I've been enjoying A.V. Club Inventory lately. I like their positive (as opposed to cynic and mocking) attitude towards all this hilarious crap: MCbR6YQ-pqc Love this!

Yeah, nothing new in that. I'm somewhat disappointed that even Esra Thompson, being a dolphin, didn't know any better, though. Terrible thing. Good thing Japan has high building standards or the damage could have been much much worse.

I think it's just a myth. Much like Rick Astley's alleged Never Gonna Give You Up (or Take You Down, or whatever) music video.

Yes, I see your point. I'm not entirely sure what you mean by 3D medium, though. 3D glasses and the like would only add stereoscopic depth to the mix. We would still be limited by the 2Dish nature of our vision (our retina is not entirely unlike a film or CCD, after all), and our nonexistent experience with 4D geometry.

I can relate to this. I find nothing to interest me in most things sci-fi, yet absolutely love stuff like Moon or Sunshine or Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy or Vonnegut's The Sirens of Titan or Lem's Solaris. Space can be an amazing setting to explore everyday themes in, because you can turn everything to eleven if you need to. In my opinion, Solaris is a perfect example of this sort of thing done really well.

I assumed we were talking about the fourth dimension of Euclidean space, one whose axis is orthogonal to the other three. While time is sometimes referred to as the fourth dimension of "spacetime" it is very different from the spatial coordinates.

Mathematically there should be no difference, but perceptually it would probably be very different. We have no real world experience with 4D. Furthermore, one could argue that we already see 3D scenes more or less projected into 2D space, forced to rely on various depth cues to judge distances and ordering in one direction.

I haven't followed the Charlie Sheen situation too closely. Is he really that fucked up? That Rubberbandits song was amazing, though! I hope Slipknot won't sue them for their masks.

Shit. They found a loophole.

GDC 2011: The Idle Thumbs Conf Grenade: Hold On To Your B.U.T.T.O.N.

Yey! I knew your breakup was just a media trick. -
Yeah, I love the fact that the mechs are actually mobile trenches. And very impractical at that. For some reason it's Microsoft Game Studios this time around. And Brad Muir's name was tossed here at some point.

I would think that, for instance, Hothead wasn't worse off for releasing Deathspanks on PC. In fact, it seems that many people here, including me, only bought it after the PC release. I understand why we are not going to see Uncharted on PC, but I see no reason why recent Double Fine outings couldn't be released on PC as well. They seem to be fairly low budget games and I'd much rather compare them to Deathspank than Uncharted or Bioshock or whatever. But to be honest, I don't understand this whole discussion anymore. I'm puzzled by some people being puzzled that other people are disappointed by a company's decision not to release their games on platform X even though they should be used to that by now. What's so strange about that? Looking back at what has been said in this thread it seems that no one has been denying this. I also see no point in we collectively admitting it.

No need to mix Nazi SS into this discussion.

I don't know. Maybe just because of that?

What a lot of smaller sites seem to be doing nowadays is to have a separate blog for announcements and rants and so on and just have a link to it (and possibly an rss ticker or something) in the actual webpage. I don't know anything about websites, though, so I can't help you at the actual implementation. Or in fact, at all, as what I have said has basically been stated already. Maybe something along these lines would be enough: http://www.rsspump.com/ (That's just the first page google provided me with, so it might be... you know... shit.)

Well played, violin man. You're completely right, though. We shouldn't be expressing our disappointment at not being able to play a game that we could potentially love playing.
-
The thing is, I don't have much interest in Medium & Spirit Guide detective agency but could use some sci-fi noir action for the setting alone. Maybe I should wait for the a sale or something.

I just think it's amazing that this one isn't even coming out on PS3. Oh well..
-
Ahaha.. "The world is lit by dragon oil." Skillful adaptation.

I'm still confused. Should I buy this game or not? And who's getting the money?
-
Excellent suggestion. Yes, try that first.

Have you actually tried contacting Apple about it? The repair might still be covered by warranty because the device broke so close to the expiration date.
