  1. Crowd control - Eurogamer article

No demo as far as I know but the game is pretty cheap in most places. The game is pure crowd control, in that there are hundreds of things running at you and you simply have to shoot until everything is dead.
  2. Where is everybody?

Been working a lot so haven't had the time to post. Am thousands of miles from my 360 and all other consoles so I have been relying on a bunch of games available at the offices I work at and all the XLA titles on my profile. Finshed up Heavy Weapon, Conan (on King difficulty) Halo 3 (on legendary) as well as playing Alien Homnid, Super Puzzle Fighter HD, Jetpac Refuelled (600000 points Miffy!), a bit of Gun on insane (painful) and I finally played the intro to Assasin's Creed, very pretty but it was like being hit by the boring stick repeatedly.
  3. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=142333 I don't care what Ginger says about consolidating companies, this makes for a depressing read. I've never been a fan of the GTA series, but I did like Bioshock and have rated the 2K series for some time. The idea of EA, the death splooge to creativity, getting ahold of Take two makes me very, very sad.
  4. Take Two: The war of attrition continues

You found the thread! I was going to add this link to that one but it just vanished when I looked for it. Point taken, it just happens to be an issue I've taken very much to heart (too much for some I suppose).
  5. It really never fails to amuse me when these things show up. Hasn't Jack Thompson been found guilty of 37 accounts of being rubbish?
  6. Congratulations Miss Rusalka!

Not checked banter in awhile. Belated Happy B'day!
  7. Stop bumping old posts, you dick

Ah! You know you've been at a forum a long time when others start suggesting that you indulge in homosexual practices... Or maybe it's just me.
  8. The screen shots, the lovely screen shots. Madworld has made me think about buying a Wii.
  9. And here is the Eurogamer article restored, got a few of the facts mixed up. http://www.eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=140743
  10. Stop bumping old posts, you dick

Actually he says things like that in an attempt to get me to react in a blustering manner.
  11. Stop bumping old posts, you dick

Its weird at first I found him odious, but little old Wes is harmless (he's not with Limp Bizkit anymore). I'm sort of finding him entertaining now that I realise that he just seems to have visited Idle thumbs as a way to nause the residents or advertise something (incidentally if he gets round to endorsing Viagra or whatever then my sympathies will diminish). Reminds me of an old friend who would just grief me for the sake of getting a rise.
  12. True. I really need to buy a copy of Condemned 2. That game is looking great, even Videogaiden liked it (despite motion sickness)
  13. Ah good, I remembered most of it. Kotaku have it as a rumour. Maybe SEGA haven't signed along the dotted line yet?
  14. Stop bumping old posts, you dick

Unless, of course you want to add something constructive to The Club thread I'm joking, I'm with Thrik on this one
  15. Bastards! They basically signed a deal with SEGA to make three games they were ex-Clover studio people who worked on Resident Evil, DMC and Okami. The first was called Bayonetta and is supposed to rather mental with some woman who has a chainsaw hand and machineguns for feet. The second was a DS RPG which I ignored. The third was supposed to be some kind of hyper stylised Wii game in black and white with tons of gore. Wonder why they got rid of it? I'm rathe rannoyed as I almost copied and pasted the article but then didn't because I was busy.
  16. Idle Eyes (aka: art recommendations)

Been travelling the globe for the last 6 months and there is one book that I carry with me everywhere called Bruised Fruit by David Choe. I find both his art and writing really inspirational (he travelled to the gaza strip and detailed the whole experience) and whenever I'm down I pick it up and read it like a comic book. http://www.davidchoe.com/ The guy isn't a genius but I love his simple, honest style. EDIT: Yeah Dan, those women in the photos are pretty much 100 times more attractive than any computer game character. Not sure I'd be able to get along with their political/religious views though.
  17. Grim Fandango Movie Rumors

Waitaminute. Isn't Wes Borland that twat who used to be the guitarist for Limp Bizkit? You know the one who liked wearing tons of face paint? Who names themselves after a very average guitarist from a very shit Nu-metal band?
  18. Download new NIN album for free

Also, just as an aside. I highly recommend the Natural born Killers soundtrack as curated by Trent reznor. It is a little like listening to the 'All back to mine' series as it seems that Trent is just sticking a bunch of tunes that he likes varying between Patti Smith, the obligatory NIN tracks, Leonard Cohen and errr L7.
  19. The Club

Okay I'm going to bump this one. The Club has gone down in price, please, please is anyone interested? The game has been my staple diet for the last couple of weeks, as soon as I get back to England I'm upgrading my account to a Gold so I can get my scores up there (and get the achievements for the scoreboard). This game gets better the more you play it. The levels are tight and the achievements are perfectly pitched as a way of learning how to keep your multiplier rolling. I would have thought this would have been up a few you rythm/arcade gamers out there and I would absolutely love to compare scores (but not in a gay way) come June.
  20. Haze

Or... It's hyped up to the eyeballs and actually very plain. Does it at least look sweet? Is the Co-op fun? If the Co-op is good then it won't really matter how run of the mill it is a good bit of Co-op = Win.
  21. Download new NIN album for free

The one called 'With hands and teeth' I thought was pretty weak but before that I would recommend 'The Fragile' a double album that has a lot more of Trent Reznor doing dirty electronic and guitar based ambient mixed in with crowd pleaser '*fuckers' a thinly veiled attack at media whores like Courtney Love and Marilyn Manson. My personal favourite of his. Broken and Fixed are both good little EPs and worth chceking out. The Downward spiral is excellent but verges on some of the emo things that you might not like. The remix album Further Down the Spiral fares a little better with some really good Aphex Twin mash ups that have very little (if anything) to do with the original songs. Pretty Hate Machine is alright but I have a problem with too much synth in songs and that album suffers accordingly.
  22. Download new NIN album for free

Enjoyed Ghosts, but have struggled with The Slip. Much preferred the last album NiN released but I'll give The Slip another couple of listens before I write it off. Have loved Nine Inch Nails for years so it annoys me when I don't enjoy an album.
  23. Operation Darkness

I haven't tried Fire Emblem, I know it's caliber and would recommend that over what I experienced of Operation Darkness. I feel my opinion is still coming over too negative... I actually enjoyed the demo, there were lots of well thought out sections in the tactics. The graphics are indeed atrocious but it was simply a lot of fun to turn into a werewolf then move (in classic grid based movement) into firing range and lobbing a rocket into the midst of five Nazi soldiers. Then on their turn they run past my sniper who is in the 'Cover Ambush' mode and she wastes them. I like the fact that ammo runs out quickly and that you can loot bodies for weapons. Miffy don't buy it as a full priced game but yes it will fulfill the joys of werewolves and vampires duking it out (the vampires walk around in daylight too) with zombies in the mix for good measure. Sure there are negative aspects to the game, I already mentioned them but I found myself working past them. I would need a manual though, as I have no idea how the levelling system works and there are tons of menus that makre little sense.
  24. Operation Darkness

Miffy, there should be a demo up on Xbox LIVE, it is about 490 MB in size. I played through it and I must say it has some pretty bad flaws, the camera angles are terrible and often leave you staring at a wall when you should be seeing the character firing a weapon at people or them moving into a better position. Another big criticism is that there is no overview map so somtimes it is very difficult to tell which way an enemy is approaching from. On the plus side the turn based strategy element works well the tactics are solid and they remind me of old battle isle games mixed with Shinning force and a bit of over the top super specials added in for the sake of it. I really liked it but then I've been gagging for a turn based strategy game to come out on a console since Future Tactics.
  25. Movie/TV recommendations

For me that was the point, the characters as well as the audience all spent time looking for some higher meaning, more depth to what was being said. The constant anti-climaxes and the way in which the brothers walked away with very little to show for it hit a nerve for me. If have nothing to start with then trying to find spiritual enlightment really isn't going to work. Although not my favoutite I really liked Darjeeling for its jarring, weirdly paced plot.
