While you are watching sci-fi stuff and if you end up liking Moon, you should probably check Sunshine out as well (if you haven't already).

I don't think it really matters whether you have played platformers or not. The game will make you its bitch either way. I only played through the first set of levels. Super fun! The levels are just sort enough that you don't get frustrated even when you die constantly. A word of warning: this game is not meant to be played with keyboard. The game itself states that upon opening. What? How can someone seriously claim that Civ IV looked better than V? I think Civ V map view is absolutely gorgeous.

I actually uninstalled Civ IV (and the expansions) after my first game of Civ V. I just couldn't think of a reason why I would have wanted to play IV instead after that. Some, however, will probably enjoy the older Civ games more as some features have been removed or "dumbed down" in V. I, as a semi-casual Civilization player, think that pretty much all of the changes were for the better.

Agreed. It's all an ugly mess and as Assange, to my knowledge, is not in fact a saint, there is always a possibility that he really is guilty of the things he is accused of. Rape (or whatever) can't be justified by freedom of speech.

Is using a computer (for writing, making music, etc.) always a potential hazard for you or just when you do it too much? I mean if you were able to limit your (not overstimulating) computer usage to, say, an hour or two at a time and then had a break would that be safe? I understand that even 'relatively safe' is maybe too risky in this case, but how much of the problem, do you think, is the 'addictive personality'. I'm sorry to keep pushing this, no need to answer if you don't want to. I just know next to nothing about the condition.

Just watched Rare Exports. What a refreshing experience! Really well made movie overall. Except maybe for the poorly written kid stuff but that's a minor complaint.

Ahh.. The semi-familiar feeling of pre-Christmas stress: laser technology and microfabrication are down but history of science still remains. And after that: Christmas shopping. (I think I could pass the courses with lot less effort but my inner need to do as good as possible in most things won't let me degrade my course average.) Anyway, it's not that bad. My vacation starts tomorrow, unless I get trampled by the furious horde of last minute Christmas shoppers and their trollies full of electronics.

Finally a game for me!

Fine.. Yeah, the scanning was quite dull and pointless but it didn't bother me that much. On the other hand, the Mako sections could have been interesting but they were so poorly implemented that they made the overall game seem of less quality. I hope they can find some kind of compromise. Mass Effect 3 trailer.
