:\ Oh man, that's gotta be the funniest thing I've read in weeks.
-
Ugh, and it's Hilary that's reviewing it. That is probably my least favorite reviewer on the site....

No, I just got really flustered and hung up, which isn't normal for me, but I was on a cell phone and didn't feel like having my yells of Psychonaut-less anger bounce across my college campus. Though I'm sure it would have been greasy-sweet. If it wasn't for those bloody Psychonauts cards I want, I'd tell EB to eat shit and go buy the game from BestBuy or somewhere.

I got chewed out by one of the EBGames people on the phone today. I called and asked when it would come out and, once again, I was told tomorrow. I asked if there was another way they could verify this, since they've been telling me "tomorrow" all week long, and the guy yelled at me to come down there and look it up myself.

lol, yes. Malachite was also pretty well done, though he didn't have to say much aside from "FIND THERMA!" Dear god, I want it NOW! :\

lol, yeah. Not all of the voice work is that bad, though. I'm actually pretty fond of Lewton's voice. Once you get through the intro and a bit into the game, his voice starts to suit him more and more. Nobby's seems pretty accurate, too. But maaaaaaan, Vimes' is bad. That has to be some of the most horrible casting ever. That'd be like having R. Lee Ermy play Raz.

Does anybody else think that bringing Gordon back this soon kind of lessens the impact of Half-Life 2's ending? I mean, it is kind of implied there that Gordon wouldn't be back for a while....and yet here we are back, presumably some time immediately after the events in that game. I'd prefer to play as some other character and just leave Gordon to his fate for the time being, but I'll give the game the benefit of the doubt I s'pose.

They've been sending me these every day, saying the game will come out tomorrow, since Tuesday. I'm just going to assume that GameStop's site is right. The mind plays tricks on you. You play tricks back! It's like you're unraveling a big cable-knit sweater....that someone keeps knitting...hahand knitting...hahand knitting...hahand knitting...hahand knitting...hahand knitting...

Which I suppose answers the notorious Half-Life 2 ending question:
-
And they would be promptly lost before you even finished the first question.

I haven't seen Dark Crystal since I was in elementary school. And even then, it was really late at night on Disney Channel, so I don't remember anything aside from a few blurry images. I've had every intention of renting and watching it for....two years now. Still haven't quite made it yet.... Although I did just buy and watch Castle in the Sky. I'm becoming dangerously hooked on Miyazaki movies. Anyone else a fan? I need to decide what to watch next (So far I've seen Nausica, Princess Mononoke, and the aforementioned Castle in the Sky).

I feel the same way. EBGames even screwed me earlier this week by telling me they had my preorder in, causing me to drive all the way out to their store, only to discover that they made a mistake and only had the X-Box version in. Since then, they've been telling me both that they've heard nothing about these "psychonauts cards...whatever" and that, for the past few days, "Psychonauts will be out on PC tomorrow." Need....game.....noowwww.....
-
Many images of people holding the X-Box version, but none of the PC one going around....
-
What do you want them to do, make all of their weapons entirely 100% original and unlike anything you've seen before? Oh my god! Doom, Far Cry, Half Life 1 & 2, Halo, Deus Ex, and No One Lives Forever all have a pistol! And a shotgun! RIP OFF! ;iljgfklajm;klasjldkgjal;skdgf. And contrary to what you say, no, not all of those guns are exactly the same. For instance: The Doom and Quake rocket launcher functions quite differently to the one in Half Life. Every tried moving while firing that thing?

I don't know. My once lofty opinions of them have since fallen considerably. No BG&E 2? Warrior Within? Absolutely for shit tech support? At least they are keeping the Splinter Cell series going strong and well. Though I honestly don't play too much of it, I definitely respect it as a solid and well done series.

Nope, I just got it for the first time a week ago and I LOVE it. Infinitely better than the first two Discworld games, which were rather poor in my opinion. And since I'm a big Humphrey Bogart \ film noir nut, all the nods to Casablanca, The Maltese Falcon, and The Big Sleep are rocking my world something awesome. But yeah, great game. My only real complaints about it are the twitchy Lewton animations on XP and the voice of Sam Vimes, which is horrid in my opinion.

I was talking about Doom 3.

Ironically, that is the same attitude that got me to buy the game when it came out. I kept telling myself, "It might still be fun! They couldn't have marred EVERYTHING that made the original so great! THE PRINCE CAN'T FAIL!!!!" Be sure to try the glitchy first demo that came out, rather than the cleaned up one that was released some time signficantly after the game came out. It'll give you a better idea what to expect from the actual game itself.
-
Pr'bly because it came out later than the PC version and the dev's had time to add new stuff. Expect similar things to happen with the Far Cry port.
-
Boyd's all the way. It'll probably be a pretty decent look into what my own mind is like.
-
That's Aqua Teen Hunger Force. Can't really get into it myself, but my girlfriend totally swears by it. Venture Brothers is hilarious, though.
-
I just got an email from EBGames. It looks like the ship date for PC Psychonauts has been pushed back again, so the chances of EB having it today might be less than great. I swear, if I walk into BestBuy and find it on the shelf, I'm buying it and saying to hell with my preorder. Edit: And Gamestop's site is saying it wont be released until the 25th.
-
Is this true for the PC version also? Because if it is, I'm totally going to annoy my friends by telling them how I am getting the game for $20, as opposed to them paying full price for the X-Box version.
