  1. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Isn't Kingdom of Kroz like ZZT? I was given a pirated version of the first Indy game for the Amiga when I was a kid, Monkey Island and Indiana Jones and The Last Crusades were the only adventure games I had played until I had a bit later. Well, unless you count the text adventures I played on my Amstrad.
  2. Books, books, books...

It's here. I think I'll probably get this one. There is also this one with books from relatively famous RPG game authors, Colin McComb is likely to be the most recognizable name?
  3. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

I'd say the first three Lucasarts games (not counting Labyrinth since I haven't played it since it's a C64 game) are the hardest since you can mess up, but Maniac Mansion is the easiest of them? They are still easy compared to any Sierra game though. Maniac Mansion is what gave name to SCUMM, and I'd recommend it, just save often and you'll be fine.
  4. Books, books, books...

Man, I've been finding so many ebook bundles lately I wonder if we should start an eBook sale thread? Speaking of which I found two bundles with two books in common, so I can only get one. One has George Orwell's 1984 and the other has two books from "The Ancient Earth" trilogy, I can't really choose which to pick. :|
  5. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Wow, have you guys checked the rest of the content on the site where I found how to tell if a painting was a fake? It's super useful, it even tells you what you can catch in the village right now! I also learned how the perfect fruit works, it seems that only your "native fruit" can become perfect and it can only be planted in a town where it's the native fruit too, but they can be sold on other villages for a mint! I forgot your ax could break, I guess that means the gold and silver items are in the game? The guide says you buy them in the musuem shop, what I don't understand is why isn't the shop available yet I donated a metric ton of items, I guess I have to talk to Blather's more?
  6. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Well, it's a pretty zen game, a screaming angry mole would scare a little kid if you didn't know it was there, I guess. Whoa, if you want to stock on fruit, play the diving mini-game, I did nothing but collect fruit and the time ran out and there was still fruit to collect. Unfortunately, they were bananas.... which is a bad thing because I love bananas, but I didn't know they were in the game and my beach is already filled with coconuts! I guess I'll cut almost all of them down and restart? *shrugs*
  7. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Frankly, I don't remember, but it's not like you can upgrade forever and nobody says no, they all want more room to fill their house with trinkets. You could very well not pay and stay as a tiny house forever, but it's YOU who wants the bigger house, if you don't want it and you can't say no, they just don't pay for it, it's the same effect.
  8. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Today I saw someone who left a sign at the train exit and baskets of fruit for visitors, which sounds neat... But wouldn't the villagers take them eventually? I made a ridiculous amount of bells today, enough to pay for the rest of the construction of the bridge and a quarter of the loan debt, which reminds me.... Why all the Tom Nook hate? You arrive at the city homeless and with no job, no reference, no credit... and he gives you a loan WITH NO INTEREST and with NO TIME LIMIT.... He's a bloody saint, dammit!

I finished Castlevania: Lord of Shadows: Mirror of Fate and while I found the game more enjoyable than I thought the plot was just too silly...
  10. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

You don't always get to keep the items, in the scavenger hunt I lost with my pockets filled with furniture and I didn't keep anything, I assume the same goes for the item you get from the item match if you lose on purpose. I think it's just fruit, bugs and fish? I just bought the island membership thing, I'm not sure what it does yet, maybe it allows me to visit the island when I'm at someone else's village? I just remembered that you have to "invest" in every place to make them upgrade, the shops become bigger the more you spend in them and the museum the more you donate? Will the coffee guy be in the museum this time too?
  11. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

What were doing up playing Animal Crossing at 3:33AM? ;P Geez, I almost filled my box with fruits from the island and made about 70,000 bells. I could pay any loan in a day if I wanted to, but that would shorten the lifespan of the game drastically. I unlocked more difficult challenges in the island's minigames, but... the reward seems to be the same? I could swear the area had more fruit to pick though.
  12. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

If it's like the other games you'll eventually unlock a hair saloon? Hmm, should you still water the flowers once you get a town development permit? EDIT: I just found a guide that helps you know if Redd's paintings are fake or not.
  13. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Hmm, seeing how the game generates your gender and face depending on the questions you are asked at the beginning... how would you even ask about your skin tone?
  14. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Is it me or is the tropical island almost game breaking? It seems the mini-game islands are randomly generated and they all have rare fruits, so.... you could play the shortest one, go only for the fruits and play until your "transfer box" is full? And since you can stack fruit, that's a lotta bells! I haven't tried it myself, all I did was play the same game a few times and the islands were different each time, so I assume they possibilities are infinite? Even if they are not, it's still a lot of money.

I just beat Luigi's Mansion 2: Dark Moon and... I'm rather disappointed. In the original game you could find a ton of individual ghosts with a distinct look and personality, but here there are only a few that just get stronger as the game progresses. The idea of having more mansions sounds good at first, but the game "stalls for time too much" it's almost insulting. Each mansion is divided in several missions, which are more are less repeated in each mansion. The dog stole the key mission, the rescue the Toad assistant mission, the "Ghosts stole something you need to progress" mission, the "investigate" mission and the boss. The bosses aren't that interesting either, they are always "possesser" ghosts, which possess something until you get them out of it. One boss fight was nothing but a "lazy arena", I really hate when a game just throws enemies at you instead of being creative. Although one boss was actually pretty cool... insultingly easy, but cool looking. The game is much easier than the original, since the game is now mission based, it doesn't hurt much when and if you die. You can even come back to life if you find a certain item in the level. The lighting did look amazing in 3D though.
  16. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Hmm, should I keep an extra bee for trading? I finally caught one today and since they are annoying to catch maybe somebody would like help? Can they be traded? Tortimer's Island is awesome! XD
  17. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Woohoo! I went to Sno's village and Tegan was there and I completed the Itchyosaurus (Actually I didn't know I had any other parts. Oops, I was lucky!)
  18. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Wait, if you put something for sale at Re-Tail, won't some villager from your own town buy it? If not, it sounds like a good idea to simply leave the village open and leave and do something else.
  19. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I got a second duplicate fossil today... I guess nobody opened their gates today because of the bug-off. Has anybody noticed that not only does the stone trick work, but now you can get some gem you can sell for a good price.
  20. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Dang, I saw a bunch of you playing before I had to leave for an errand and nobody was playing when I was back. Hmm, it's still Spring in Animal Crossing world for a few days, right? I really hope I don't missing any Spring exclusive fish and bugs.
  21. 3DS Friend Codes

I think I've got everybody in mine, Hermie, Tegan and Shammack haven't me yet, have I forgotten anybody?
  22. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I'll probably keep duplicate paintings too. If anybody does catch an extra bee, I'm pretty sure we'd be grateful for a trade to save us all the pain of the stings. I think trading for another similar item seems fair and if the only person that needs it doesn't have anything you want, ask for it's value in bells? Or just give it if you feel generous.
  23. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Did you finish the tutorial with Isabelle? You can get one from her if you tell you like fishing during the tutorial. It's only my second day and I already have a spare fossil? It's up for trades of course.
  24. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

I guess we're all still discovering what is new and what is the same, huh? I guess Blather's daughter is gone? And he also doesn't talk as much, he used to have flavor text for every item you gave him, but now it's the same thing every time. I haven't even started doing mayor stuff yet, I so want to build a new bridge ASAP.
  25. Animal Crossing: New Leaf

Man, I made over 50,000 bells in one day, I just fished too much... I really wish you could visit other's town while they are away, because even with all the 3DS friends I have that own the game, I've yet to see any of them have their gates open. Would it be silly to use the Idle Thumbs Steam group to message everyone to open their gates at a certain hour?
