  1. Baby Animal Gif Emergency Rations

God I love that. Giant Anteaters are pretty much my favorite animal ever.
  2. I Can't Go For That (Game Series)

Wow, how did that happen? Such a strange place to start. Valve Games - Nothing Valve does actually interests me. The art direction generally seems so stale and unappealing. I don't find any of the characters appealing or interesting. The games seem like boring first person shooters, and in general I hate playing those. I will just never understand the hype around Valve games and I'm not about to force myself to play them all just to understand. I know people who play every critically acclaimed game so they can have an opinion and something to talk about, but to me, life's too short and I have too many other games to play to actually bother. The only game I'm even actually interested in is Portal 2 and only because for once a game they made doesn't have shit art direction. The guilt I feel is because the have been many people who I've talked to assume I have bad taste or a general dislike of video games because I have not basked in the glory of Half Life. Bioshock games (and possibly System Shocks) - I really like the art direction of every single one of the games in the series, but again, I feel like I will become incredibly bored because of the FPS stuff and I'd rather just play them for the story and art than any kind of actual gameplay. For whatever reason, Bioshock 2 actually seems like the one I'd enjoy the most. Deus Ex and Human Revolution - Seeing a trend? Another critically acclaimed story FPS that I probably will never get around to. Out of all of the listed games, these might be the most likely I will play given a decade of time. Far Cry 2 - A game of annoyances? Why? Emergent, sure, but I would never play it to the end. It's more socially acceptable to play a Grand Theft Auto game and never fuck with the story or finish the actual game itself, but not Far Cry 2. Also, FPS again. Mass Effect, all of them - Never going to do these. I don't even like hearing people talk about them. They just seem like a mess of choices wrapped up in a bunch of tedious dialogue while you just kind of shoot things. I'm sure I've pretty much gotten the effect of these games by playing adventures all of my life. Good thing is the hype for the Mass Effect games seems pretty much dead about now and I haven't heard them talked about for a while. League of Legends or DOTA 2 - Why? League is a mess of art direction chock full of ripped off or hyper generic characters (plus all of the women have the same push up bra I guess). DOTA 2 just seems boring. I pretty much will not deal with any game that takes a massive amount of time to get in to and be somewhat good before in order to prevent being villified by the community. Surprised at all of the disinterest in the Rayman games here. I've pretty much enjoyed all of them after the first, Rayman 2 for Dreamcast being one of my favorite games ever. The first Rayman is just okay, but I will admit his character design is a bit bizarre. However bizarre as it is, I've always loved the limbless thing and I even use to design my own characters without limbs for a while in sixth and seventh grade. Plus most of the Rabbids spin offs are actually pretty great, even though they've very much worn out their welcome and I wouldn't recommend playing any after Travels in Time. Rabbids Go Home was amazing.
  3. Bioshock Finite: Irrational Games shuts down

Yeah I edited it. AHHHH, but now it's preserved, Twig. GAH!
  4. Bioshock Finite: Irrational Games shuts down

This attitude is ridiculous. I'm sure the guy was getting paid over 100k or more in terms of salary, so he's definitely a fat cat. Idiot is probably not true, but some people may feel that way. Nor are they "petty, ignorant asses" for feeling that way because they've been on the brunt end of that before. Some people are just incompetant, in charge, and well paid in the worst way. I'm pages behind this conversation, so maybe you already apologized for this attitude. EDIT: Nah.
  5. New people: Read this, say hi.

Poor Twig, getting in to fights.
  6. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

Stupid ass chewing gum puzzle. Too many aspects to it to even be plausible.
  7. The Big LucasArts Playthrough

If it makes you feel any better, I hated this fucking puzzle.
  8. I hope he did a flying kick from behind. Also I hope he stole that guy's wallet for the tax.
  9. Movie/TV recommendations

Oh yeah, I went to school with the woman who did a lot of the 3D modeling for that opening sequence. I never spoke to her and don't remember her at all despite people saying she was in some of my classes. This is really a useless post of nothing. Also my significant other loves the movie but feels the opening sequence is seriously out of place. I can sort of see where she's coming from, but I think it's a nice set up and pretty much lets you know you need to brace yourself for the rest of the movie.
  10. I Had A Random Thought...

How did that happen? I need an explanation!
  11. Life

I don't think their company actually exists at this point. I think they are a front for dealing drugs. I'm actually not doing Half Price Books now, they didn't want me. I got hired at two different hotels for evening and night audit shifts. I'm probably going to take the one that doesn't make me shave my facial hair and is more run down and lets me goof off more. Shallow I suppose, but my fiancee likes those beardy hairs.

I also enjoyed the Fincher version so much more, even though most people will say it's inferior. I am a Fincher fanboy, although I don't necessarily like all of his movies. I feel it's a much sharper movie and more pulse pounding overall. I felt freaked out and relieved over and over in a good way, the rhythm was just right. I read that if the sequels happened, Fincher would only be involved as a producer, not a director.
  13. Idle Thumbs 144: Gimme Some More

Yoshi's Island isn't easy if you are trying to 100% it and unlock all the levels. I did that finally a few years back and while I did a lot of cursing, I never felt it was explicitly unfair. I'm both confused why Jake says the game is easy and why Zack says it is so hard he couldn't even casually finish the first world. Yoshi's Story on the other hand, which I am playing right now, is garbage design for so many reasons.
  14. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

I had a lot of fun putting the sheep at the tip of the bridge and then flipping them to the other side by releasing the lever. Stupid fucking sheep, slide sheep slide.
  15. Life

I recently was completely confirmed to be a City Carrier Assistant for the Post Office on the 22nd, but as said earlier, I am not really up for that kind of scheduling so I'm desperately trying to get out of this before next Saturday with a different job. The stamp licking/envelope stuffing job didn't come through because it ended up being a first come, first serve job at the temp agency and while it's still possible I can get in if someone quits this week, I'm not counting on it. So I took Clyde's advice and visited two hotels needing shifts filled ASAP. So I have an interview for evening shift/night audit at a Marriot Tuesday. Hope I get it as I just remembered how fucking awesome evening shifts on Sundays were at the last hotel I worked at. You'd get like five customers in 8 hours and everything would be super quiet. Haven't done night audit before, but I'm not against it since it sounds just as relaxed and I'm writing this at 5:30 am anyway like a dolt (consider it training). I also might get an interview at Half Price Books this week. That's where I really want to work, to be surrounded by shit I love all day in a calm environment. I don't even care what they pay. I hope they come through. Also it's pretty close to the vet my fiancee works at so we can carpool like awesome economical people.
  16. Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons

Where can I read about this?
  17. Loadout: Am I the only one seeing this? [NSFW]

It's funny because I tried multiple times to work here as an animator, but I wasn't cool enough for this stuff.
  18. Life

Oh no, what happened? I wish you luck on finding your next job way sooner than later.
  19. Chris, did you ever have any issues where you might start a game of Minesweeper on expert mode and then realize five hours have went by?
  20. Plug your shit

Awesome work BigJKO, what artbook is that?
  21. Double Fine's Amnesia Fortnight 2014

Brutal Legend is not quirky. Now Once Upon a Monster, that is some quirky shit. And let me tell you about Zooey Deschanel.
  22. Is free to play inherently evil?

Very nicely said! It makes me think of an episode of This American Life where a casino continuously offers a woman free room and board (as well as other benefits) in order to get her to keep coming back and wasting all of her money on gambling. It's really all a matter of reeling 'em in. http://www.thisamericanlife.org/radio-archives/episode/466/blackjack It's act two of this episode if anyone is interested.
  23. Idle Thumbs 143: This One's Fr4e

To answer the question on where most of the animation came from for Banner Saga, as far as I know the intial stages were completed by a few guys, but the bulk work was done by Powerhouse, an animation studio in Austin who is also responsible for the cutscenes in the Epic Mickey games among a decade's worth of work.
  24. I Had A Random Thought...

    Holy fuck, that bear massage.
