My girlfriend wants a shirt that has Raz dancing in Milla's Dance Party and says "You Brave Little Disco Angel" on it. I wonder if we can convince Tim to make them? But anyway, geez Kolzig, that totally blows. I would contact Majesco about it, since I don't think Gamestop can do much outside requesting that you mail the whole game back, then send you a brand new copy. If you send them a link to that picture and tell them they screwed up, I'm sure they'd just mail you the replacement CD....

Further Sin City spoilers... They are already talking about doing Sin 2, as they have Johnny Depp slated as the main character in Hell and Back. The sequel wouldn't be nearly as good, though, just because the stories they have left are pretty weak. A Dame To Kill For is good, but like you mentioned, it being a prequel to The Big Fat Kill might be confusing for audiences. Then all that is left (unless I'm forgetting something) are a bunch of short one shot comics and the really atrocious Family Values. You know, in all the many times I read the first Sin City graphic novel, I never realized Kevin had those claw fingernails? Even though Marv mentions them cutting his eyes, I never looked at them on the page, and always just assumed he was scratching Marv or something. Then I saw them in the movie, went home, looked it up, and said "Well I'll be damned...."

I'm pretty partial to the Lemony Snicket soundtrack.

Definitely. Elija Wood WAS Kevin in the movie, which was pretty scary, actually. And I don't think his character was a rapist. Just a psychotic cannibal.

If you've played it for a half hour, then you essentially know everything you are going to be doing for the rest of the game. The world looks great and the plot is interesting, but the gameplay repeats itself over and over and over and over and over and over again without offering up any real variation. Want to advance to the next plot point? Go kill this person, then get in your ship and fight him (killing him several more times), then race his best friend, then get out of your ship and call me from a pay phone, because despite the fact that I can contact you while you are flying, you cannot do the same. Now repeat that to yourself while banging your head against a wall about four thousand times and you have a vague idea of what you'll be doing for the rest of the game.

They should use some poster shots of him from Sin City.

Probably by Ford, along with, you know, almost every other power.

The Hitchhikers Movie and an attempt as splolerlessness
JoeX111 replied to Bc9b's topic in Movies & Television
Yeah, the romance is handled VERY VERY BADLY in the film. It is positively groan inducing, especially in the scene where It turns what would have otherwise been a pretty good movie into a middle of the road one that isn't bad, but not as great as it could have been. It isn't even the fact that love story is there which bothers me, I could honestly care less, especially knowing that Douglas wanted that in there before he died. It just the fact that it feels completely forced, and the movie bashes you over the head with it every chance it gets. -
'Tis out on PC where I'm at at EBGames, though Wal-Mart and Gamestop only seem to have the X-Box versions for the time being. I've been playing it like a madman since I got it this afternoon. Milla's mind is one fun party.

Do you mean the Bone Wagon theme? If so, that'd be frickin' awesome.
-
Yeah, and he totally doesn't look there at all.

Also, on the topic of the Psychonauts box art.... The following may contain spoilers, though those of you who have played the demo should probably already know this, though this is based on my opinion having not played the full game yet.

My PC copy is sitting behind the desk at my local EB Games as we speak. Though they don't believe the pre-order cards came with the order (of course), I am above and beyond the point of caring at this point (despite seriously wanting them). *looks at the clock* Hour and twenty five minutes until the library closes.....
-
If EB doesn't have my game in today, I'm canceling the order and going Wal-Mart shopping. This is getting ridiculous.

Actually, my favorite character was Waterhouse, the absentminded mathematician guy? I always found his segments the most fascinating and the most fun, like when he was just standing around watching the attack on Pearl Harbor, not really realizing that anything bad was happening. I have like zero knowledge of math, but I was totally engrossed whenever they were explaining away how they cracked the various codes, or how they needed to find an exact right amount of knowledge and lack of knowledge to expose to the Germans in order to prevent them from realizing that the enigma code was cracked. The modern plotline with Randy was interesting enough, but the Bobby Shaftoe sections just didn't seem to be going anywhere from where I left off in the book. Make no mistake, I thought the book was awesome from what I read, I just kind of lost interest midway through. The same thing happened the first time I read Snow Crash, actually. Then later I went back and reread the whole thing from scratch and thought it was brilliant. And no, I haven't had a chance to read the prequels yet. How are they? Honestly, they sound good, but not nearly as interesting as Cryptonomicon to me.

I've been hyped about this game for quite some time and just recently got a chance to play the demo. Sadly, the game is kind of a let down. The ease of commanding your troops is wonderful, but they don't seem to have much common sense outside of your orders. If you don't continually tell them to follow you, they will remain behind and do nothing. Then, when you get to a position where you command them to open fire on the enemy, they will yell that they can't get to the enemy, because you left them on the other side of a building. Voice work in the game also seems to be questionable, as do facial expressions of characters. I swear, when the "old friend" of the main character showed up in the tank and popped his head out of the top, I thought he was going to say "Hey girlfriend!" But at the same time, it definitely feels way more authentic than Medal of Honor or Call of Duty, as well it should with the amount of research that went into this game (unlike MoA, with entire sections of the game literally ripped right out of Saving Private Ryan). It is still a game I'd like to own and play all the way through, but after the demo, it has fallen off my "Must Have" list into something I'll just pick up when it hits the twenty dollar range.

Man, I'm glad Trep posted after me. My love of genre crap could never compare with his smartly goodness. Although, Trep, your post on Adventure Gamers has me looking up that 39 Steps novel....

Man, I'm kind of in the same boat lately. My past and present book list looks like this: Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket \ Daniel Handler. I highly recommend everyone go out and buy this incredibly fun childrens series as soon as possible. It is very exciting, clever, and full of interesting literary references that adults will love. Small Gods by Terry Pratchett, finished it and loved every minute of it. It has been on my 'To Read' list for ages. Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson. Very good, but couldn't get all the way through it. I stopped about halfway. The narrative switches continually between a story and character I care nothing about, one that is vaguely interesting, and one that is fantastic and not utilized nearly enough. Hex and the City by Simon R. Green. Can't get past the first two pages. I guess I'm just not in the mood for it lately. Bank Shot by Donald E. Westlake. Extremely funny, part of a saga about a brilliant heist planning crook named Dortmunder, who has just about the worst luck in the world. Just finished it. And my now reading \ to read in the future list includes Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett, the paperback version of Edith Grossman's translation of Don Quixote, and the next Dortmunder book, Jimmy the Kid.

I think she does touch Double H's neck when she gets him out, but I can't really remember (very frustrating, considering I just played through that part the other day...). However, I don't think you can argue that everyone she touches gets infected after the first Domz encounter, because she touches Pey'j several times from then up until the point where he gets captured by the Alpha Sections and he never gets infected until the very end. And I don't think you need to use spoiler tags in a thread that says spoiler in the title.

Behold, for sanity has entered Adventure Gamers Forums!

Damn, that turned into one great thread. Sucks about some idiot spamming John, though. -
Geez, I think that guy is one of the Librarians I work with.

The sad thing is, it'll work, too. You should've seen the fans asking him questions at the ComiCon.
