wii isn't the same as two Gamecubes taped together after all? Oh well, I will still probably end up buying it at some point at launch. Some of the 3DS games look pretty interesting, however. I would obviously have to see the 3D effect for myself before I decide to buy my first handheld console. I doubt I will, though.
  17. Rayman Origins

My favourite thing of E3 so far. Can't wait to start slapping a statue in the face with my friend. Has the co-op been confirmed yet? I didn't own a Rayman game back in the day but played the first one a lot at a friend's place. I only started missing the games when they were gone.
  18. BP oil spill: it's viral. It's great that you are finally back to being back.
  19. Scott Pilgrim [video game]

No, you are definitely not the only one who doesn't get Scott Pilgrim. The first time I really took notice of the thing was when I saw the trailer for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. I'm still confused as to what is the "target audience" (as much as I hate the term) for both the comic book series and the movie. For some reason, I'm not interested in the thing at all. The game on the other hand looks pretty great, in a way. Good job whoever is responsible for it. Not sure if I would play it though.
  20. Red Dead Redemption

I hadn't heard anyone talk about the mission before, but it still seemed predictable and stupid. Also, what's with all the ? I hope that I at least don't have to fight the by the end of this game.
  21. XCOM returns

The weird 60's "everything is tip-top in this house" visual style works really well, in my opinion. Not everything has to be gray or brown or otherwise depressing as shit. I haven't played any of the previous X-COM games. How serious are those? I'm really hoping this game will have a clear parody element to it. The only hint of the possible lightness of the game I could found on the trailer was the awesome voice at 1:24, though. I probably will not play this if this is going to be a serious game...
  22. Anyone want a Pipboy badge?

    Got it! Cool! Thanks!
  23. Telltale Jurassic Park

That saber-toothed thing sure looks angry. Yeah. I'm interested to see how good they can make the dinosaur look. A cartoon look just wouldn't feel right if you ask me.
  24. Telltale Jurassic Park

... And Back to the Future ? Not sure what to think of this. I'm not a huge fan of Jurassic Park and I haven't watched any of the Back to the Future movies. I hope the games will be great, though.
  25. Shogun 2: Total War

Not sure if I got your question, but I play Total War games mostly for the turn based strategy part. It's awesome.
