I'd be totally in. Most weeks I still work a Sunday shift at the Starbucks, but this week I don't and would be in as hell.

I missed it due to responsibilities. Dare I ask what the greatest instrument is? ...That was not a sexual reference.

I'm guessing a pretty high attach rate for Wii U owners (anyone here with a Wii U NOT own it?) but whether the raw numbers are enough is a different matter, given the relatively low number of Wii U's in the wild.

Obligatory Comical YouTube Thread II: The Fall of YouTube
miffy495 replied to pabosher's topic in Idle Banter
What really gets me about this is that I couldn't stop thinking while watching it that I can think of a few musicians who would probably do something like this, but it wouldn't be a joke and they'd think they were doing something amazing. -
I subscribed from the issue with the WWF's Mankind on the cover (though I bought it for several months before that, I believe starting with the DK64 cover story) through to the release of the Wii. I have no idea what issue numbers those are, but man, Nintendo Power. High fives for any other subscribers on the forum. That magazine was the shit.

Yeah, once things get rolling you don't generally have time to worry about stuff any more. On the plus side, you're going to grad school! You're doing new and exciting things! I'm sure it'll work out great. Update: A week into my first school year as a teacher and I no longer have time to worry about stuff either. On the plus side, I'm having a great time, and a team-mate and I are coming up with a freaking AWESOME outline for how we're going to cover the science curriculum for the year. I'm really excited about this one, and it's going to be a lot of fun. Every meeting with my team has had me come out feeling either super excited. My glaring weakness remains gym class, but whatever, I'll work something out. Everything else is going great. The fact that my contract is only through December is making me super sad now, as it means I'll be leaving this team and joining the substitute teacher roster in only 15 more weeks. It's unreal to me that my time here is 1/16th over already. Still, going to make the most of this time and hopefully start to make a name for myself. Life is good.

Curiously, the Satan particle is repelled by frequently observing mass. (ba-dum tish)

Man, I haven't had a chance to play this since starting school. I need to go get back on that horse. I loved what I played so much.

I'm currently employed as a science teacher for gifted students. *slams door*

That was me who got shot with James' rocket while swimming. Moment of the match, as I was about 50 feet from the getaway vehicle, and about to win the round for the crooks. Well played indeed.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

He's also Ice Cube's cousin (and thus was featured in early Lench Mob stuff), and a marvellously talented hip hop artist. I had no idea he had a new album in the works. I am now pants-shittingly excited about this. -

I'm around for a couple of hours if I see people jumping into the game. I should really be working, but I'm finding it really hard to think straight right now.

Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Yeah, Mafia 2 was awesome. Steam says I've put 14 hours into ACIII. The game has finally started to become a game, but I started it back in April and have been playing only a bit at a time here and there. I just opened up the naval combat stuff and the story is actually starting to be at least a little bit interesting, but it took forever to start getting good. If you're at 5 hours and not feeling it, quitting may be the way to go. It does get good, and I quite like what it's becoming now, but holy shit did it take a long time. -
It was a nice day. My one com-plat, I saw, as in terms o' deus, WAY too much lux. It's too bright, I'm going back to my rock. ...Fuck you guys, at least I tried.

The Dancing Thumb (aka: music recommendations)

Weirdly, I once saw Lou Barlow opening for Dinosaur Jr. Poor guy didn't get a break all night. His solo stuff is really cool though. Also, juv3nal, I need to get more into Daptone stuff. I love Sharon Jones, but don't really know much else. Got any more tips? -
Crabbie's is good. I've been enjoyig Melville's lately. Also a good alcoholic ginger beer. I don't recommend Granville Island's attempt though. Not nearly as good as other options.

'blix definitely played a few rounds, and if memory serves Patters did as well? You and I got through the campaign, and I think we had a third slot that was filled by a couple of different people over the course of that. Either way, I would certainly be in for more, especially if this shows up on PC.

I have also been playing Mario and Luigi 4.

Count me as another. That game was meh single player, but ploughing through the campaign with other Thumbs was a great time. Would play again.

Yeah, the difference between my smartphone and my 3DS is that my 3DS actually has more than two games that I want to play on it. As for being disappointed with the DS, I can only imagine that you must have looked at the two games that you mentioned and then never any others. The DS had one of the strongest libraries of any system in recent memory for me. Absolutely incredible stuff on there. As for the Wii, though there was often a long-ish wait between the really good games, they certainly did exist and I never felt like I didn't get my money's worth out of it. The 3DS seems on track to be just as good as the DS, and the Wii U, while still finding its legs, is looking like it will be a lot more worth it by the end of the year. Pikmin 3 is bloody amazing, and having played the demo for Wonderful 101 twice through now, I'm incredibly excited to get paid and get my hands on it. I think that Nintendo is getting there. Their last two systems have had rocky starts, but I feel like they're going to get there. They already have with the 3DS, and the Wii U feels like it's justified itself to me now. I hope it keeps trending upward.

Horsebag, used as an insult. No idea if this was an intentional reference or not.

Summer is over and the school year as starting. I have bid farewell to student jobs (the hell with you, Starbucks) and have now embarked on my actual career. As of yesterday morning, I am actually a teacher. This is rad, but the big catch is this: Until the Teachers' Union decides that it's done processing all of my paperwork, I can't get paid. As I can't work Starbucks anymore, I have no income from that, and they're saying that they may not be done with all the bureaucracy until the end of October. After mailing the cheque to pay my starting union dues, I have $30 to get me to November. My rent is paid up until October 1st, so at least I can not stress about THIS month, but goddamn. Hopefully they're just really overestimating how long this crap will take and I'll be getting paid by the end of September. I guess we'll see. Fun times ahead. EDIT: Holy crap. I'm not going to name names in case it embarrasses the person in question, but Idle Thumbs is home to some very generous people. I suddenly am a lot less worried than I was. Thank you so much, you know who you are.

Can it REALLY be Canadapunk if it isn't set in Neo Toronto?
