  1. The Secret World

I think it's time for Ragnar Tornquist to quit the games industry then.
  2. Feminism

Also it helps you figure out if she's a witch or not!
  3. Homophobic?

I can't tell if this thread is a parody topic or not. I feel dumb.
  4. Jimmy Jam: a cool oldschool adventure project

I think when people use this wonky cartoon background style, they are more often than not doing it so they don't have to bother with things like straight lines or perspective. When most people look at a background from Ren and Stimpy or Day of the Tentacle, I suppose they don't see a perspective that warps in unison, only a bunch of random lines. I'm now trying to figure this business out and I am very confused. "Pub Master" is "Icey" then, who makes only coincidentally similar Final Fantasy style adventure games?
  5. Movie/TV recommendations

Yes! Another person that loves Mind Game! Please watch, all, you will not be disappointed. There's a neato Australian Region 4 DVD release with English subs and features if you don't want to steal.

I guess with all of this recent feminism, misogyny, and games I don't understand how I'm supposed to feel to not be a jerk male. Can I like scantily clad ladies in my media sometimes? Can I like simply sexy ladies in my media? Is eye candy ever okay? Does every female character need to be grungy boring Alyx from Half Life or the mute from Portal? It is all just a balance of the amount of pandering? Too many games with male gaze not enough with different portrayals of women? Is it okay for Michel Ancel to make the decision to have voluptuous sexy fairies in Rayman Origins even though they were not like that in the previous games? Is that misogynistic? What kind of guilt am I supposed to feel if any at all? And I'm not referring to the stupid sex and violence mix towards women of many recent games like Batman and Hitman. More Lollipop Chainsaw where she is not a product of being tied up and punched in the noise multiple times.
  8. Crazy Mansion: an alternate take on the MM/DOTT universe

Hey you know what guys, adventure games need all the help they can get. Reviewers are so biased towards any adventure and purposefully give 2/10s. We have to fight back since there aren't enough upper middle class high thinking buyers who were the original fans of the genre and the market is cluttered with shooters that every little kid is bugging their parents to buy, so we should support smaller adventure games like this as a community to keep the genre alive. Sure maybe their art is the worst garbage ever and the game is yet another uninspired LucasArts love letter, but if we don't support this, we will deter other start up adventure games that we might actually like. Don't do it for the love of games, do it for justadventure.com.

But the detail on the vagina alone...
  10. Crazy Mansion: an alternate take on the MM/DOTT universe

I wonder if these guys realize it's no longer 1995 and people have ceased to be interested in fan games that look like they were drawn by adolescents. Production values be damned, I'm sure the puzzles will be brilliant though right?!
  11. Life

If the commentary on the DVD is anything to go by, they seem very nice, every single employee.

Kill your friend, put him in a trunk, and then dump his body where no one will find it.
  15. McPixel

That's clearly just his real name, plus a different online persona. How else would he have all of these free versions to give away?
  16. Happy Birthday!

Hey those birthdays wishes, pretend I said the most recent ones on the correct days!
  17. McPixel

If you created this Toblix, I will buy, but only if you confirm you did.
  18. Microsoft Surface

I was about to say, "mierenneuken" was the best part of the whole thread. That it translates to "antfucking" is just pure icing!
  19. Chibi Robo? More like Feeble Robo!

You might as well, sometimes handheld counterparts of console games can be very surprising. I've found a lot of reviewers tend to just dock the game for not being what it's big brother is and reiterating it a bunch in their review.

  21. Microsoft Surface

Just the video showed it did not have all of the functions a Wacom pen would have. The other issue I would have is the end is very thick and seems kind of clunky, while on a Wacom pen I can change out the nibs to different sizes or points. The way the video showed seemed like it would be more ideal for notetaking and sketching than full on finished art. It doesn't seem like there's anything that is an equal fully functional direct competitor to the Cintiq yet, unfortunately.
  22. Chibi Robo? More like Feeble Robo!

    Awww, our old thread titles!
  23. Microsoft Surface

Yep, it's governed by the pen. I don't know why other companies can't just make a cheaper version of what Wacom's pens do. It might have something to do with their patent, but I wouldn't know the details. The problem is, no tablet PC or Wacom-like drawing tablet ever does all of the same. At this point I rely greatly on a combination of pressure sensitivity, tilt, customizable buttons, and pressure degrees and resolution, so anything much less and I'd feel gimped. There's a few tablet PCs already with pressure sensitivity which Wacom sells technology to, but they are usually missing the tilt part on the pen.. If the pen doesn't have a battery, chances are it's Wacom technology. But this is not to saw Wacom is grand, they make good products which are fucking expensive. I can probably not afford a Cintiq for a long while assuming money goes good in life. The cheapest one is still $1,000 and the screen is way too small for my liking. I imagine if someone could just put out something similar for cheap, it would change the game. But the thing is most consumers are not interested in tablets for art reasons and you wouldn't really need all of the functions unless you are doing some serious digital painting, which makes the demand for nicer priced tablets to not have all bells and whistles. At least that's how it see it. The link BigJKO and Chris posted for the Blue Tiger doesn't seem like it'll still have all the same functions, nor does it seem to be ideal for drawing and painting. I'd be curious if they could get drivers for it in Corel and Adobe programs.

Just brilliant! That's all... no more derailing here.
