I agree, I guess I'm generally less liberal on the spectrum but there's a lot of stuff I support and I am often not even wanting to talk about any of this stuff anymore because it's just so divided as you said. It's exhausting and tends to make me not care anymore since I feel like talking online is like walking on eggshells (Facebook, forums, twitter, etc.) and may result in you being demonized even though you may mean well. It's just in good fun and it's her job. So adding angry feminist accusations to her pile of criticisms just makes me frustrated even though I'm not her.

If the game is heavily comprised of prerendered scenes and cutscenes in a 4:3 aspect ratio, then that is the "proper" mode. Never has a remaster meant that the aspect ratio is altered from the original format. If anything that's the opposite of a remaster if you consider a large body of films and animation. In the Ratchet and Clank HD collection the first game switched from 4:3 for the prerendered cutscenes (as they should) and to 16:9 for the real time 3d gameplay. Iwish they had just left the whole game 4:3 as it originally was because it was a bit odd to keep switching. Just curious, do you listen to the Twin Peaks podcast?

Seriously though, if you hold down crouch while standing on the cloud, you fall behind the background scenery and you can run right and get a warp whistle. Saw it on The Wizard.

I think Tim sort of looks like Tim from The Office, so the princess is most likely Dawn and the knight is Lee. The atom bomb is most likely a representation of David Brent's career. Anyway, the cloud you can stand on is just the Secret Santa in the finale, hence why a book is melting into a table (Tim is pulling a prank on ol' Gareth again!).

Well when I play The Witness I'll just look out for books stuck halfway into tables, clouds that you can stand on, and atom bombs. Now that I really think about it, I'm kind of ticked that getting all of the stars in Braid just kind of fails to inform anything else about the story. Why couldn't Tim just do a little dance or something? What is Braid?

God I love this episode of the podcast. Remo had me in tears with his aspect ratio talk and how the screen must fit all plastic and all peripheral vision. I get so deeply and irrationally annoyed whenever I am at someone else's home and their TV is just all sorts of wrong. It's often even worse because often cable providers or TV stations can't figure out a standard for their commercials or even how the next show should be displayed so you'll sometimes start having pillar and letter boxing coming after a 4:3 show. Christ. Runner up on my new favorite thing to hate is when someone is showing video from their laptop/tablet to a projector for an audience and does not full screen the video. Extra points if they are playing from Youtube and also leave the ad up along with annotations.

Yeah, while I am not a fan of many of the aspects of tediousness and waiting involved in the side quests rather than the sidequests rather than the actual time mechanic itself, if you just think of what you want to do in terms of chunks of areas within a three day time period, it's really not a big deal. All of this is moot though since Majora's Mask 3DS now lets you fast forward time to whatever hour of the day you prefer, getting straight to the point.

I think we've argued about this at length years ago elsewhere on this forum, but if there was any consensus is that Jonathan Blow didn't make many aspects of Braid's story and meaning comprehensible to... anyone who wasn't Jonathan Blow.
