  1. Recently completed video games

Just wrapped up Uncharted 3. I liked it a lot. It's probably a better game than Uncharted 2, but does not have the same out-of-the-blue "wait, I just did WHAT?" factor that the latter had. I still eagerly await the Uncharted game that forgets that guns exist, however, as some of the shooty bits had me nearly gnawing my own leg off to escape back to traversal.
  2. Diablo III

For the record, I beat Diablo 2 nine times without ever hitting the "Battle.net" option. I was HOPING to play some single player today.
  3. Diablo III

Jesus Christ. Third time I ever go to play the game and the servers are down for "maintenance". This is pretty much exactly what I was afraid of. Fuck Blizzard's stupid DRM. It's so rare that I actually bother to pay the full $60 for a game rather than waiting for a sale, and now I'm super regretting it. What the hell?

  5. IDLE THUMBS KICKSTARTER!

Yeah, I'm with you, but when it comes to buying a t-shirt online you don't usually have an option of choosing NOT AA. Anywhere you go, that's the one they all seem to be using. It's a bummer, to be sure. From what I've heard though, Dov may have had to sell the company? This is like 3rd hand info from my partner, so I'm not sure, but having that possibility in the back of my mind makes it slightly less appalling to have some of my money going to them. Hahaha. Too true.
  6. Hitman: Absolution

    Hahahaha. Well played.
  7. Hitman: Absolution

I'm curious as to what kind of name an anti-feminist supervillain would have. I propose a contest.
  8. Diablo III

Do you? I can't remember the last time I ordered a physical copy of a PC game, which is where I do most of my gaming. I only did so with Diablo because I have a thing about wanting to have all of my Blizzard games lined up on a bookshelf. Last summer there was a postal strike, which lead to my school registration getting all kinds of fucked up and likely some venting on my part in the "Life" thread, but I'm not sure what else you may be referring to. At any rate, the only convenient store for me would be a gamestop, and they have made the experience of buying a game from them so inconvenient and irritating I'd simply rather wait for Amazon to deliver a copy of something than go into their store.
  9. Diablo III

Damn you Canada Post. My copy is not here. Unless it shows up tomorrow (and I have never received mail on a Saturday) I will be Diablo-less on my day off Sunday. Bah. Next Saturday I will lose a day to the game, I swear.
  10. Life

The word you're looking for is "colleague." Speaking of college, I just registered for my fall term classes. On the plus side, I have Tuesday and Thursday afternoons off, and all of Wednesday! This means I can work full time during the school year! On the down side, I am able to work full time during the school year!
  11. Life

Subbes! If I send you a letter this week, is it still going to Tallahassee?
  12. Soul Calibur V

I know, and I saw what you did there, but I the fact that he actually started a sentence with "a scrub is the guy who..." made it irresistable.
  13. Diablo III

So I am weak and ordered this from Amazon. I have this thing about wanting physical copies of all my Blizzard games. I don't fully understand it myself, but whatever. Hopefully it's here within the week. I'd like to get in on some co-op while it's still hot, as from what I hear the single player wouldn't really be worth it.
  14. New people: Read this, say hi.

SO damn tempted to register that...
  15. Diablo III

Diablo III: You just don't understand me. You couldn't.
  16. Soul Calibur V

    Fixed.
  17. Books, books, books...

I'm currently reading Role Models by John Waters, after picking up a copy at his speaking tour last month. It's really conversational, mostly just stories about people he knows, but as this is John Waters those people are fucking fascinating. I just finished an incredible chapter about a woman who is now in her 60s who was a member of the Manson family and has spent the last 40-odd years coming to terms with the fact that she gleefully stabbed a woman 16 times in the back when she was 19. Her story of emergence from cult brainwashing and trying to actually become a person again while accepting and moving away from who she was is very powerful, and written with a sympathy and kindness towards both her and her victims that I never would have expected. Given that I just picked up the book on a whim so that I could have something signed by Waters, I'm really happy that I'm reading this book.
  18. Life

Ha, I thought I was the only one who had a pet bathroom spider. I remember the day we found Terry dead, it was much sadder than I expected it to be.
  19. PSN ID exchange

Who was hating? What? The only platform debates I'm aware of are occasional bouts of (justified, I feel) PC superiority...
  20. Diablo III

That's kinda been the source of my apprehension about D3. It's frankly amazing that, as a dude who beat D2 9 times, I've gone a week-ish after D3's release without buying it. Really though, from what I've heard, I feel like waiting on Torchlight 2 may be the way to go for me. I'm sure D3 is a fine product and all, but I'm not convinced that it's for me. If the price goes down or I get it as a gift (seems like the kind of thing my stepdad would send to me sometime, he likes to send me stuff to co-op with him as none of his professor buddies play games) I'm sure I'll enjoy it, but I think that Diablo 3 and I may just have different feelings about what a Diablo character should be. No hard feelings, Blizzard, but Runic seems to have my back now.
  21. G4ming Keyb0rdz

I have a glowy Saitek myself. Not amazing, but has performed admirably for close to seven years now and shows no signs of stopping. I think it's called an Eclipse? It's been so long since I bought the damn thing I don't really remember. I remember that at the time I'd never heard of backlit keys before, and now they're everywhere, so it's certainly been a while.
  22. Happy Birthday!

    Cheers, Thunder!
  23. 3DS Friend Codes

I thought we had something for this already? I can't be bothered to find a link, but I definitely have some other forumite's 3DS codes in my machine...
  24. Yeah, I had a very similar reaction. Good read.
  25. The Electronic Three: 2012

Mr. Caffeine is only good because I have memories of the IT Steam chat while he was doing that shit. I'd be down to watch it again with the chat, provided I'm not at work while all that is going on. Good times with bad conferences.
