I beat Vera Blanc: Full Moon, a "visual novel" that surprisingly enough had no teenage girls showing their panties. It was about a girl that can read minds and is on her first case to find a werewolf. The game has a few minigames, mainly the mind reading one where you have to guess the phrase (Hangman?) and it's mostly about looking for clues about whether the werewolf is real and who could it be. I don't think you can actually miss on vital clues since it looks like the day ends when you have enough clues, but I could be wrong. Two spoiler-y things bothered me:
  2. Psychonauts

If you mean the monsters that shoot cannonballs at you in that level, then yes, ThunderPeel is right, you have to TK them into the water.
  3. Clueless Gamer

I saw the RE6 one and laughed out loud, but I don't think he said anything I wouldn't have heard some other video reviewer say. What game isn't absurd when you really think about it?
  4. Steam Greenlight

It looks like we have another Steam Greenlight bundle, with mostly manga games? I like the idea of creating these bundles to increase awareness and increase their chances of getting on Steam, they even say you'll get a Steam code if you buy the bundle and it makes you'll get a Steam code. Of course, this will only work if the voting system works like promised.
  5. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

I can understand the "thiefy" option, when you start out in most western RPGs you practically have to rob everybody blind just to make ends meet.
  6. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

So, you don't like if your thief is just a glorified lockpick or when you can barely using your sneaking skills and things like that?
  7. Steam Greenlight

Frankly, I'm more confused than pessimistic, it's seems strange that we have 10 greenlit titles when every other title hasn't even reached 10% of the necessary votes. I'm just not sure I get how it works. I've seen more popular games than that have been on Greenlight since practically day one, with barely any votes. I also don't like that you can't see how many favorites or anything thing else a game has, but the "percentage" of votes. Well, that and the comments.
  8. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

My wizard snobbery has made me quit all the RPGs I tried to give another chance. Either the spells felt worthless or simply not worth my time. I enjoyed Gothic 3 enough to play it the most, but eventually I saw no way of getting to learn magic in sight and with the harsh learning points skill system, I didn't think I could have the patience to wait long enough to find a wizard and then find enough learning points AND money to get a spell. :| Some games gave me a spell right away, but the spell couldn't even take down the weakest enemy even if used all my MP while fighting.
  9. Steam Greenlight

I wonder how long we'll have to wait to see the next batch of Greenlighted games? Every other game I've voted for hasn't even reached 20% of it's unnecessary votes, I really don't get how the voting works because it doesn't make sense to see some of the games listed with such a low score. Some of these games got several thousands of people to Kickstarter them and yet they are still with such a low score... that's disturbing.
  10. Steam Greenlight

It's good to know they've actually let some of these game pass Greenlight, but it troubles that it's mostly zombies, shooters and Mincecraft like game. At least McPixel passed Greenlight, which gives me hope.

I just realized I had Stacking on Steam unplayed which I beat and then play the Hobo King adventure, which was new to me. I loved the idea and look of the hobo kingdom and it had a few cameos from the normal game. It was just another chapter, but it was a fun one. It looked like most puzzles had one relatively easy solution and one devious one, so everybody would be satisfied.
  12. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Syder Arcade This is the only game I "quit" of the Greenlight Bundle. It's half bullet hell, half Defender, something I'm surprised hasn't been done before. Strike one for the game for have bullet hell-ish pattern with a non-bullet hell ship, A.K.A. not having a tiny hit box, but it never had too many bullets on screen, so it was doable. Strike two, three and up until infinity was the very second stage. It's common knowledge that we all hate escort missions, right? Imagine having one in a bullet hell game! Yep, hundreds of bullets on screen and you have to protect a space ship from them... Need I say more? Well, I should say that you can't stop the bullets, all you can do is hope you destroy every enemy on screen before they shoot and since this is a bit like Defender, they come from both sides.
  13. Steam Greenlight

WayForward and dtp Entertainment (They published Grey Matter and Black Mirror) have to go through Steam Greenlight? SERIOUSLY? These are established companies that have existed and published games for decades! I find it insulting that even companies like these have to put up with Greenlight, shouldn't this be only for smaller indie companies that have to "prove they are worthy" to Steam? As much as I love these smaller indie games, I can understand why Steam would hesitate to release them on Steam, but WayForward? *facepalm*
  14. Steam Greenlight

On a related note, I played most of the games from the Green Light Bundle and I noticed they felt like iOS games, because 90% were actually iOS games, I checked! Heck, once of them even glitched up a bit and made the touch screen buttons appear on screen! Which brings me to make one question, while I don't have anything against iOS games being on Steam, do they even have 99 cent games on Steam? Would it be OK for them to charge more?
  15. Steam Greenlight

It still doesn't help that much, I'm pretty sure there are jerks willing to waste 100$ on make a fake Steam Greenlight submission.
  16. Steam Greenlight

They seem to have dumped all entries and restarted? I only see six entries now. :| Did they change something again? EDIT: Oh wait, they did, they just give a list of six games to vote for and then you can view all the rest.

Oh yeah, I forgot about how great Condemned was! The fact that you spend mostly of the using your fists or melee weapons instead of lasers and machine guns. And it was more "restrained" and didn't spend the whole game sending monsters at you and let the atmosphere grow more tense.

Isn't Platinum Games formed from ex-Clover members? It should remind you of God Hand since it's the same people! God Hand is "PS2 easy", which isn't like modern easy modes. It was still pretty challenging for me, but in a good way. Anyway, I just beat F.E.A.R. 2, which I kinda had to since I beat 1 & 3 and it's just felt weird but, wow... American AAA companies just don't know how to make scary games! Dead Space and FEAR just keep throwing gore, blood and jump scared and hoping that will scare you. And in FEAR you get to ride a mech, which makes YOU the scary one! Near the ending I was mowing down enemies to a heavy metal tune, which made me laugh hysterically. Yep, nothing says horror like overpowering your enemies while heavy metal music plays, I mean, when ever I see I get a ridiculous weapon and get to go through my enemies like a knife through butter.... That's terrifying! I hear FEAR 4 will be in giant mech where you'll be squishing enemies like roaches and you'll hear spooky noises like chains rattling to keep you scared! The mech comes equipped with a fake skeleton that drops in front of you at random to scare you! SO SPOOKY! But seriously, that's how American AAA horror games feel like to me.
  19. Steam Greenlight

I read what some developers said on RPS and I liked what the Antichamber guy said. Release it else where and then use that money for Steam Greenlight. I know some people live check to check, but if your game doesn't make enough money for the fee, then it wouldn't have passed the Greenlight system anyway, right?
  20. Comics Extravaganza - Pow Bang Smash!

I haven't bought many comics lately until I discovered ComiXology for digital comics, which is great since I can't afford shipping and I don't really have space for them anyway. The first two comics I bought were Scud The Disposable Assassin and The Pro. Scud was pretty amazing, it's the tale of a robot that must self-destruct once it's completed it's mission, so it simple "half-kills" the target and puts it in the hospital and has to take on more mission to pay for the hospital bills. And it's pretty crazy! The Pro is a parody of superhero comics in which a prostitute is given super powers and joins a parody of the Justice League and well... hilarity ensues? Oh, and I bought this... It's like a 90's cartoon with dinosaurs and lasers! DINOSAURS AND LASERS!
  21. Steam Greenlight

Now it's more like XBLIG than ever!
  22. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Ouch, losing saves is possibly the worst thing that can happen to you when playing a game, I'm pretty sure I've quit any game where I've lost my save due to a glitch.
  23. Steam Greenlight

They've already been doing "whatever sh*t they want and called that a game" before Minecraft on XBLIG and iOS store and I'm pretty sure they did it on PC too, they just didn't have a "hub" for all these games before Steam or Desura. I don't think we have more indie games than before, I do believe we have more indie games that are top quality entertainment though. Although you might be right about Steam getting more indie games than they can handle. EDIT: Woah, Steam seems to have lost all the votes on Greenlight because all the games I voted for as no longer in the list of "voted". EDIT 2: Huh? Some of the games I voted for are actually gone! I wonder what happened?
  24. Steam Greenlight

I really hope not, that would a step back and bad thing for indie games in general. Which would be weird since Steam is the place to buy "Indie Game The Movie".
  25. Quitter's Club: Don't be ashamed to quit the game.

Could you be a little more specific on Majora's Mask? I did specify on being more specific on why you hate Majora's Mask. Are you sick of Zelda games? Did you hate the time limit? I find it "unhealthy" to quit without a good reason.
