I dreamt last night that a young Mark Rylance came into the pub I was playing pool in. I was about to approach him and let him know that I knew his biggest fan but then a fight started and my dream moved on. I think my subconscious is telling me I should stop teasing pabosher... (Also, congrats SAM! Hopefully your kid will gain amazing nuclear superpowers on some future Bring Your Kids To Work Day)

I could tell you but my dog ate the piece of paper I had the answer written on.

This thread is unhealthy wrong.

That JB episode is great.

Gotta be quick, but I saw FF recently and thought it was pretty disappointing. Didn't really have much in the way of characters or action, takes so long to get going, is pretty rote ("scientists circumnavigate their military funders, try the experiment on themselves" is an origin story I don't need to see again ever). It lacks the energy of Chronicle or X-Men 1. I suspect it got dogpiled not because it's awful but because even the worst Marvel films feel like they're trying really hard.

The Business is a surprisingly okay British Goodfellas knock-off. But then I didn't like Miami Vice...

A Dedicated Thread For Talking About Star Trek Episodes
Ben X replied to BigJKO's topic in Movies & Television
Here's what I said after getting very near the end of watching a reccomended episodes list for Enterprise: "The characters are all still rather dull, though, and although the action has got a bit more slick and exciting the plots are pretty formulaic. It's definitely getting better; as the list article says, it's a shame that it seemed to be just about to find itself when it got cancelled." -
I just started watching The X-Files on Amazon and suddenly realised that it's been converted to widescreen for HD. Ugh. I was dragged to see Dirty Grandpa (De Niro and Efron comedy) and it is painfully formulaic in every aspect. I just watched Terminator Genisys and it was pretty bad. Meandering and messy, with a load of stuff we've already seen the other movies do. It's a shame as the concept of mucking about with the first two movies' timeline has potential but they just didn't know what to do with it. I would have loved to see Cameron take on this idea as a third film in 1993 with the original cast - BTTF2-style shenanigans with massive action set-pieces being intertwined.

Candyman rules, I knew it!

We're trying to summon Rylance's greatest fan, but it doesn't seem to be working. It probably works on Candyman rules and needs one more slam.

Oh crap, was the flea you as well? Sorry, thought I was spreading the paraphrasings around a bit. Re. me pre-empting you, great minds think alike, I guess (but the greater ones get there first).

Yeah, Teg posted that in the Simpsons thread: https://www.idlethumbs.net/forums/topic/9610-what-is-the-nadir-of-the-simpsons/ So weird to see Marge turned into an unconvincing animatronic. Still, more diversity to make up for Smithers turning white!

I also made the connection between this and Lego Movie when I posted about the latter (Merus and I continue the conversation over the next page and he mostly convinces me that Lego Movie handled it okay). I do find it amusing that a lot of you are bothered by stuff like "a magic toy horse couldn't run that fast!" and "a talking, circus-owning flea couldn't exert that much pressure on a bottle!"

It's a shame Mark Rylance is such a terrible actor...

Ha ha, thankfully they seemed to tire of farty out-takes after doing two of them for TS2. The ones in M Inc are pretty rote but then they segue into a proper little epilogue which is really nice. At least one person has managed to keep them up on YouTube, it seems.

No, I really disliked Toy Story 3. Just watched Monsters Inc (though I've seen it a good few times before), and still find it very enjoyable. Love the production design and the performances (vocal and animation- especially Sully, Mike and Boo's faces), lots of inventive gags and set-pieces. It pretty much only has one setting, though - high-energy farce - so it can feel a little tiring at times.
-
Onto Monsters Inc tomorrow, so last chance for anyone to watch Toy Story 2 and agree with me that it's not that good.

As I regularly tell Dave Gilbert, commentary nodes need to come with an option to just listen to them all without having to (re)play the game. -
I might have a Steam key for Psychonauts and a Uplay key for Rayman Origins, depending on how nice Humble Bundle plays. PM me if you want to try your luck (>50 posts and nice people only).

These are known as 'killer apps', right? Games that single-handedly sell systems.

Putting a Harry And The Hendersons ref in the thread title spoils the third act sasquatch reveal, dude.
