  1. Nintendo 3DS

I messed with the 3DS' clock so I could get more Play Coins for the Street Pass Quest RPG... It took over 150 characters to beat the game about 300 Play Coins and you need to beat it twice to unlock everything, which means it would take over two months to get it normally! I also completed the puzzle thing and it gave me a cool 3D picture, unfortunately, I can only get more pictures when I meet more people through Street Pass, which is very unlikely to happen. The Street Pass Quest is actually fun and challenging! Of course, you can beat if you just keep spending coins to hire new heroes, but it you learn how to play it it's rather fun!
  2. Magicka

Doesn't the game have a near infinite number of spell permutations? It would be nice to be able to remember a few, but I guess the game does have more pressing issues... How exactly do you play online? Steam gave me a serial number, but it didn't tell me where to use it, I thought the game would ask me for it the moment I entered online mode, which I can't get to work. I'll try again later, but I know I'm doing something wrong. EDIT: I just remembered that never fixed Lucidity, that game from Lucasarts that looked nice but was broken as hell, so maybe we should stop buying buggy games and hope they fix it later? Although I'm hoping Magicka online won't be as broken as Lucidity...
  3. Magicka

Oddly enough, I just reached a point in the game where it's no longer fun to play solo.... I also played one of the Vietnam missions, it seems you have to beat the whole mission without dying? MADNESS! I guess that's why it in the challenges section, but still, it's annoying! Who do have Magicka Thumb night here, right? Because it's becoming less and less fun to play alone!
  4. Magicka

I assume you have to beat the main game to play it? Because I don't see it on the menu? Although I'm new to the game and wouldn't know much anyway... I'm having lots of fun so far and I haven't encountered any glitches so far. *crosses fingers* I only wish there was a way to "memorize" your favorite spells and quick cast them...

If only that was "beet" flavored... then it would have been even more hilarious! (Although I'm pretty sure the taste would be revolting)
  6. Back to the Future

    Wow, that worked! Thanks!
  7. Realningu Japaneseru

I can't believe I can still remember what this kanji means...
  8. Magicka

When I'm done with my backlog they'll have made Magicka 2! But seriously, it's still that buggy? They release DLC without fixing the game?
  9. Back to the Future

I'm kinda angry at Telltale now... somehow I never got the email that told me the new episode is out and... I can't get it to work! I contacted support, they claim it will take 14 hours or less to contact me, they took a week and just old me to try it in admin mode, which didn't work.... It's been three days and they still haven't contacted me again. They actually have preview images in the game launcher folder, it looks like the next episode will feature young Brown, which makes sense, let's hope they actually bother to fix my issue by the time it's out! .....GIMME MAH TELLTALE FIX!
  10. Magicka

Magicka is on sale at Steam to celebrate the Vietnam expansion that came out! I finally got a copy!
  11. Questions about PSP and PS2

YES! PERSONA! I vote for Persona too! It's one of the best JRPG series out there! Persona 3 and 4 are on PS2, 1 and a special edition of 3 is on PSP and the Persona 2 remake is coming out on PSP soon! PS2: -Gregory Horror Show, a bizarre and cartoony survival horror -Any game from Vanillaware, they make the most gorgeous games ever! PSP: It's mostly arcade or retro compilation heaven, it's also where a good place to place some JRPGs... EA Replay is the only PSP exclusive compilation and it has console versions of games like Ultima: The Black Gate, Sydicate, Desert Strike, Budokan and Wing Commander. JRPG-wise Lunar Silver Story is a classic that's short but sweet. Kenka Bancho is like Yakuza with teen gangs instead of mafia gangs... it has insult fighting? What genres do you like? You can get tons of game from PSN, some are PSN exclusive since a physical release would be too expensive. I have a few import games and I can guarantee it's region free, you can even access the Japanese or America PSN store and buy games there if you buy a PSN card from that region (you can buy they digitally easily).

This is adorable and hilarious! d5mK7dzyUkM
  13. Realningu Japaneseru

I... learned to read Japanese from the instruction manual from Mario Paint... I almost reached kindergarten level (?)once and then just stopped, but I can still read most hiragana and katana and remember a few basic kanji. Rosetta Stone seems pretty expensive, has anybody tried or heard of Nihongoup.com? I was thinking of giving the free version a go to see if I can actual learn anything. Tell me if you find anything that's affordable and works, toblix! But I wonder... Does anybody know how much does the game story change when they localize it? Do they just translated it or do they alter the story a bit to fit the Western audience?
  14. Jak and Daxter... more like Dad's a Bastard

As a platform game lover, I'm pretty sure I've played most of them and I at least know of the rest.... I think that even the first Bubsy game isn't that bad... compared to the rest of the series at least! It's so strange that they are making a game with the "Sony mascots" together, too bad it's a Move Controller game.
  15. I don't know if I can even classify it as a game, but it's very weird... Osada. I think it's a simulation of what happens when you smoke peyote?
  16. Jak and Daxter... more like Dad's a Bastard

I was going to say I don't think some of your example are mascot games, but I'm not sure I get the concept of mascot or maybe... it's the others who don't get it? I always considered a mascot to be a representative of the company, or at least used for merchandise, but many of the character people consider mascot don't do any of these things. I just realized that many of the mascots from the "Mascot-megaddon" of the 90's never did either of those things? It's almost like people assumed that any toon or non-realistic character in a video game is immediately classified as a mascot? I think that many of the "mascots" of the "Mascot-megaddon" of the 90's are really just trying to appeal to the "toons with 'tudes" crowd back then.
  17. Jak and Daxter... more like Dad's a Bastard

The first Jak & Daxter game is the only one I enjoyed... except for the PSP ones, that is, the rest are just vehicular combat, which I rarely enjoy. I can vouch for Ratchet & Clank too, any game in which you can turn the enemies into monkeys with one weapon, make then dance with another and then summon an elder horror to feast on the poor bastards while they dance to their doom is awesome in my book! I actually tried the first Crash game and... While it's not a bad game, it's has terrible design flaws, like... You can only save if you find the hidden bonus stage AND BEAT IT! I don't think they considered themselves mascot in the PS2 era, the mascot-Armageddon of the previous era made mascots "uncool" in the Western world, although Japan still looks mascots till this day? Oh, and most games had terrible cameras back then, although most of us won't admit it....

    lcGjO-7fFlw Best workout ever?
  19. I picked this up when it was on sale on XBLA the other day thinking it would be worth the risk at that price and boy was it worth it! The game is, basically, what I said in the title, it has the mechanics from Mr. Driller and the power ups from a kart racer, except it's not just a racing game. Sometimes it is just reaching the finish line before the others, but sometimes you're being chased and many of the levels are puzzles that use the Mr. Driller concept in very interesting ways. In one level you must create a block in a certain shape, in some levels you must reach the end of the level with a limited number of moves, sometimes you must destroy blocks strategically to get an item to the bottom of a level safely, and so on and so on... The levels branch a few times which is good because each path has a different challenge, so you can do a puzzle if you don't feel like a race or vice versa. The levels also have several bonus challenges that unlock special characters for multiplayer and "cheats" (all they do is make you look different). So, the gameplay is fun, but the story? It's pretty funny! The plot is just "search for the McGuffin" but the writing will make you chuckle a few times. It may no longer be on sale, but there is a trial mode like on all XBLA games to see if you'll like it!
  20. Japan

Sarcasm aside, is there no truth to the fact that some humanitarian groups don't use their fund all that well? I could swear South Park did an episode mocking some humanitarian who looked like Jabba the Hut and was eating all the food intended for starving children.
  21. Japan

A billion unaccounted for? Are they including donation scams or is this actually companies like the Red Cross? It's disgusting, but there is always people who will take advantage of a tragedy to make a quick buck, I know I got a few scam email during the Haiti incident...
  22. Torchlight?

Torchlight looks like a simplistic mini Diablo game made by people who worked on Diablo! What do you guys think? It looks kinda interesting! I love how the pet can be sent to town to sell your item, I hate having to leave the dungeon just because my inventory is full!
  23. Nintendo 3DS

I'm pretty sure it's a Nintendo thing, it's strange how they can be so innovative in some areas and so backwards in the rest of them. Does this happen only with Shadow Wars?
  24. Nintendo 3DS

I kinda like playing with the smaller resolution, it kinda feel like I'm playing the GBA Micro again! Now I've really played enough with to say how I feel about it. Super Street Fighter IV 3D looks amazing in 3D and while my eyes feel a bit weird I wouldn't say they hurt or anything after a while and I have them at full 3D? About Streetpass, has anybody used it yet? I assume finding another person with a 3DS is pretty hard at such an early stage, I've only heard people who work for game blogs have been able to make it work with the other people in their site. It's a good thing that you can access the same features by using the pedometer, although only 10 coins a day is too little if other games plan to use it. The thing you can do with the coins is fun so far, you can buy extra games in the AR games and use it to play the RPG mini game in the Mii Plaza thingie. Can others see the stuff you get at the Mii plaza? Because I see no point in getting my Mii a Mario hat if you can only see it through Street Pass. The AR could have a lot of potential! Imagine a new Smash Bros game where you can fight where ever you put the AR card? Or a fighting game where each card is a fighter (Isn't that what Eye of Judgement did)? Although playing AR games is as tiring as playing a Wii game, my arms started to hurt after playing Face Raiders for a few stages. The clock app seems stupid, but... It was fun when I discovered a secret! If you get the cuckoo to smash into the screen enough, it exploded and became silver! I guess it's up to the developers to see if anybody takes advantage of this... Am I deluding myself in think that Kojima will include an AR with the Metal Gear game that will be totally insane? Anybody found some hilarious place to play with the AR games?
