  1. Unnecessary Comical Picture Thread

    H-how?
  2. Job Hunting

Hmmm, I don't know the standard response to this one, but I'm sure tons of websites have the answer, because all these people do is just copy and paste questions they read on other sites as well. It's just a stupid game where you lie. Never tell the truth unless it's something they can actually check, like work history (unless the company is out of business, then lie some more). I mean if you have a truthful amazing example it works, but it sounds like this interviewer was as dull as the questions they asked so they probably just want to hear the answer on their cheat sheet.
  3. BATTLETOADS!

    Arghhhhhhhhhhhh!
  4. And the Award for Best Game Trailer of All Time Goes to...

I'll never play Strafe, but god damn that was amazing. Trailer felt way more 80s than 90s though. A 90s trailer would have had some awkward 3D effects.
  5. BATTLETOADS!

That does not need to be over five minutes!
  6. Idle Thumbs 194: A Grave Ghost

In general I don't like to play games on my PC if I can avoid it since it's kind office work time around it. Plus consoles allow me to play in my living room and hang out with my wife.
  7. Idle Thumbs 194: A Grave Ghost

Thanks Jake, now I'm hyped for Grim Fandango as well and feel like I need to put a PS4 on a credit card to play it but... But there's no reason to hurry, I have played this game like 12 times! (And no I'm not getting it on Steam or GOG.)
  8. It's supposed to be for sale later no matter what, much like the Hyrule Warriors pre-order costumes are now just $1 each.
  9. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Well I hope these Mario and Luigi Greeting Cards have insane resale value!
  10. Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

This is still on my list to play, I am on PS3 and could buy it soon.
  11. The Great Debate: Legalization

I'm a Jennifer Garner. Even though the typical stoners I encounter in life are obnoxious, I'd be more down for the drug if it made me productive. I've done a variety of drugs, but usually it's just caffeine or Adderall these days since they are much more low key. I don't know if there wasn't such a major stigma against cocaine and the fact that it could very easily kill you maybe I'd dip into that sometimes to get things done. I guess in my teen years weed was way more desirable because there wasn't much to do on weekends, but then I had friends with ecstasy, LSD, mushrooms, and others so that all kind of eclipsed things... So I guess it became that "gateway drug" which was then rather boring and didn't make me or anything else anymore entertaining. It's like taking a sleeping pill. Alcohol is a good drug for me now in social situations because I can be friendlier and I can pace myself easily.

    Congratulations Sosobiasedman!
  13. Grim Fandango being remastered for PS4 and Vita

Man, finding out the inventory system for the first time, while just a cute sort of thing, felt so revolutionary at the time.
  14. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

Well I guess all of those Club Nintendo coins I thought I was going to make use of at some point is just going to be pissed away. Maybe I should just buy whatever is left in the store and hock it on ebay later?
  15. What the fuck is this? I ran it by my sort-of-Lynch-fan friend: "It costs like thousands of dollars to be taught transcendental meditation. And they make you swear not to tell people how to do it. I think you can get in legal trouble if you divulge." Link: http://www.alternet.org/economy/transcendental-meditation-how-i-paid-2500-password-inner-peace So Lynch is also some kind of shitty New Age snake oil salesman?
  16. anime

I'll throw Ergo Proxy out there again even though I only watched early it last year. It's more muted than the stuff you mentioned, but I look back upon it fondly. For goodness sakes don't miss Tatami Galaxy! Now I feel like I want to rewatch Champloo because it keeps coming up.
  17. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

That is the cutest kidney stone though. Enjoy your med stay Zeus/Zues.
  18. Nintendo 3DS

But the Power Glove didn't bar you from any games, it was positively useless. The Sega CD created exclusives, just as much as the 32X. I don't see how the Power Glove could possibly fragment any kind of user base except to show which kid had wealthy parents and liked to play games badly.
  19. The Great Debate: Legalization

Sorry, I guess I should specify, I'm not typically around friends who are sloshed. That is not fun drunk. To me, high just seems more of an on and off thing that lasts as long as you have smoked, and is never fun to be around (for me).
  20. Life

Good luck man, that'll be a great opportunity! Hope you get it! Also I have no way of seeing Song of the Sea yet.
  21. The Nintendo Wii U is Great Thread

God damn it, that's not Urkel at all!
  22. Grim Fandango being remastered for PS4 and Vita

I'm pretty sure I only ever used tank controls, but maybe it's because I was in the PS1 generation when that was a usual thing on a prerendered background. I'm not really against them though I do remember hitting invisible walls maybe a bit too often.
  23. Life

It's just too much to handle because I really need to dedicate time to doing my projects well to make my degree worth it and there won't be enough hours in the day if I'm at a 40-50 job all week. That and no full time job wants generally wants to work around a school schedule. I tried persuading all of these opportunities to try me out part time, but no dice.
  24. (Not Harvest Moon) Story of Seasons

Yeah for sure, it's a continuation of the Farm Story (Japanese name) series which has always been Harvest Moon here. But now things have changed and Harvest Moon has gone to another developer since the name is registered to Natsume in the United States. So the new game titled Harvest Moon which is coming out is kind of weird and Minecrafty for whatever reason and most likely is not going to appeal to long time fans who seem to love iterations of the same thing over and over. Harvest Moon is not really my thing but my wife loves 'em. What is really not clear is if Story of Seasons will be the new U.S. title for the series now published by Xseed or if they are just going to name the games individually by the subtitle. Hopefully they choose the former as it's kind of a shitty situation for a game series that could certainly use more traction in the United States these days. I really wish Marvelous would make a Harvest Moon WiiU as my wife would seriously love to play it. It's the perfect platform. She actually only likes the Wii ones since you can play as a female and they have shitloads of animals especially in her favorite, Animal Parade (although Tree of Tranquilty is also great to her). She finds the previous DS ones she tried on my old DS to be tedious and not user friendly in terms of interface so did not sink the hundreds of hours to the finish like she did on the jam packed Wii ones. The problem is she started with Tree of Tranquilty and tried to go back to older ones like the PS2 and Gamecube one, but in such an iterative series you see how limited the interface is when you go backwards. But she hasn't played any of the 3DS ones so far since they are the most current and she says she would love to play this one. If I do get a New 3DS at some point I will give her my old one and buy her Story of Seasons. She just can't afford a 3DS for herself right now and neither can I. Her younger sister has one she never touches but she refused to let my wife borrow it for a year to play The Tale of Two Towns. She's also not interested in the branching Minecraft Harvest Moon.
  25. The Great Debate: Legalization

Fucking this. Every pothead I have ever encountered socially is like the worst person, the dumbest person, or the laziest person in the vicinity. It's of course a generalization, but if I'm going to interact socially with people over a drug it'd have to be a nice drink because then it's fun. When I'm high around other people I also become an idiot who can't think of an interesting thing to say or do. It's just sleepy time. Can't stand the stuff, the way it smells, the way you usually consume it, and the way it's the only political thing some people about. However it should be completely decriminalized it's not fair for anyone to get in trouble for such harmless stuff unless they are behind the wheel. My dad got arrested twice for having weed on him two years ago and it's still legal shit my parents are wrangling with for nothing, as he just keeps buds in a film cannister and like an idiot he was lighting up in a gas station parking lot one time and just had it in his car another time. He was stopped for not using his blinker the second time, the cop pulled up his record and saw he had been arrested for the first offense and then found it suitable to search his car. It basically ended up in about 10k in lawyer fees since the offenses were so close to eachother, they got rid of one, but he is still on probation for another. My dad has pretty much never been in trouble with the law either, at least since I was born.
