  1. no gizmondo support here then?

Jeez, just checked all of monturner's previous posts, he actually talks about the Gizmondo more than I obsess over SEGA. Nice one man!
  2. Seen any good movies lately?

If you liked Seven Samurai have you seen any of his other stuff? Throne of Blood, Ran, and Yojimbo are essential, I watched Ran for the first time two weeks ago, if Kurosawa hadn't been getting old he would have made some incredible colour films.
  3. Dave Chappelle: Gnome Warlock

Spaff you'lll be happy to know that David Chapelle is currently residing in a mental institute in Africa after having a breakdown from taking too many drugs. I don't know, John Belushi dies yet Dave just has a close shave. Sometimes there is no justice. Except with Chris Farley.
  4. Now this is a Sonic The Hedgehog fan!

*Involuntarily has orgasm while scrolling down the link* Stuff signed by the Sonic Team, more stuffed Sonics than in Dr Robotnik's fantasies, that guy is either amazingly fortunate or very, very rich (well poor now). I'm trying to stop salivating.
  5. Sony going to lose $100 on each PS3 sold?

If that is true, I'm genuinely going to be really happy to see that happening.
  6. Neo Geo CD games worth playing?

It was released on the Mega-CD. And if you can get it, Samurai Showdown 4 is one of the best beat-em-ups, ever. I've just seen a Neo Geo CD on sale in a Gamestation in Cambridge... Am still drooling.
  7. Psychonauts Nominated for Crappy Award Show

    Anything by SEGA, especially XX/XY.
  8. BUY games? what are you, stupid?

I buy my consoles ages after their release, so i get a fairly good deal. Most of the good release games have then come out at budget prices. At the moment a place called Gamestation in England are flogging four Xbox games for twenty quid(thirty odd US dollars), none of them are amazing games but thoroughly enjoyable for the pitance I paid for them. I'll continue to buy Xbox games when the 360 comes out as loads of places will have clearance sales on the titles so I'm going to have plenty to play until the 360 becomes affordable and the cycle will continue...
  9. I was hooked on computer games when I started playing Granny's garden on the BBC microcomputer that my father acquired from the school that he had worked at closed down. My first home console experience was the NES, with Double Dragon 2. But the first time I experienced a games console that was mine... I was in Coventry over the summer holidays (1991 I believe), staying with my grandparents. It was only about a month after my birthday and my parents had agreed to let me have a Mega drive. It was originally supposed to be a NES, so that I could trade games with two kids who lived across the valley from me in the Algarve. Fortunately they upgraded to the SEGA console just before I went on holiday. I picked a Megadrive up second hand for a hundred and ten pounds, with two control pads and three games (a decade later I picked up my second Dreamcast for the same price with twice as many games). Sonic was good, Altered Beast was awesome (and completed in two hours); but it was Quackshot that held my attention for two whole months until I started playing Super Smash TV. I remember getting back to Portugal and excitedly trying to tell my parents about it all, and them getting that bored look in their eyes. I still see it now when I talk about my job...
  10. Gamer's Manifesto

I just saw 'Dr House' with Hugh Laurie in it. An in joke for all the English readers, the kiddie who plays the British, benevolent, blonde, is the same actor who played Billy (Karl and Susan's son) on Neighbours. It is fucking freaky, because his posh English accent is spot on when he is originally from Oz. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0817980/ Here be proof, and the sad thing was I figured it out, without using imdb. Am I scaring you yet Bob?
  11. Old PS2 games

Mmmm, Rez (the royal)we love you.
  12. Gamer's Manifesto

I know what you mean, working as hard as you can to build up ypur defences to find yourself being interminably tank rushed to oblivion, it has been a problem since Dune 2 and they have never sorted it out. It is why I find myself playing games withh only one difficulty setting more and more often. Just checked out the Action comics links, they were great!
  13. San Andreas (PC)

One day I will understand what makes computer game players go weak at the knees over GTA, one day. I've played all the different versions of the game, after many encouragments by various mates and I still don't see the point in wasting my time with this series. Admitedly I was hooked on the original GTA on the PC for two weeks then I realised how frustrating the levels were. How unclear some of the missions appeared. Plus some atrocious AI to boot. And then it finally went 3-D, and things got worse. every scenario a player gets into becomes a microcosm, where nothing outside that acknowledges the events in a realistic manner. Rockstar have done a really good job of giving the illusion that there is a living breathing city around you, but due to the predictability of the loading times, I never felt it very convincing. The PC versions of the 3-D games have been the only ones worth playing because the control system is completely retarded, it makes me want to play linear games just so I can feel like I have some choice over my actions. GTA has become a jack of all trades, master of none, I played the RC plane mission on VC and it had me close to tears. The uncompromising manner of some of the missions mean that the player might as well going from A to B. Shit, I actually preferred Mercenaries and The Getaway. Limited in their scope as they were at least they performed correctly the parts they did attempt. As for completing the game a hundred percent, the characterisation was so weak I couldn't have cared less...
  14. Gamer's Manifesto

The only thing he missed in the whole 'making games harder' section of complaints is the fact that game sconstantly cheat, making you crapper for no apparent reason. Example is NBA street, highly enjoyable for about a week, then when you discover all you need is a seven foot guy to block all shots it gets boring. However, upping the difficulty levels just makes it almost impossible to block shots that were originally easy as pie. Instead of making the opponents more skilled, the game has simply made you rubbish. I totally agree with the article, despite his obsession with doom 3. Sorry, was that too on the subject?
