What I mean is that I wish that had made an actual new game instead of this remastered versions to prove they've improved. Now a Broken Sword game, just anything to prove that Broken Sword 3 & 4 won't happen again.
-
That's exactly my concern, since their last two games were "piss poor", I can't really trust the new game will be any better. I really wish they did something to prove they still got what it takes before asking for our money. I supported Jane Jensen's because I liked her last game, I supported Tim Schafer for the same reason and didn't support any of the others because they really have done anything lately, or at least anything good.

(Damn, I was about to post this same thing, but Toblix beat me to it, good thing I made a final check before submitting it!) Jokingly, I keep saying that every adventure company ever is going to try to make a Kickstarter, I guess I was right. I was going to say I didn't even remember there was a fourth Broken Sword game, but after googling it I found out I actually own it and I beat it, it's just that forgettable. The footage I've seen so far makes it look like a Pendulo game with better character models. I don't really know, I guess they just what the hardcore fans to pitch in, but just how well did the remastered versions sell for they to think this risky way might work? Anyway, I think unless Infocom, Legend or Magnetic Scrolls come back from the dead, this might be the last classic adventure Kickstarter we'll see. I didn't like the new stuff in the Director's Cut of BS I and I'm not sure I even played the remastered version of BS II, like I said before the last game was so forgettable I actually forgot about it, so I don't know whether to be excited or not. If only they had released something before this to see their progress. Pendulo's Yesterday gave me some hope for their new game, but Revolution's remastered versions don't really tell us if they've gotten any better since "Broken Sword: The Forgotten Forth One".

Well, I suppose I could give it a go in co-op, I assume since it's co-op it's pretty "grief" free?

I can't believe I'm going to say this... but I didn't like Iron Brigade. Then again, I'm not that surprised, I didn't like Orcs must die or any tower defense game, but it didn't seem stupid to buy a game in a genre I didn't like that much, I don't like RTS, but I liked Brütal Legend, so why wouldn't I like DF's Iron Brigade? Then again, Brütal Legend had an easy mode for people who never played RTS, Iron Brigade does not. Iron Brigade is even more complex than average tower defense game, you have to pick up resources manually, and it has way too many types of enemies to handle and like all tower defense games it's not easy to fix your mistakes. In an actual RTS game, you can order your troops to move, but if you placed the turret on the wrong alleyway, you're screwed. I'm pretty bummed out that after all this wait I just can't get into this game.

Permadeath? I don't care how amazing this game is, permadeath is on the top of my list of reasons to not buy a game... I'd rather play a game that's ten times more scary of difficult that a permadeath game. It almost feels like a cheat, of course this game is going to be more scary and tense if you only have one chance to survive.

I'm glad it's finally out for PC, but at this rate I'll never turn on my 360 again. They all end up coming out for PC eventually. I bought it, but I'm in middle of another game, so it will have to wait.

I finally played and beat MGS 3: Snake Eater and it was even better than I expected! The radio conversations about whether how everything Snake picks up tastes like (Why can't he eat dogs?), the crazy Cobra battles, the jungle... The ladder so long it needs a song. When I first heard about the game I refused to play because I wasn't that good at sneaking and though I couldn't do it without the help of a radar, but after playing other stealth games I finally built up the courage (and found the HD collection). Just a few things: -Kojima is crazy in a very amusing way. -Kojima is probably a perv, is there any game in which you don't see a girl in their underwear? -Why do Russians have posters of Japanese models? (Where these models even born back then?) -Why does one of them have a toy mech, did they even build those in the 60's? -Ha ha, very funny, the game makes fun of how much we hated Raiden.

One of the worst games ever has a Kickstarter to make it a like less crappy? Cheetahmen II
Tanukitsune posted a topic in Video Gaming
If you know your Nintendo history, you'll know the notorious Action 52 that included Cheetahmen, a terrible game. This game somehow got a sequel, Cheetahman II, which is super rare and expensive... and had a glitch that made it impossible to beat. Well, apparently one of the persons responsible for it just started a Kickstarter for it and got the Angry Video Game Nerd to help with a video in which he claims he'll make a copy which you can actually finish. Wow, it's already made more than 1/3 of it's goal already, who knew people would pay to play a terrible game? The weirdest thing is that you have to pay SIXTY dollars to get an actually copy of this terrible game.... What?! I don't get it, is this only for hardcore collectors? Why would collectors want such a game in their collection? -

It's not like the AVGN has quit, he's just busy making a movie. People still remember Homestar Runner and that has been dead for AGES! -

The thing about campy cult films is that they are fun to watch, I've never heard anybody say Cheetahman II was fun to play... While looking for someone who actually likes this game, I found some disturbing things. Apparently the Youtube version of the ad from AVGN has disabled it's comments and people claim that in one of the comments Mike Mattei said they don't really support this cause, which is bad since I assume most of the money came from their support. I've seen screenshots of this comment, but that's about it. I also found out that you can already get a patched ROM of this game. So he doesn't even have to fix the game... This could be a scam, but did the AVGN know about it or what he used? I ALSO HATE HOW THE WHOLE KICKSTARTER PAGE IS IN UPPERCASE! According to his bio, Cheetahman is the only game to his name, his "success in the gaming world" was running a game store. Well, if this is a scam, he should know he won't keep a cent of it unless he reaches his goal. -
Wait, Windows 7 can have animated backgrounds? If so, I also want this as a theme! 8D
-
It's the most annoying one to get all the figments in it? (At least it is for me every time.)
-
Specially now that they "fixed" Meat Circus. The creativity of the levels alone still stands out now, we need more levels in black velvet.
-
Either I fail at searching topics... or nobody has created a Super Meat Boy topic yet! Super Meat Boy come from the mind of Edmund McMillen, who you might know as the maker of Gish and the only way to describe the game is an N+, only good! When I left the game I had reached the end of world 3 and everything is more or less a fair challenge.... although for a even bigger challenge you can beat the levels time record to unlock the nightmare version of that level... You can also collect band aids or find secret warp zones to unlock extra character from other indie games, so far I've unlocked Captain Video, Gish and Ogram (it look like bizarro Meat Boy) and I can see Alien Hominid and the Braid character are among the other unlockable characters and each have their own special ability, which makes certain levels easier. It's pure homage to retro gaming, with each intro of each level being a parody of an old game and a pretty hilarious outro after each "boss" level... Oh, and it's 800 MS instead of 1200 for a limited time!

This thread is pretty unhealthy for your nostalgia glands. Such an overdose! I used to turn on my Amiga and let this theme play for ages...

I beat the only God of War game I missed, Ghost of Sparta, a side story on the PSP remastered for PS3 which looks amazing for a PSP port. It's the usually stuff, Kratos kills half the planet for his own selfish reason because he's a douchebag and everything is probably his fault to begin with. They introduce some characters that give some background to Kratos that was pretty interesting and didn't seem to be necessary for the main narrative except for the fact that...

Just one final thing, I cracked the safe code with the disquette contents and WOW, does it change your perspective on the game! And I've heard it might change depending on how you play!

I love mostly chiptunes, specially this one: I had a very strange relationship with music as a kid, I "hated" music, even though I loved video game music, I didn't believe it was the same thing, that is until I played Parodious: Once I realized one of my favorite games had classic music remixes in it I finally had to admit that I liked music.

Why do they always use Jane Austen's book for parodies? First zombies, now "smexy fanfics"? (I could swear there was a "Jane Austen meets Cthulhu" ones too?). They are also making 50 Shades of Green, a parody with a leprechaun (?), just how terrible is this book?
-
I heard the PC version of From Dust is a terrible port, maybe that's why? Is anybody else checking Steam often anyway, just out of habit?
-
I finished Red Faction Armageddon which is much better than I expected, except when At least you unlock a unicorn gun when you beat the game, but I'm not sure I'll bother to replay the game.
-
Yeah, but I think it was just 33%? I'll wait till it's cheaper on the next sale.
-
It's kinda Telltale-esque, I don't think you ever had more than three rooms per area to explore, which makes the game pretty lineal. As much as it saddens me to see this game made so cheaply, I loved the story and would recommend it if you don't mind what I said before. (You might want to get the cheaper iOS version though). Frankly, I'm curious about the lower budget of this game, maybe Pendulo Studios couldn't afford to make it like older games? The Kickstarter suggests it might be true. Or maybe they just made it this way for iOS since it's more likely to sell there?
-
I completed Yesterday and something really impressed me, while others really depressed me. Will they ever be able to make a decent mouth animation? It's about as fluid as a low budget cartoon from the 50's, which makes no sense since everything else is decently animated! The things juv3nal said about the iOS version are ALL in the PC version, it's the SAME game and the character ALWAYS teleports, which saves times but feels cheap. Many of the things in the game feel cheap, instead of what most games do, who just move their hand in a actiony fashion to use an item, they take the lazier approach and just make the item appear next to the other item and viola! Interaction! It's like playing a cheap IHOP game. The game has it's own "Gina" and the cheap romance kinda bothered me, then again, most romance in game stories tend to suck. And the game felt almost "Telltale short", which is something I like, but is likely to bother others. The good part? The plot twist, the game was getting on my nerves with the story, until it all made sense and was pretty good, at least better than other Pendulo Studio games. I'm a little more hopeful now, as hokey and cheesy as they usually are, it looks like can at least make more interesting stories now.
